I must say, while I'm a little disappointed, I love the fact that they not only made Byleth use some other weapons but that they also made a "too many swordsman" joke. Also, that one picture of Sakurai flipping us off in binary is now everywhere on the series of electrotubes.
Oh good. There's also apparently a reference to how Sothis and Morgana share a VA somewhere in the trailer
OMG THIS EXISTS??? I LOVE THAT GAME!!
I've only ever played 3 houses tho so I know nothing about the rest of the fandomw so….. yea..
Fair enough. Most of the games aren't really related to each other anyway though, so 3 houses completely stands alone. I need to finish my current playthrough lmao
If my judgement on how long the game is is right I'm barely even halfway through, and I'm definitely gonna need to play through the other 2 houses…
I've been playing Golden deer currently,
There's a timeskip, and that's about your halfway point.
But yeah, golden deer was my first house too! First playthrough honestly took me a while. My partner finished three playthroughs before I completed my first lmao
Ahhh that puts me at about 2 thirds of the way through…
And yeah, it's a lot of plot to go through, like, WOW is there a ton of chara development!
You have any favorite characters so far?
Claude and Ignatz definitely, Cyril's pretty interesting too!
And don't get me started on Marianne,
Marianne is my wife 🥺
Also love Claude, plus his voice actor is wonderful
And Ignatz is babey.
Now, Hilda was an unexpected golden deer favorite for me.
Only golden deer I'd say I actually hate is Lorenz.
But in other houses, let's see…
Linhardt. Otherwise, I'm not a big black eagles fan.
Basically ALL the blue lions are great, except I don't like Ingrid as much. Dimitri, Sylvain, and Felix are probably my favorites though.
And professor Manuela <3
Also Alois is my father now. I'm making him adopt me.
Seteth is also very good.
Lorenz I actually don't mind,
But Hilda…
I love her in battle, andI LOVE her arcs with the other characters because she's so varied, BUT…
WHY the FRICK do her strengths in battle NOT match up with the constant whining over work?
Like, if you didn't want me to utilize you on my front lines, then don't be one of my strongest players from the start????
(I apologize, it's a pet peeve for her)
But at the same time, between her and Claude as wyvern riders, I can do a ton of damage and it's GREAT
It's one of her fun little insecurities. :(
She's really like "if no one holds me to any standards, I can't disappoint them."
It kills me that she shouts "you're making me work!" as she commits a mucduc.
And yes Alois is amazing, like, he matches my attitude SO well, and Linhardt is cool, I'm sad I wasn't able to grab him before the timeskip…
same with Felix….
But Sylvain is amazing, and he works so well with Loeni and Lorenz, like, both Leoni and Lorenz are still pretty weak on their own, but he rounds them out nicely if they're together.
I agree with you on Ingrid tho, she's meh.
.
And Dimitri, I get the feeling he didn't like me, and I'm sad I didn't get to interact with him more.
It's one of her fun little insecurities. :(
She's really like "if no one holds me to any standards, I can't disappoint them."
It kills me that she shouts "you're making me work!" as she commits a mucduc.
THAT! Yes, That annoys me so much..
But what annoys me even more is the "I'm still a delicate flower y'know" when she levels up,
like, You are not a "delicate flower" you're a venus flytrap!
Yeah, it's really hard to interact with other house leaders when you're not on their paths.
Dimitri, imo, is a pretty good representation of trauma and mental illness. But also he's like a genuinely good person with noble intent.
Felix is an asshole. But I'm still love him. Linhardt is just relatable content.
(Also pro tip: Lorenz is… really bodge honestly. Steal his relic and give it to Lysithea, and she'll melt everything in her path)
Yea that's what I had done, Still trying to level up Lysithea and Marianne so they can hold their own tho…
Like, they're great support but they can't take a blow, like, at all.
The side quest where you had to keep Marianne alive to grab a relic was so hard…
And yesssss Dimitri is such good representation,
like, I'm torn between him and Edelgard for my next run through the game
Yeah, that's the thing about magic users. Most of them are incredibly squishy and aren't meant to take hits, so you have to protect them and shoot from as far away as you can.
Yeah, I'm currently grinding gears on Marianne's silver stabby-wabby skills, and I'm brain brewing about making Lysithea be a pegasus rider or smth so I can move her around more.
And if it weren't for the fact that Hilda is also not great at sustaining hits I'd have Marianne take the ring that boosts the chances of evasion that I gave Hilda.
Did you make Hilda a wyvern rider? Usually she's pretty tough, but since Stat growths are partially based on chance, you can get unlucky. You're probably better off leaving it on Hilda and just using other units to block off Marianne. There are also skills that raise avoid (like there's a silver stabby-wabby skill that adds +20 to avoid, at S rank I think)
Hilda is a wyvern Rider,
I use her fro front line attacks, but the only units that can keep up with her are Claude and Cyril, Cyril's still weak and I have him hang back because he'll die too quick,
that leaves only Claude to help her out, so she often gets attacked several times in one turn. So yeah, she's tough, (and GREAT at counter-attacks) but she can only handle so much, hence the avoidance ring.
.
And thanks for the tip! That tells me I'm on the right path with levelling up Marianne's silver stabby-wabby skills.
Yeah, and once you get people on horses (Leonie probably, Marianne if you choose, and Sylvain(??? Can't remember if you said you put him on a wyvern too, that's usually my go to)), you should be good and able to keep up with the wyvern riders.
Bow knight is a good class.
Leonie went and got herself mounted over the time gap,
Lorenz has done pretty well as a mounted combatant too,
and Sylvain came as the same thing as Lorenz, but better. I usually keep the three of them together because they're good for covering the smaller side routes on most battle maps.
But they don't keep up with the wyverns on maps with chasms and walls, as Wyverns go over them while they can,
so Ailel and the land-connector one? And the maps at the Monastery? Wyverns go way further than mounted units.
