(Okay)
(I did not proofread this :D)
Bane blinked, looking up at Ryuu. Great! Now he had a rifle pointed at his chest and more wounds! Bane sat there, keeping a staring contest with the man. That totally wouldn’t get him killed. He had a small headache, but his vision came back and think clearly… in Bane standard that is. Bane unlatched his satchel and rummaged inside of it for a little disinfectant pouch and gauze pads. He tore open the small pouch and laid the soak cloth on his scraped knee. The liquid seeped into the wound, pain receptors firing as it killed bacteria. Bane bit his tongue, trying not to scream. It would only attract more malicious people and/or zombies. Removing the cloth, he placed the gauze pad on his knee. He pulled out a spool of medical tape and ripped a few pieces with his teeth. He applied to both his skin and gauze to keep the pad in place. Robbing a CVS can be helpful! Bane didn’t think himself unlucky, but when being at the end of a point rifle, that was unlucky. Hearing the echo of a cane and voice. Very unlucky. Wait! Voices? Bane, at first, thought he was going insane. All other people in the city had to be dead, right? The voices, however, sounded to be those of children. He hugged his back against the wall and moved away from Ryuu and his rifle, dragging himself down a few stairs. “Hello?” He called out. Bane furrowed his brow, confusion twisting his face. He was surly hearing voices, right? If not, could these people be malicious?
(Lol it's okay)
Jasper shut the door gently behind her as she walked into the apartment building, hearing Kas call out and then a little bit afterwards she heard..another voice? It sounded male..she didn't like the idea of traveling with a older guy, bit if they helped Kas then she couldn't complain.
"Uhm..Hello? Who's there?" She called out into the building, frowning as she stuck close to Kas almost protectively.
Kas was definitely apprehensive at the sound of a man's voice in the building. He hadn't expected anyone to reply, and they had to remind themself that whoever this was might be able to help. Maybe not, but he wouldn't be any worse off than before. He swallowed nervously as he headed over to the elevator, which after some fiddling with, evidently didn't function. No surprise there, but it was worth a shot, right? With a reluctant sigh, they made their way over to the stairs to give them a go.
(Beep)
Bane’s nose twitched. Now there were more people in the building with him. But these sounded like kids. How could kids survive an apocalypse? Maybe they scrounge around like buzzards or steel from intact places. “Who are you?” He called out, placing his feet on the stairs. He placed his hands in his lap. “I am not trouble, but if you are, I don’t welcome it.” He growled. He moved himself down the stairs slowly, closer to the bottom floor. His scraped knee sent pulses of pain throughout his leg, but he would have to deal with it.
She frowned as She heard him talking about them being trouble, she huffed softly.
"We aren't trouble." She spoke out as she heard someone coming down the steps. She looked up and waited for them to come into view.
She was trying to maintain an intense gaze, but she was nervous about who would come down so her gaze was wavering.
As Kas was trying to go up the stairs, he inadvertently put out his injured leg to try and go up. They yelped in pain as their leg collapsed, bringing him down onto the stairs and sending their makeshift cane clattering down the steps. His leg was throbbing now and he was breathing heavily, looking tense and stressed. They stopped trying to go up the stairs and instead leaned against the wall, trembling a bit and gently holding their leg with both hands.
Bane cringed as he heard the cane clatter to the ground. That sounded like trouble, but not pesky kid trouble. He officially left his post, leaving Ryuu and Frenchie behind to investigate the noises. He shuffled down the steps, careful to not tumble down them himself— again. Bane rounded the corner, his eyes landing on the kids. It was just two teenagers left to fend for themselves in the apocalypse. "If you're not trouble, then what do you seek?" He asked like a riddle. He raised an eyebrow, looking down at Kas with slight sympathy. Although, Bane was hesitant to touch the kid with their friends standing at close guard.
"I don't… I don't know…" Kas replied breathlessly, resting their head against the cool wall as a wave of heat and nausea rolled over him. He shuddered and swallowed, really not wanting to throw up right now. If he weren't so desperate, he'd have turned and left already, but they knew they couldn't keep going like this for much longer. He was stubborn, but not stubborn enough to die. "My… knee. I think it's dislocated. We don't know how to fix it." Their stomach growled and they hugged themself tightly with one arm. That was an issue too, but one that could wait a little longer.
Jasper immediately rushed over to Kas as she watched him fall, she grabbed his cane and made her way over to him clearly concerned.
She moved to sit next to him, staring up at bane. She would be glaring at him in protection if they were less desperate for help.
She stared at bane even if she wasn't glaring, she was willing to attack him if he threatened Kas. Though they really couldn't take any chances.
"Please."
(Bump)
(Sorry)
Bane bit his lip. Parts of the kid’s knee were showing through his pants. Maybe it was broken, maybe it wasn’t, but Bane wasn’t the ‘adult’ to trust with medical issues. He had absolutely no training. He made his way down the rest of the steps, leaning next to Kas. “Uhh, you definitely have an issue there. I may know how to pop it back in place, but you can’t scream. Too much noise was already made.” Okay, Bane, you know can do this. Can you really do this? I guess I’ll find out. Bane gently grabbed Kas’ leg and straightened it out, pointing his foot up. He raised the kid's leg up high, bent the knee in and out until he heard a pop. Medical shows did come in handy sometimes, but he might have made the situation worse. Maybe everything would be fine, and they could go their separate ways. Or the kids might become dependent on him. Now one would know. Bane waited for Kas’ inevitable reaction.
(Np ^^)
Kas looked very stressed when Bane approached him, their heart starting to race. At the request not to scream, he swallowed nervously and hesitated before nodding. It was hard to promise something like that since they didn't know how much it was going to hurt. Bane seemed to know what he was doing somewhat, though, and Kas didn't exactly have anything to lose, so he didn't resist.
He kept as quiet and still as possible until there was a sickening pop, shortly followed by agonizing pain. They quickly muffled their scream by biting down on their hand, his eyes stinging with pained tears. His head fell back against the wall and he felt like he was going to pass out. Once the pain had dulled somewhat, they lowered their hand and exhaled shakily, visibly trembling a bit. His leg, however, seemed more functional than before.
Jasper offered her hand to him for him to squeeze when his leg was moved back into place, she tried not to freak out as she saw Kas In pain, not knowing how to help him not be in pain.
"How..how does your leg feel?" She spoke, trying to keep any stuttering out of her voice despite how she felt. She had to be strong for him.
She stared at Bane before looking back at Kas, hoping that he helped and didn't actually make the injury worse.
Kas reached out and took Jasper's hand, his own shaking as he gripped her tightly. They whined weakly, closing their eyes for a moment as they tried to recover. "Mmnh… it's… it's a little better, I think, j-just… hurts a lot right now. Throbbing…" He replied, his voice soft and wavering. They still looked very pale, and he felt a bit dizzy as he leaned his head against the wall.
Bane heard the sickening pop and put Kas' leg down. He did not like the way it sounded. He moved away from the teen slightly, still wary of them. "So— who are you and how did you end up traveling alone?" He looked at Kas. The poor kid looked as if he might pass out. He grabbed a small plastic water bottle from his bag and slid it to Kas. It was the last one he had and would have to resort to drinking from flowing water. "Be careful. Don't try getting up, either. It won't help you." Bane bit the inside of his cheek. "It'll hurt for a little, but it'll get better…I hope."
"Mmnh… t-thanks…" Kas replied breathlessly, accepting the water and drinking a little of it. He knew the importance of saving resources, so they didn't plan to drink it all by any means. He looked up at Bane when he was addressed again, their eyes distant and glazed over. It took them a few seconds to process the question. "Oh, um… my parents died pretty early on, got turned and stuff, so I didn't really have much of a choice. Met her along the way and now we're traveling together."
"He's not alone now, he has me." She spoke as she looked at Bane from her position at Kas's side. She watched as they gave him a water bottle and then how he didn't drink all that much.
She was still rather protective of him, especially with bane being in such close proximity but she didn't pull out her knife yet. She didn't want to mess anything up for the both of them.
She let out a soft sigh as she stayed near his side, watching bane carefully.
Ryuu keeps a watchful eye out like a dog after hearing a rabbit squeal a few yards away. Until he sees a man about the size of the eiffel tower make his way up the steps and stopping at the level platform in front of them before toppling back down and hitting his head. Ryuu slaps his hands over his mouth with a gasp as he watches his fall, his eyes wide as saucers; only to gasp again when he perks his head back up.
He looks around for his gun, grabbing it beside him and opening the zipper. Panic rises when he's not able to open it immediately. He pulls his rifle out, already loaded and points it at the man. Ryuu was never one to "judge a book by its cover" but nowadays, you could never be too safe.
He levels it out on his knee though isn't able to get even a good look at the guy, his vision still blurry. He doesn't say anything, leaving the talking up to Frenchie. She seemed like more of the confrontational type anyway.
(Small Fry, Frenchie is gonna murder this man 😂)
Frenchie just waited for a minute as this behemoth of a man walked up to them. Okay, maybe walked was a strong word. It was more of a limp, in her opinion. And she tensed, she would fully admit to that. But then he turned and ran with his tail between his legs, tripped over his own feet, and nearly cracked his head open on the stairs and she relaxed.
Oh, so he's also a dumbass. Great.
Frenchie pushes down on the rifle when Ryuu pulls it up, pointing it down to the floor. "Stand down, Dumb. I don't think Dumber is really gonna be much of a threat when he can't even walk properly." She remarked dryly before getting to her feet to go make sure the guy wasn't dead. Or if he was, what she could salvage off of him. She stood back and looked him over, out of reach in case he tried to swing at her which she found highly unlikely but still. "So you're still alive. If you turn tail and run like a coward from all of your confrontations, I'm gonna consider it a miracle."
(Who's frenchie talking to?)
(Im pretty sure Bane. I’ll try to get a reply up tonight, but I need to do some school stuff first)
