Moray
Moray Face (by Owen)
Female
16
Eel: About 60 lbs
Human: 133.7 lbs
Eel: have yet to find how tall eels are, but the length is 8.7 feet
Human: 5' 5.34"
Muted, dark lime green, with a streak of blond poliosis. Not woven into her braid, just kind of hanging beside the rest of her hair, on the right side.
Long, waist-length loose braid. A seashell is woven into the elastic at the bottom of it, which is what the Seafarers use to shift. (the seashell, not the elastic) So she can shift her braid into an eel whenever she needs or wants. (not when she's in her seaform and is already an eel though)
Slightly muted purple, like a deep lavender? IDK, bad at colours....
Seafarer (House of Moray)
Tanned, chocolate milk ish colour. semi-watered-down chocolate milk.
Missing pinky toe on left foot from a scuffle with a tiger shark.
Scar on finger.
Eyes. Very identifiable. And purple.
Her smile always tends to look a little more on teh smirk side, even when it's genuine.
When her teeth show in the smile, they're pointed, and definitely not human. Sometimes you can see her second jaw set. So she doesn't show her teeth when she smiles.
Her eyes rarely smile along with her mouth, though half the time they're behind her sunglasses, so it can be hard to tell if she's genuinely smiling or not.
And since her eyes are that dark muted lavender, it's hard to read them anyways, because they're so unusual.
Big mouth, doesn't think before she speaks
Doesn't trust humans
Barely
Blames them for AJ's death (see History) and for her being sent to the Mainlands.
She's also grown up with stories about how humans shouldn't be trusted, they betrayed the Seafarers and Veridin was only hidden because of humans.
Eating quickly (the food and the bowl/plate. fork and knife? why?)
Getting into trouble
Spur-of-the-moment great ideas that might end badly
Bargaining
Lying in wait and snatching small unsuspecting fish down her throat
Annoying and exasperating her father

Fourth Session
Seafarers use a different kind of school. The first ten years of your life are for you to learn and become comfortable with your seaform. How to hunt as it, how to swim properly, etc, etc. It mostly focuses on learning about your seaform, living as it and holding your shift periods. Then come the Sessions.
Each Session focuses on a different aspect of your seaform and helps you control it more. If you were a Shark, you would learn how to keep your strength as you shift back. How to resist the urge of a blood frenzy. Stuff like that. Mastering your instincts, learning about the Mainlands, Veridin's history and finding the balance between creature and human. Also, basic math, how to read (Veridin scripts and English), general geography stuff.
Shai being in the Fourth Session is basically the equivalent of 10th grade.
Shai was born into the House of Moray, the second-born child of Akshay (her father, Head of the House of Moray) and her mother, Lyssa, who was blind and very rarely there anyway. Her older brother, AJ, was the perfect child. She, however, was a bit of a rebel. But when her seventh birthday rolled around and they found out she was a green moray, that changed many things. By law, the biggest kind of moray born from the Heads were the Heirs to the House, and would rule it one day. A green moray is far bigger than a snowflake moray, which is what AJ was, so that was that.
But. Her father despised her, as she had no interest in being the Heir if it meant learning under him, and she was far harder to control than AJ. So he carried on pretending that AJ was the Heir, even going so far as sending Shai to the Mainlands to keep her away.
Long story short, things happened. Owen (her best friend, House of Shark) got kidnapped, and because of this, humans found out they existed. This prompted a worldwide scavenger hunt for these creatures, whom they called "sirens".
Humans were easily avoidable. The buzz of adrenaline from the announcement of the hunt soon wore off. But not for one bunch of humans.
Another long story short, a kind-of-maybe war had broken out between the Seafarers and humans. During this war, AJ was killed.

When Shai is on the Mainlands, her trademark item that she wears has gotta be her gloves. Black gloves, designed to protect others from her touch, and also make her look cool B)
Since she's a green moray, when she's on land, a toxic slime covers her skin. The gloves are so she can touch people and things without hurting them.
Casual, but also, as Luke puts it, "somewhat assassin-for-hire, what with the back, black and black gloves"
- Tank top hoodie, black, no pockets.
- Pale periwinkle jean shorts, frayed on the edges
- Sunglasses perched atop her head
- Black gloves
- Green Converse shoes

Lyrics that describe this character:
I am a little unstable
Loose wires always getting tangled now
I am a little bit difficult
I can be a little self-critical now
I am a little unable
To put all my cards on the table now

Pharyngeal jaws; a normal set of jaws, then another set further back in her throat, for cragging things back down. Also useful for biting things, then tearing them apart whilst biting them, as well as for eating things far bigger than she is
Toxic coat; the toxic slime coat on her skin, about two millimeters of it. Feels like you stuck your hand way too close to a fire when you come into contact with it, and pain intensifies with the duration of the contact. It grows as soon as she steps out of the sea, but only covers her skin; it won't cover her shoes, clothes or gloves.
Hair. It's naturally that colour, teh colour of an actual green moray eel, and it's braided so it looks like an eel. Not to mention she can shift it into an eel should the need arise.
Her seaform, the green moray eel, can survive in the sea and on land. When she's shifted to a moray eel, she can survive for up to two days on land, the slime coat protecting and retaining the moisture on her skin.
Extremely flexible. (thank you, eel form)
Jumps to conclusions
Extremely bad eyesight; her sunglasses are to mimic the light of the deep, and are prescription. She sees much better with them on then off. Normal light to her takes her a while to get used to, and it takes a toll on her eyes to focus.
