Jane is very introverted, preferring to spend her time reading or practicing her instruments as opposed to in a crowd. She likes to keep to herself, especially upon her return to her hometown of Aden, which she hadn't visited since transitioning. She'd rather just keep her head down and make it through on her own, often shunting off offers of help. She's used to fending for herself, with a busy actress mother and her only friend being states away. She lacks self-confidence, often judging herself and others, although she knows she shouldn't. She also often feels insecure due to the standard society places on trans women to be uber-feminine at all times since she prefers to dress in more baggy flannels and oversized jackets. Jane struggles with anxiety issues, often spiraling to the worst possible conclusion within seconds of hearing what's happening and then having trouble getting out of that mindset, as well as intense guilt over what happened to Jude Revol, something she blames herself for. She should probably see a therapist to be honest, but there isn't one in Aden. She feels like there's nowhere that she can call home.
Usually has her shoulders a bit hunched, tries to hide her height.
Softball, clarinet, avid reader, good memory.
To make it through this year and then find her path.
Softball, reading, practicing the clarinet.
Shy, stubborn, a bit of a doormat at times.
Jane Sparrow was born in Aden, a small town in northern WI, to Melissa (an aspiring actress) and Robert Finch (a park ranger). She grew up there as her parents' relationship slowly deteriorated, with them breaking up when she was five. She was a shy child and only had two close friends, Hazel Blake and Clyde Miller . When she was 10, an old friend of her father returned, bringing his young child along. Jane befriended Jude Revol, though they were much younger, and one day she and Clyde went off into the woods to explore. Jude followed along against the older childrens' wishes, and was attacked by a wolf. Jane and Clyde were able to save them, but Jude suffered several scars and injuries. Jane blamed herself, and the incident was the final straw for her parents living in the same town. Jane went with her mother, who traveled from state to state to act in shows and movies.
The constant changing of homes and schools was difficult for Jane, who worked best with routines. She kept in contact with Clyde, with the two of them mailing letters to each other. Clyde was the first person she came out to, and he offered her unconditional support. Jane came out to her mother when she was fifteen, and began her transition soon after. When she was entering her senior year, her mother got cast in a movie that would be filmed all across Europe. Melissa was worried about the impact frequent travel would have on Jane's grades and mental health, and so she sent her back to Aden to live with her father.
Once she returns, things aren't as she remembered. Namely, a wealthy and influential family has made its way to town, bringing with it an oddness that wasn't there before. She and Clyde begin to investigate mysterious deaths and disappearances, and Jane finds herself more and more drawn to the mysterious Monroe family.
