“It’s Phoebe, that’s the knock we had decided on.” She said quickly standing up and opening the door “Phoebe! -oh. I see you brought guests.” She turned back into the room “Nykidia, mind going in the room for a second?” She asked nocely
(The room? Is that a safe room or just a typo?)
Scarlet shifted awkwardly, realizing that they had not thought this plan through. "…Hi…."
Nykidia froze. "What should I do?" She thought. "Run away? Attack? Are we caught? How?"
“Teresa,” Phoebe greeted, nodding her head. She didn’t smile. “Scarlet and a friend got out of the palace, and they need a place to stay.”
"No." She growled. "No. Tell them to go back. I don't care." Night stared at Scarlet with cold eyes.
Scarlet inhaled. Of course. What had they been thinking? Meeting the strange-looking girl's eyes unwaveringly, she tugged on Virgil's sleeve. "We should go."
"OoooooOOOOooooohhhhhhh no you don't." Nykidia said pulling Scarlet inside and pinning her against the wall. "You want to go back to tell your sweet mother about our hiding place. Well if you think that than you have another thing coming, sweetheart."
Virgil pulled magic around his fingers. "Do not touch my best friend." He said, his features becoming one of children's nightmares.
Scarlet grabbed the girl's arms and twisted them up and around, slipping past her and back to Virgil's side. She glared at all three of them, fingers twitching towards the knife at her belt. "First of all, you don't get to threaten me.", she spat. "Secondly, going back to my insane, cannibalistic mother after we worked so hard to escape is decidedly not, what we're going to do."
"You're not leaving here alive." Cade grumbled, pulling out his knife. "Don't try to convince us that you're not on your mother's side."
(ooh and the rivalry begins again)
"Do I have to repeat myself, do not touch her." Virgil growled, stepping in front of Scarlet. She didn't need it but, he would do it anyhow.
Scarlet unsheathed her own weapon. "I can do what I want, thanks. This was clearly a mistake, we are going to leave now."
Cade chuckled dryly. "No you aren't. You don't get the satisfaction of leaving here with your head. Same goes for your idiot friend here."
"Oh we don't get to talk to you like that? Well I'm sorry your highness but here we have every right to talk to you that way. Your mother drove us into hiding and here you are asking for help to get away from her." Nykidia said her voice dripping with sarcasm and hatred.
Teresa deadbolted the door and turned around “not until you give us answers. What might the daughter of the tyrant queen be doing here?” She smiled sickly sweet
Scarlet cocked an eyebrow at the boy, ignoring the girl. "I'd like to see you try. Come on, let's go." She grabbed Virgil's arm and pulled him back.
Night flew over there and dragged Scarlet back to Nykidia's grasp. Nykidia took a dagger out and held it to her throat. "Tell us what your doing here." she sneered.
"Ah- Okay." He said, the magic leaving his fingers as he was pulled along. "I'm sure we can find us somewhere to stay. Somewhere that isn't infested with idiots who can't face the truth." As he said this he smiled, revealing his sharp teeth.
Not missing a beat, Scarlet brought up her elbow and drove it sharply into the girl restraining her's stomach, slipping away again. "We're out of here." She grabbed Virgil hands and ran.
"Oh no you don't." Cade mumbled, running after the princess and her friend.
Virgil's head turned eerily. "Hurt her, you die." He said in a distorted voice, smiling that creepy smile again.
"What the f*ck?!" He exclaimed, slowing his pace a bit. Cade wasn't about to let the princess's creepy friend scare him though, so he continued after them.
"Night!" Nykidia yelled. Night snapped her fingers and shadows wrapped the two up. "Go ahead leave." Nykidia taunted.
