Alyssa is bubbly and excitable, often dragging her less-than-thrilled adopted siblings along on escapades around the towns they live in. Like Everett Monroe, she realizes how short a mortal's life is in comparison to hears, but instead of isolating herself, she decides to make the most of it and befriend many of them. She knows life is fleeting and wants to make it better for as many people as she can. She has a tendency to be a bit nosy and irritating, often sticking her nose into everyone's business, but she has good intentions and a kind heart.

Unlike the other adopted children in the Monroe family, Alyssa has no memory of her past. All she knows is that she woke up in an alleyway with fang marks on her shoulder and with Everett Monroe by her side. She could remember that the year was 1968, but she couldn't remember any prior event, and Everett refused to tell her. She's the youngest of the Monroe family "kids" and by far the most enthusiastic. Although she still craves to join the Reborn, she's the most content with the Monroe's plan of moving from city to city, as she's been a vampire for the shortest amount of time.
She's taken several years of high school, as well as many college courses online.
