They napped for about ten minutes. Then there was a faint sound like a sheet being torn and Esme was there, re-sealing the rip in the air behind her. "Hey. I found us a way."

"Nobody's backing out," Luke said, lethargically rising to his feet. "We're ready if you are."

"We'll head north west in about sixteen different jumps until we get to Alaska. Then we can take one big jump to the foot of Denali. I don't want to land on the peak, in case there are defenses against shadow spirits like me. Oh, and in the first few jumps we'll find you guys some mountain gear."

"You guys are my idea. The Counteraction Theory applies to all magic, no matter how powerful, as long as it's used right. Other than that, we'll just have to be quick, quiet, and decisive. One thing for sure, I'm not leaving without her."
