"No, i meant why can't i go back to Earth? Why can't I go home?" He replied, frowning.
"No, i meant why can't i go back to Earth? Why can't I go home?" He replied, frowning.
"I'm sorry… the Daleks have um… blown up your home planet, Earth," Atra replied mournfully. "But don't worry, you'll have a home on Aridius, my home planet."
"…the Daleks aren't real." Lynx said. "There from an old TV show called Doctor Who."
(aha you got my reference!)
"Oho, they're very real, real indeed. None of us would want to mess with them, but at least I think their mission? Is completed now that they have destroyed all the humans?" Atra explained. Rushing hurriedly she added, "Except for you, of course but I don't think they know that."
(lol yessss)
"No they're not." Lynx replied. "They're from a fuck-ing TV show." He said, purposefully over-enunciating his words. "They aren't real."
(tbh i was searching for an alien species that would make sense for this kind of civilization but then i realized wait the daleks hate humans right they'd be perfect lol)
Altra rolled her eyes. "Look. Doctor Who, whatever it is, they based the Daleks off of our Daleks. Contrary to popular belief, they do not, I repeat do not bow down to any sort of command. They do what they want, but always travel in packs. They are not only wanting to kill all humans, they want to be the only kind in our universe," she emphasized the last bit. She shrugged, saying, "Simply put, we're afraid of them. And, oh look, we appear to be drifting past their home planet right now!" Then suddenly realizing the truth of her words, she ran off, shouting back, "I'll be back! Don't do anything stupid. A split second later, the speed of the ship changed speed, which sent Lynx's body flying forward (you can choose how to interpret this. Is he attached to anything of some kind? Does he only move forward slightly? your choice :) ), while the ship did a complete 90 degree turn, aiming to get as far away from the Daleks' home planet as possible.
(lol perfect XD)
Lynx yelped as his body slammed against the opposite wall. He groaned softly, picking himself up off the floor. "Can't you drop me off on Corinth, then?" He asked. "I used to live there!"
Atra had returned by then and took a deep breath. "You humans are curious, too curious sometimes for your own good. We are piloting this ship towards Aridius, and besides Corinth is 20 larcrys from where we picked you up anyways. Do you know how long a larcrys is? It's a very, very long distance. Let's say, a million times larger than what is it, a mile? We are not turning back at this point. My people need to rest," she said all in one breath. Atra sat down next to Lynx again, drumming her nails on the bed impatiently.
"Then…Outpost 21-B! That should be along the route!" Lynx retorted, raking his hands through his hair. "Any of the outposts! Or…or something!"
"We're not making any stops," Atra tried to say as pleasantly as possible. "My main priority is getting my people back home, not you, you silly human."
"Then give me a fucking pod or something and shoot me at an Outpost!" He replied, tearing his hands through his hair.
Atra closed her eyes and regained her composure. "Our emergency pods are reserved for emergency. Besides, you would die long before you reached any sort of Outpost if we ejected you anyways," she pursed her lips, trying to be patient with this human.
"There is an outpost orbiting the moon of Trach. We will be going right past Trach to get to your home planet. Capeisce?" He spoke slowly, as if speaking to a child.
"Look, my people don't need oxygen like you humans do so you would die long before you got to the outpost," Atra replied, in a more forceful tone than intended.
"I want to go home!" Lynx shouted, tearing his hands through his hair. "Not…to whatever fucking planet you call home!"
"Your home doesn't exist anymore," Atra raised her voice, and sucking in her breath. Why must humans have such a… such a rollercoaster of emotions?
"I'm not talking about Earth! I've called so many damn places home! But I don't want to go with you to your stupid planet!" Lynx shouted.
"Well, we'll deal with that after I take care of my people, as they come first, me being the Lorant and all," Atra turned away, watching the endless black water of stars beneath them, above them, and all around them.
"Fine." Lynx sat down on his bed. "Then get out of my roon." He snarled.
"Of course, I'm happy to do so," Atra replied, slightly annoyed at the human. She opened the door and shut it quietly as she left. But, stressed, she leaned against the door, knowing it would support her, and tried to relax.
He flopped back on his bed. Earth, gone? Fuck. He swore in his head, staring at the ceiling.
Deep breaths in and out, she told herself, to no avail. She crossed her arms, and tried to think of happy things. But what happy things? This human didn't even think that the Daleks existed! she thought to herself. After all, she should know, since they killed her mother when she was just 3 human years, she told herself bitterly. After that, she resolved to herself that she would not let herself feel emotions until they got back home. Ah yes, home, she thought, her mood lifting at the thought of seeing her father again.
Lynx muttered curses under his breath. "Stupid good damned aliens." He muttered. If only I hadn't fucking crashed my ship. If I hadn't, I wouldn't be stuck like this!
"What do humans even need?" Atra found herself wondering aloud. "What do they require, those complicated humans? Perhaps, perhaps that's why we don't interact with them…"
He hurled something at the wall, feeling a twinge of satisfaction when it shattered.
