Val wears a lot of dresses, skirts, fancy blouses, lingerie, corsets and leather in either black, red, dark blue or white. Her attire is classy and form flattering, her form regal and elegant when not working.
She has two dimples in her back, one on either side.
Valencia is a buxom woman with an hourglass figure, long dark hair and inviting, almost dreamy eyes. Her attire is classy and form flattering, her form regal and elegant when not working. When working, she is strictly professional. But when working as an escort, her inner freak is allowed to shine with exotic outfits and luxurious lingerie, and even bondage wear depending on what her client(s) like.
Valencia has always been a creative individual, but doesn't have any artistic talent to follow through with her visions, leading to frustration and feeling inadequate in all of her endeavors. Creativity, intelligence and skill have gone hand-in-hand with her professional life though, specifically on the field.
To the normal eye, she is a normal law-abiding citizen that is dutiful and generous to friends and loved ones. Her considerate and extroverted nature tend to bring out the best in others. When out with friends, she'll seem bubbly and care-free, to the point of almost seeming like an airhead. But her darkest desires contradict her job, her beliefs, and even some traits of her personality. And it is those deep, closeted yearnings that have led her to move far away from family and take a temporary leave from the FBI's Criminal Justice division.
She longs to act on these desires, but has never truly been given the opportunity, and she is loathe to admit her fantasies to others for fear of being judged and deemed disgusting. Although she would love to be and act wild, her morals and the image that she believes she must uphold keep her from doing so.
The youngest Minnaar child has always been interested in the possibility of the supernatural - specifically in werewolves...

Valencia has an extensive background in law, law enforcement and criminal justice.
The Minnaar household erupted with excitement when Valencia was born. She had been the only child that her parents had planned, and was the last one they wanted. Growing up in 90's America with rapidly evolving technology, the young girl loved troubleshooting computers and other emerging technologies... And video games. Her favorite was Gex: Enter the Gecko, leading to an avid interest in criminal justice. Her favorite films normally included fantastical elements, such as witches, vampires and werewolves. Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School remains to be one of her favorite animated films. As a child, she had a tendency to interrogate her parents whenever they said something like, "because I said so".
School was always... Trying for Valencia - not because she couldn't grasp what she was learning, but because she wasn't being challenged. As soon as she figured something out, she lost interest in doing it repeatedly until it presented some form of challenge - which was rare. Thus, the classes that she visibly excelled at and were interested in were mathematics and literature. School years continued with academic teachers complaining that she wasn't applying herself, something she grew quickly tired of when it led to lengthy discussions with her parents. Her art teacher in particular was impressed with Val's creative vision, but wasn't particularly successful in teaching the girl to draw. When the art teacher recommended that she try creative writing, the teen thought her daft... But quickly discovered that she had a knack for it.
At the age of 16, Valencia dropped out of school with the consent of her parents and got a GED. At 17, she was a full time student until she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, with tuition paid for by the National Guard. Her college years were constantly busy, jumbling studies with putting out fires and rescuing civilians. What little spare time she did have was split between friends, gaming and writing.
Her stories commonly involved lycanthropes of some kind in a multitude of genres. In doing character research one day, she stumbled across gelbooru and Rule34, where she found werewolf porn. It was strangely... Arousing. But her search was brief; she was disturbed in the affect it had on her at first, and pushed her laptop away. Why was she so deeply attracted to the creatures? Did that make her was a zoophile? Was that technically bestiality, despite werewolves being generally described as being sentient creatures? She had so many questions, feeling so guilty about the formed 'fetish' that she was ashamed to admit it to... Anyone that she knew.
Though she tried to run from and avoid it, the need for exploration drove her to search for every picture, video and story she could find on the subject - going further and further down the rabbit hole. She loved the bestial male lycans with humanoid women the most - and there just wasn't enough of it. In her searches, she was introduced to the furry community - which she's been a member of ever since. Although she didn't believe herself to be a furry per say, she was beyond interested in attending one of the conventions due to a general obsession with wolf and wolf-like characters. Unfortunately, no where close to werewolves, but as close as she believed she was going to get in real life.
She attended her first convention at the age of 18, where she met "Ragnar the Savage". He was a little older, and his fursona (Ragnar) was a black and red werewolf. His fursuit was what she had always envisioned a real lycan to look like. She couldn't help herself. It took very little effort for her to seduce him. He took her up to his hotel room, and per her request, kept the suit on and wore bad dragon wearable. The rest of the convention, for her, centered around him. They kept in touch and while they did meet up afterwards for fun, for all of their sexual exploits, it was required of him to wear the fursuit - which he didn't mind at first. Ragnar's creator, Ivan, wanted to make her his. He wanted her to love him as a man.
The problem was that she didn't want a man. She wanted a beast, and wasn't looking for an attachment. When she turned 23 and passed the physical tests to become an FBI agent, she celebrated with him. Unfortunately, the celebration was short lived; he took her out somewhere to celebrate with friends (and some of his family), where he bent the knee and asked her to marry him. To everyone's surprise except hers, she turned him down. Heartbroken, Ivan left her and she threw herself into her work.
Valencia was a superstar in the criminal justice division, and within a year, was tested to be a special agent. No one was surprised when she passed. In fact, the agents of the Criminal Justice division expected it.
In her first year, she started to notice a pattern and dove deeper, discovering a deeply rooted network of human trafficking all over the states, all linked to one alias. Each time the alias appeared, a large number of people went missing in those areas. They had to be loading them up somewhere and transporting them somewhere, but where? None of the information lined up to a single point for a 'meet up'; more like they were a blip on the map and nothing more. She and her team calculated when the next "shipment" was to go out... The first two times, they were wrong, but on the third try, they witnessed a deal between a politician and a man in a black military uniform with a red band. Nazi's? The politician referred to the other as a Commander for the 'Cult of Bane' - an organization that she'd never heard of. She shadowed the Commander to an underground railroad, to a randevu point with other Commanders and even other officers - each wearing the same uniform and band. They were taking rollcall of all of their... Prisoners - some names of which she recognized from the national missing person's board.
Before the Cult's departure, the FBI intercepted them, believing that they could stop the trains from leaving. The Cult would not allow their cargo to be taken without a fight.
It was a massacre, one that she barely escaped from alive. During the battle, she sustained a terrible wound and was forced to play dead until the Cult left. Using the shirt of a fellow agent to create a tourniquet, she was able to escape unseen by the cleaning crew. Her wounds left her out of commission for a month or so. She was back at it despite her doctor's protests early the following month. Every time she attempted to follow the trains after their meeting point, she would lose them. It was like they were vanishing without a trace. Just when her superiors were telling her to abandon the investigation, she found a lead. That lead led her overseas to Germany and Russia.
Everyone in the Black Market that she investigated implored her to steer clear of the Cult of Bane and something called Ma'luum. Even the Cosa Nostra avoided the Cult like the plague. The investigation lasted for two years; nothing seemed to line up and nothing made sense. She finally pieced together that the Cult was almost like a copy of the Nazi regime, and that Ma'luum was their base of operations. Talk of Ma'luum made it sound like a large compound... A large compound that could not be seen by air, wasn't on any map, and that no one knew the location of. The things that the Cult members were capable of... Didn't seem human.
Finally, a member of a Russian mafia cracked. With the cooperation of the mob, Valencia was able to worm her way closer to the compound until she became the 'man on the inside'. She freed as many people as she could while waiting for the right moment to strike. There were rumors of 'Za good doctor' and her experiments underground; though she wanted to investigate, an opportunity was never presented. Going against regular protocol was close to suicide. When the time to act came, the 'Doctor' and a group of others had escaped.
She'd succeeded in taking down the Cult of Bane and their criminal network. She captured Wolfsbane himself and took him in. But the Ma'luum compound... Seemed to vanish overnight. The disappearance of the complex was written off by another agent that seemed to have more information. In taking out Wolfsbane, the FBI was also able to apprehend more than 50% of the human trafficking network.
After turning 28 a year later, she asked to take a temporary leave from the agency; her boss agreed, demanded it even. He arranged for her to have two years off of paid leave, to recover, process, live a little. On his suggestion, Valencia has flown to Snow Haven, Alaska. In this spare time, she has decided to do something she had til then only fantasized of - becoming an escort.
Reading over some of Ma'luum's files gave her hope that the supernatural existed. Thus, she caters only to specific clientele... With ulterior motives: She suspects that the Cult is making a come back. But if not under Wolfsbane's leadership, then whose?
And if she happens to discover that werewolves - the bipedal kind - are real in the process… That would be one hell of a plus.
Thijs and Daan Minnaar are her older twin brothers, two years older. The siblings were close in their youth, but have been drifting apart for the last six years. They are all the children of Francesca Ricci and Levi Minnaar. Their mother is Italian and their father is Dutch. While her brothers take after their father, Valencia takes after her mother - looking at her, no one can really guess that she's half-dutch.
Human
Valencia is an unaware human, but her encounter with the Cult of Bane has left her suspicious... And hopeful. She sincerely HOPES and PRAYS that the supernatural exist. Specially, she hopes that werewolves exist, and that they're everything she hopes they are.
Although she doesn't have superhuman abilities of any sort, she is far from a powerless or helpless human. She is resourceful, intelligent, strong willed and a quick thinker capable of making split-second decisions - all requirements of her role as an special agent for the FBI. Although not necessarily powerful, she is physically fit and able to use someone else's strength, weight and speed against them. She is exceptionally skilled in the art of self defense, and at least one fighting style.
