Alvor was rubbing his hip gently, his eyes wide as he watched his father tried to heal Rowan. He could see the confusion, he could see the strain. "Dad?" he asks quietly, his eyes soft as he held onto the other, kissing Rowan's shoulder. "Is something wrong?"
Halo rests his hand on John's bicep. "Love…?"
John took a deep breath. “I- I’ve just never felt that before…” He muttered distrustfully, as if Rowan’s hand could and would turn into some kind of demon and lunge out at him. “It’s- It’s just different, but I’m sure it’s fine.” John didn’t want to tell them exactly what he felt right now, he didn’t want to freak Rowan out. He’d tell Halo later, when they were alone. John refocused his energy, but this time he merely brushed it against Rowan’s disease—testing the waters. The power of the disease in Rowan’s hand was like lunging into pure never ending static. It made John tense.
Rowan watched John carefully, biting his lip. He leaned into Alvor, taking a wavering breath. Something was wrong. Alvor had so much confidence with his parents, yet now the man looked almost afraid to go on. But not a moment later, Rowan felt the magic from the other man touch him again. The ache in his hand intensified ever so slightly, but that happened sometimes. Nothing irregular, right?
Halo kisses his cheek gently, a small smile on his lips. "I'm sure it's okay." He mutters softly, his eyes gentle. He smiled. "Please… don't stress yourself. If you need breaks, both of you, then take them. Healing is a slow process, and very energy consuming." He warns gently before focusing and letting his energy flow into John.
Alvor ran his hand gently along Rowan's good arm. He smiled at his parents before looking at Rowan. He focused, willing his own energy into the other, to strengthen Rowan, to help him. He wanted to do whatever he could to help the other.
John, after a moment of cautiously brushing his magic against Rowan, pierced through the disease in his hand, but fear struck deep in him when, for a very brief second, he almost felt himself get lost. He quickly pulled away and retracted his hand, and Rowan quickly pulled his hand closer to himself. John was a little out of breath, even though he hadn’t thought he used much magic. For what seemed to be only a few seconds for him was actually a couple minutes.
Rowan felt John’s magic shoot into him, but wasn’t met with relieving gentleness that he’d expected. He was met with pain. Lots and lots of pain. Rowan’s face twisted with hurt and he was glad when John pulled away. Rowan quickly shifted to face Alvor a little better and to snuggle closer to him, trying to sap comfort off of the other. But when he looked down at his hand, he realized to his shock… he could move his pointer finger. He could move it back and forth about an inch or so without feeling pain. “Alvor, look…”
Halo kept his hand on John's shoulder, his eyes soft as he glances at his husband. "John? Love?" He asks softly as he gently rubbed his arms. "Baby?" He mutters softly. He couldn't sense anything wrong, but there was a difference in John's energy. "Do you need anything?" He whispers softly.
Alvor starts when he saw pain take over Rowan's expression. Alvor hurried and kissed his cheek gently, his hand cupping Rowan's face. "Hey, hey… Breathe…" He whispers softly, peppering Rowan's face with kisses. "Are you okay? What happened?" He whispers as he gazes at the other. He looked down at the Rowan called his name. His eyes widen, "Does it hurt?" He murmured, his eyes focused on the moving digit. "Baby… you're healing." He looks up at the other and laughs softly, kissing Rowan's lips gently. "Thank you dad." He glances at his father.
“I think… I think I just need a break. Just a little tired is all,” John muttered softly, those that didn’t shake the unease in his gut. That hadn’t felt natural. It wasn’t a cut, it wasn’t an infection, it wasn’t a virus. It felt otherworldly, it almost felt more like magic than an injury. He needed to talk to Halo later… just not now. Not in front of his son and Rowan.
“I’m okay, I’m okay…” Rowan mumbled softly, so amazed by how he could move his finger. “It- It doesn’t hurt. I can’t believe it.” Rowan laughed, joy bubbling out of him as he kissed Alvor. “It works. I’m healing.” Rowan was still in shock. The impossible was happening. Rowan turned his head towards Halo and John, “Thank you, thank you so much.” I’m getting better.
Halo nodded before kissing his cheek. "Do you want to do…? Do you need some time outside? Do you want to sleep?" He asks gently, his eyes soft. He wanted to be here for John. He couldn't do what he used to be able to do and he felt so useless.
Alvor smiled a little bit, glad to see that he was happy. Glad that he was able to heal. Alvor kissed him back gently, his eyes shutting. He was so happy for his beloved boyfriend. "I know… And soon you'll be fully healed." he says softly as he glances at his parents.
Halo nods and smiles a little at Rowans happiness. "Of course, dear." He chuckles, his eyes soft.
“Outside. Let’s go outside,” John mumbled softly and managed a smile. His hand found Halo’s and he intertwined their fingers, needing that stability and safeness. Being completely honest… if Halo wasn’t here, beside him, John probably would’ve been too afraid to heal Rowan, to try to test whatever was in their hand.
Rowan smiled even more, glancing at Alvor’s parents’ intertwined fingers before she looked down to her crippled hand. One day… one day I’ll be able to use this hand to hold Alvor’s like that. Rowan moved her finger a little bit, stil in pure awe of it. The fact that she was actually going to heal, the evidence sitting right in front of her… it was amazing.
Halo nods and squeezes his hand gentle. "Of course. We'll be back in a few minutes, Alvor. You two take it easy, okay?" He says softly, making sure that he got a nod from Alvor before looking up at John in concern. It was rare for him to see John this distressed. He had only appeared nervous or scared when Halo first met him, or when Alvor was on his death bed. He kissed his husbands cheek before guiding him out of the room.
Alvor looked up when Halo addressed him and nods. "Of course dad." He says happily, his eyes gentle. "Take your time." He sets his head on Rowan's shoulder and kisses the crook of her neck. He watched her move her finger a little bit and smiled softly. "It's going to take some time, but do you think you can do it?" He asks, holding her close.
John was glad to take a step out with Halo. He held his hand and began wandering in the general direction of the hospital’s exit. Fresh air would do him good, to wipe away the oily feeling that the disease in Rowan’s hand left on him. John didn’t speak all the way out, wanting to put some space between himself and that disease as if he spoke about it, something horrible would lunge out at him. Finally, when John walked out the doors with Halo to get some fresh air, and John made sure no one was around, he spoke, “I… it was like it was smothering me. I’ve never felt something like that before. I… for a second I was worried I couldn’t… I- I don’t know.” John bit his lip nervously, his eyes like marbles full of worry.
(Tbh up to you if Halo has ever encountered something like this disease before)
Rowan grinned brightly, still obsessed with her moving finger, “I can do it, it wasn’t even that much pain. It’ll be worth it.” Rowan turned her head to kiss Alvor’s cheek, joy bubbling out of her. “One day I’m gonna be able to hold both your hands at once. One day I’m gonna be able to wrap both my arms around you and feel no pain.”
Halo walks beside him, squeezing his hand three times, a simple way of telling him that he was here and that he loved him. He smiled warmly at the other and kissed his cheek. Once they got out Halo offered a gentle smile. He listened intently, his eyes never leaving John's face. He thought for a moment before shaking his head. "I've never heard an illness fighting back like that." He whispers as he hugs his husband. "But what I do know." He whispers, as he gently guides John to look at him, "Is that we are going to face this together, like we always do." He assures gently.
Alvor smiled as he watched his sweet angel was happy. "It will be worth it baby. And I'll be with you every step of the way." He kisses her cheek and nuzzles into her shoulder. "And, my love I promise you we will do everything in our power to help you."
“Promise?” John whispered, a bit of his fear and worry leaking into his voice. John hadn’t felt so small in a long while. He didn’t know what was going to happen, he was honestly worried… what if he couldn’t heal Rowan? What if John failed his son and his son’s lover?
“Thank you, Alvor,” Rowan told him brightly, warmth swelling into her heart, “That means everything to me. You mean everything to me.” Rowan grinned brightly at Alvor, at the love of her life. She had something worth fighting for, and most certainly would never give it up.
Halo smiled gently. "John, how much have we been through together? We can do this together." He whispers as he kisses John's cheek. "Of course I promise. I promised in our vows. Through sickness and health, through prosperity and failure. I will be with you always to support you and our child." He assures. "So let the failure slip from your mind because I am here to help you."
He smiled at her and nods. "Of course, my little rose." He purrs as he kisses her cheek. He owed everything to Rowan. She had saved him when he was sick, and now he's returning the favor. "I think I should say thank you." He whispers. "For loving me."
John heart warmed, and just like that, his worries were eased. Sure, Halo couldn’t technically heal people like he used to, but he healed John in a way that was better. He healed his worries and his fears. John immediately wrapped his arms around Halo’s waist in a tight hug, mumbling, “Thank you, Halo. Thank you for everything.” For always being here for me whenever I feel unsteady, for comforting me when I need comfort. “Gosh I love you.”
Rowan blushed, leaning into the kiss a tiny bit. “You have nothing to thank me for. I should be saying the same exact thing to you.” Rowan let out a soft giggle, kissing Alvor sweetly. Sure, she saved him, but Alvor was giving her love in return. That’s all Rowan could ever ask for and more.
Halo was glad to see his husband ease when Halo talked to him. He kissed John's cheek gently as he held John closer. "I'm always here for you." He whispers, his hand running through John's hair. "Of course, baby." He whispers. "I love you, forever and always." He gently cups John's face, his eyes searching Johns. "I love you so much, and we will get through this together."
Alvor kissed her slowly, his eyes shutting for a moment. "I have everything to thank you for." He whispers, his eyes gentle. "You saved me. And you hadn't been there I would have died…" he whispers as he held onto her. "I owe you for everything." He smiled. "And you love me, which I could not be happier about."
John smiled and leaned his head into Halo’s arm. “You always know how to fix things…” John mumbled softly with a smile. Halo fixed him so many times. He was John’s rock in the storm, just as John would do the same for Halo. They were meant for each other. Halo knew how to help and comfort John whenever he needed it, and gosh John just loved him.
Rowan’s heart swelled with love. “You love me in return though,” Rowan told him with a smile, “That’s all I ever want.” She kissed his lips, soaking in his warmth and touch. Rowan loved him. She’d never not love him.
Halo ran a hand through John's hair. "I try to offer good advice." He laughs quietly, kissing his forehead. He owed John so much. Just for being there with him- gosh. Halo had gotten so lucky in the husband department. John was everything to him. This man he had met on the battlefield so long ago… Now they were here, together. They were taking care of their son, and they were helping their son's lover. Halo could not have asked for a more perfect life.
Alvor smiled, as he felt warmth, something much warmer then when Rowan was healing him, run through his veins and chest. "I will love you forever." He whispers as he kisses her nose. "And you are all I could ever want." He mutters softly, resting his forehead against hers. He would never want to stop hearing those sweet words leaving her lips. He tightened his grip around her, kissing her neck softly.
John laughed softly, leaning into the kiss. Everything would be fine. They’d get through this, John would be able to heal Rowan. John was so glad they’d gotten married. So, so glad. John loved him. Halo had stolen his heart and John loved him. John leaned forward and kissed Halo’s lips, savoring how they connected so well.
Rowan grinned bright at the kiss on his nose. Gosh she loved him. She really, really loved him. She tilted her head to give Alvor more access and her hands found his. She gently pulled them to the hem of her shirt, a silent invitation. Rowan knew what she wanted, she knew that she loved Alvor. She knew that she’d always love him.
(Sorry about that love. I'm back)
Halo's arms wrap steadily around John's waist, holding him into a tight embrace. "I love you, my darling angel." He whispers as he kisses Johnn back. Gosh he was so relieved to have this man as his husband. This beautiful, selfless, kind, warm-hearted man. Halo was so grateful that he had been the lucky one to marry John. "I love you, beyond the stars." He whispers quietly.
Alvor was more then happy with the other. She was his life line, his hope, his joy. He wanted nothing more then to stay by her side. He kissed slowly at her neck, savoring how soft her skin was. He caressed her hips slowly when he felt her move his hands. He slowly pulled away from her neck to gaze at her. He seemed to be memorizing her features as his fingers fiddled with the Hem of her shirt. He loved her, more then anything in this world. "Are you sure?" His voice was soft, gentle and concerned. He didn't want to do anything to Rowan that might hurt her.
(No need to apologize man, take all the time you need! I haven’t been on much either lately so it’s no big deal)
John’s heart swelled with warmth. “I couldn’t ask for a better man to spend the rest of my life with,” He murmured softly and tucked his wings around Halo and himself and snuggled closer. “I am so glad we met that day. I’m so glad fate aligned just so for us to meet,” John loved Halo, and gosh he was so grateful for how lucky they’d gotten when they met and fell in love.
Rowan’s eyes fluttered closed, “Maybe just a little bit?” She whispered softly. Rowan wanted to be touched to be held, to be caressed. She trusted Alvor so much, she wanted him to touch her. At least just a little bit, just to feel his hands a little and feel his warmth against her skin. Rowan borderline needed it, that comfort and normalcy it could bring to her life.
Halo kissed him slowly, sighing happily as he relaxed. "I could be offered everything, but nothing would be more fulfilling then having you beside me." He whispers as he wraps his arms around the others waist. "I'm very lucky to have you as my angel." He whispers as he kisses his forehead. "You're all I ever need and want." He whispers as holds onto the other.
He nods, his lips settling on her neck. "Alright." He mutters softly, his hands gently caressing her waist. "I love you." He whispers as he holds her, his hands travelling along her skin, memorizing her curves. He sighed happily and looked at her with gentle eyes.
John kissed him back, taking his sweet time to enjoy the moment they could have together. “Gosh Halo that’s so sweet…” John murmured, his eyes twinkling wit joy and love. This man… this man was all his, he was so lucky to have Halo. “I love you, I love you, I love you,” John murmured, smiling and kissing Halo’s cheek a couple times. He would never get enough of this guy.
Rowan hummed in adoration, enjoying this so much. Enjoying the warmth and comfort his simple hands brought her. “I love you too,” She murmured, soaking in everything about Alvor. Everything she was lucky to have found.
Halo let his eyes flutter shut, those kisses making him hunger for more. He sighed as he looks up at his beloved husband. "I love you." He whispers as he kisses John's forehead. "And I always will. I am always here to support you and love you." Halo smiled at the kisses to his cheek before he turned John to face him, kissing him on the lips. He loved how affectionate John was, and how lucky he was to be married to the other.
Alvor's hands, strong and sturdy, caressed her sides as he kissed her forehead. "I love you so much." He mutters as he turns his gaze up to her. "Always and forever." He kissed her neck slowly, his eyes shutting in bliss. He was so lucky to have the amazing person in front of him.
John readily kissed him back, hummed into Halo’s lips. “Halo… you’re the best man I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful I can spend the rest of my life with you.” John leaned into Halo’s chest and breathed in his scent. This was all he’d ever ask for, because it was impossible to ask for anyone better than Halo—no one was better than Halo.
Rowan’s heart kicked up a couple notches. “I love you so much too. Always and forever,” Rowan echoed, her good hand gripping onto Alvor’s a little bit tighter. Her left arm, though in pain, wrapped itself around Alvor’s neck and held him close. She loved him more than anything, she loved him more than breathing. Alvor was simply perfect for her.
Halo held onto his lover, his eyes shutting. He wanted nothing more then to stay like this. He hummed and smiled a little bit. "Me too, my darling love." He whispers as he kisses the others forehead and sighed happily. "You're a wonderful, wonderful man John." He mutters as he runs his hand along John's bicep. "God I love you…" He mutters as he leans into the other.
Alvor held onto her, held onto her words. God he loved her, so so much. "You are all I ever needed." He whispers as he kisses her shoulder gently. He wanted nothing more then to be there for the other. To support Rowan in anything she ever wanted.
