His parents & sisters always called him June, and that's exactly why his friends haven't met them yet.
Sometimes people call him Piper (cough Dick and Shiloh) but they hate it and tend to punch those people immediately.
- Frog is too scared to try, Dick called him Piper once and he'll never do it again, and Shiloh pretty much exclusively calls them Piper.
Dick's started to call him Jay as an alternative nickname that won't get him punched. Juniper won't admit it, but he finds it very endearing. He also calls him Ocean Eyes.

Sirens don't really wear much, so Juniper is very interested in human fashion and likes to be a bit eccentric with his outfit choices. He loves thrifting and will sometimes buy the weirdest-looking shit just to spite his friends.
They genuinely enjoy dressing up and they have a scary amount of formalwear. They also really enjoy jewelry and will wear matching pieces with Dick.

Being a siren and having to be particularly careful when they sing. They're also autistic.
He's always doing something with his hands, usually drawing. They've tried stealing Dick's thing about putting his hands in his pockets but they think it looks weird when they do it.

He's half-siren, so he has several abilities that come from his biology. He can force an aphrodisiac into his singing voice, but he can't control it if someone sings along with him or if he gets particularly emotional. He can also slightly alter his physical appearance with a glamour of sorts to appear more masculine or feminine.
In terms of "normal" talents, he enjoys drawing, singing, and voice-acting.
Their tendency to not be emotional can easily be mistaken as apathy, which isn't accurate. They're just really bad at human social cues.

Juniper was born in the Atlantic Ocean to a human father and a siren mother. He was mostly raised in siren society in the Atlantic, but because his parents wanted him to get used to living as a human so he could have a fuller life, once he turned 14, he spent half of his time in the ocean and the other half on land in Edenton, North Carolina. They didn't have many human friends growing up, because they thought they were weird, but they did have a lot of siren friends. Queerness and exploring one's sexuality and gender identity is a lot more common and accepted in the siren community, so he was allowed to grow up nonbinary. Their parents learned about FSMA when Juniper was in high school and encouraged them to apply, promising that they could always visit whenever.
He met Dick at an open mic night when he accidentally focused his magic on him. He profusely apologized, as that definitely wasn't the intention, but Dick ended up falling in love with him anyway. He just happened to be oblivious to that fact.
They met Frog in one of their art classes and they bonded over their artwork, although their styles are extremely different.
He met Shiloh when she was introduced to him by Frog, her new roommate.
He's very close with his parents and both of his sisters, but he talks more with his father and younger sister than his mother and older sister.
He never really wanted one, but he has taken care of Jeffery, Frog's lizard, a couple of times.
