Kitty is stubborn and occasionally comes off as flighty or immature due to her tendency to lighten the mood with humor. She's nurturing, often taking younger rebels under her wing and offering them a mother figure they lacked. She's witty and enjoys wordplay, and is skilled at thinking on her feet.

Kitty grew up on Veren, but never excelled in its military. She was never too skilled at fighting, instead spending her time swimming or dancing with her friends. After her home was destroyed in a skirmish, she turned to prostitution. One of her clients was the esteemed general Anton Kels, and Kitty soon became pregnant with his child. Anton offered her money and protection under his name if she kept the child and gave birth to her, and Kitty agreed. They named the child Katya. Unfortunately for Kitty, Anton's protection didn't extend forever, and once Katya no longer needed Kitty to survive, Anton threw her out. Katya Kels grew up believing her mother had abandoned Anton simply out of boredom. Kitty fled to Wols, where she continued work as a sex worker in poor conditions. She began to notice Wolsian government officials at the clubs and bars she'd frequent, and some even as her clients, which angered her, as Wols had declared sex work illegal and did nothing to improve their conditions despite taking part in their services. She soon met Lydia Hanne, a disgraced noblewoman who had come to the underbelly of Wols to hide from her enraged father. The two shared their mutual anger at the policies of Wols, as well as those of other planets like Yeley and Chora, which were even worse, and by the end of their discussion, Kitty had signed on as part of the rebellion. She and Lydia ran odd jobs for years, slowly falling for each other until they finally married about five years later. Lydia and Kitty received a comm to aide Tereza Hanne, Lydia's much younger sister who also had revolutionary intent, and Kitty soon met Ullashel Odessaroe and turned her to the cause. The four of them had a small found family.
When news reached Kitty of the near-destruction of Veren, she wept for hours. Despite the suffering the planet had meant for her, she still mourned the loss of her home, of Anton, and--with all likelyhood--her daughter. She was unaware of the fact that Katya had been taken alive, and was instead being held as a well-kept hostage at the Prestigious Academy of Wols.

Barely any. She can read and write, but not much else.
