Michael Warner
- Mickey (his parents used to call him this, and he gets very upset if anyone else does. It brings up bad memories)
- Mick (Leonard Parkinson and Douglas Franklin; just short for Michael, a term of endearment. Leonard picked it up from Douglas)
Michael is a laid-back guy, but gets very upset if people call him Mike
Drug dealer
"I deserve my sentence. I do, and I know that. But he does, too."
Male, he/him. Unlikely to correct you if you were to use they/them, though. Would correct you if you used she/her
Unlabelled, but would date anyone if he felt an attraction towards them
40
- his nickname Mickey comes from Michael Pearson from the Gentlemen (my favourite film!!)
African-American
Chiwetel Ejiofor
240lbs
(108kg)
6'4
(193cm)
Very dark brown, pretty much black. He gets very defensive if you call it brown, in fact
Michael has heterochromia; his left eye is a honey-like shade of brown, and his right eye is dark green
Michael has short dreads. He keeps his hair in good condition as he knows how to style it himself. He refuses to style his fellow inmates' hair
Michael has a black stubble where a beard would grow, alongside many shaving nicks due to an unsteady hand (see conditions)
Michael has a rectangular face with a very pointed chin, and a long, crooked nose. It looks as though it has been broken in a fair number of fights, but he would never tell you whether or not that it the case. It might just be genetics. Michael also has a wide neck, and prominent Adam's apple
Human
Michael has dark skin, and never burns in sunlight. His skin is very clear, despite his lack of a skincare routine
Muscular; he works out a lot, at least an hour every day, so that, despite his above-average weight, he maintains an attractive, athletic figure. His biceps are very large, a feat of which Michael is very proud
Michael's eyes stand out due to his heterochromia
ESFP
outgoing; he is a very extroverted, social man, liking to meet with his clients face-to-face, especially over dinner or drinks to help them feel safe during the introductory phase. He loves nights out with his friends, and tries hard to get to know new people, expanding his experiences and contacts.
genuine; he is a very honest, very open man. He feels at ease around most people, despite his insecurities, and doesn't feel a need to hide himself. Michael is upfront about his motives and methods, which makes him extremely trustworthy, part of the reason he has built an empire without much violence at all.
sensitive; Michael's difficult upbringing and generally emotional disposition cause him to take things to heart, and, often, considers any misfortunes to be his own fault, or a reaction to his personality. He often feels insecure in his masculinity, as though he is too passive and doesn't have enough control over his clients. He can't see that other people see this as an absolute strength.
Michael is a well-meaning, sensitive man, who deeply cares for other people. He feels a strong sense of community towards people, regardless of his relationship with them, and is strongly adversed to violence because of this. He believes in strengthening relationships and coming together to help one another out, making him to be a trustworthy ally.
However, he is not perfect. He is too trusting, and puts always puts others before himself, which can result in his harm. His open nature makes him appear blunt at times, and some people find him to be overly social and slightly annoying.
- rubs his eyes when tired or bored
- wrinkles his nose subconsciously
- picks at cuticles
- has a very loud laugh that tends to make other people inclined to laugh along
- moves his eyebrows a lot while talking
- leans forwards in chairs
- sucks teeth when annoyed
Michael is motivated by his desire to bring people closer together. Not entirely sure why he thought drugs would be the best way to do this, but, hey, at least he's paid handsomely, and it wouldn't be fair to say that his career path hasn't brought him a lot of advantageous friends
Michael is overly trusting, which pits him in frequently compromising situations. He puts other people before himself, and doesn't really have a lot of respect for himself. Afraid to end up like his father, he also has too much self restraint, and often stops himself from enjoying himself
Michael is not prejudiced. He sees peoples as part of one big community who all share the same core
He is a talented flautist, beatboxer, and makes the best cup of coffee that you'll ever have. Like Harry Parkinson, he has perfect pitch, and also has a pleasant, baritone signing voice, though he doesn't often show it off
Michael enjoys working out, interior decoration, and social networking, though he is embarrassed to say it out loud. He has a private affinity for paint-by-numbers sets, and can go through two or three in a productive day. His favourite pieces decorate the walls of his condo back in Brooklyn, though they are not very good, due to his shaky hands
- Early-onset Parkinson's disease
- Heterochromia
Very patient and understanding, Michael has an abundance of social skills. He is also a great barista, host, and flautist. Ask him to play Tchaikovsky

January 28th, 1967
Brooklyn, New York
Michael is highly intelligent, though he went to a below-average state school. He was well-behaved in school, and excelled in the humanities, especially RE. He went on to study politics at a prestigious university, barely getting by using the money that his parents had left him as inheritance
Born and raised in New York to wealthy but uncaring parents, Michael was left to mainly fend for himself. Despite having the funds to do otherwise, he was sent to a poor school, where he, in turn, received a poor eduction, however managed to attend a good university using his good grades and the money of his newly-deceased parents. He made a name for himself by dealing marijuana to students and, sometimes, teachers. During his time in university, Michael rekindled his previous friendship with ex-classmate Douglas Franklin, who gave him a job as he progressed from dealing to yuppie students onto shady but prestigious clients in the New York crime scene.
Instructed by his boss, Michael reached out to drugs and arms dealer Leonard Parkinson, proposing an overseas trade of guns and ammunition in return for excess marijuana. Parkinson agreed, and flew out to the states in the following week, however the deal never went through as the pair were caught and arrested. Michael did not snitch on Douglas, however both he and Leonard were sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Catherine Warner; a timid woman, most likely abused by her husband just as badly as Michael was. She never spoke out against his actions, and, for that, Michael resented her. She died when Michael was seventeen, when a very drunk Lucian crashed their car into a tree. It is unclear whether or not he did this deliberately
Joanne Robins (mother-in-law); mother of Michael's late wife, Annie, who died shortly after the pair met. They only met once, and started a promising relationship, which was cut short after Joanne died under an open heart surgery operation
Lucian Warner; a violent and abusive alcoholic, who would get drunk and beat Michael up almost every night. He died when he was seventeen, in a car crash caused by his own drunkenness, leaving Michael to live on his own, which made him much happier. Lucian ruined his childhood, and he will get tense if you bring his family up to him, even with the best intentions
Brick Robins (father-in-law); father of Annie, who grew close to Michael after the death of Joanne, becoming more of a father to him than Lucian ever was. After his daughter died, too, Brick became even closer with Michael, becoming one another's backbones in life. They are still in contact today
- None
- Annie Warner; his wife, née Robins, who was a relatively well-known florist in New York. She passed away from breast cancer in 1999. The pair immediately after her diagnosis, afraid of not having the time. She was a pure, kind woman, supportive but wary of Michael's business, so long as nobody was hurt. Not a day goes by in which Michael doesn't miss her dearly
- Annie Warner; see above
- None. Though he and Annie wanted them, they never had the chance, and Michael secretly thought it unethical to bring children into his lifestyle
- Max; his childhood golden retriever. Michael's parents put Max down when he was five, due to him frequently biting people, which devastated him.
- he has a tattoo of an robin on his thigh, in memory of his wife
- got his belly button pierced on his stag night, and has not had it removed
- loves painting, especially wildlife. obviously, he is not very good at it
- "I'm sorry about your brother, but that wasn't my fault. I deserve my sentence. I do, and I know that, but he does, too." (To Harry Parkinson)
- I would like to think that I have some self respect left in me. It’s hard, in a place like this, to keep ahold of it, but I think that I have managed better than most.
- forgiveness
- responsibility
- masculinity
