Alvol smiled before gently helping Rowan up, setting a gentle kiss to her forehead. He smiled gently at her, squeezing her hand and looking towards the door, sighing softly. His body hurt, specifically his lungs. He coughed harshly, spitting out petals. He heaved and tried to calm himself.
Rowan made herself stand up a little straightener a little bit -the nurse always worried too much about her whenever she was out of the bed- and forcing herself a comfortable distance from Alvor. Not close enough for someone to immediately assume they had just kissed, but close enough the they could assume they were already acquainted quite well.
The nurse walked in, worry on her face but it turned into a smile when she saw Rowan and Alvor. “Oh good, I was worried there when you weren’t in your room. One of us could’ve help you get to the pool, you know.”
Rowan nodded, “Yeah, Alvor helped me. What is it?”
The nurse smiled again, but this time you could tell it was fake, especially when she delivered the news, “Your mom is coming.” Rowan could already feel herself sadden, and it shown in her eyes. She loved her mother, she really did, but…
Alvor let her stand and hummed softly and looked over towards her. He wanted to move next to her again, but he let her keep her comfortable distance. He stood quietly as she talked with the nurse. He hissed at the pain in his lungs, hacking softly before stumbling faintly. He steadied himself before coughing again.
Rowan glanced at Alvor with worry, the nurse’s eyes widening a little before suggesting softly, “Why don’t you two get out of the water and get dried off.” The nurse came to the edge of the pool and Rowan grabbed Alvor’s arms and gently tugged him over to help him out. She tried her best to hide her nervousness upon hearing her mother would be here again, because right now Alvor mattered and she could deal with getting ready for her mother later.
Alvor took a deep breath before trying to calm down. He lets Rowan gently pull him out of the pool and he coughs harshly again, his eyes watering as he kneeled over and tired to get a hold of his breath. He managed to control his breathing and he took a deep breath, composing himself. "S-sorry… I'm okay." he mutters softly, wiping some petals from his lips. "My apologies."
Rowan squeezed his hand, biting her lower lip. “You don’t have to apologize,” She told him softly.
The nurse came to Rowan side to help her to their room, helping her get to the bed as well. Then, the nurse already got a set of clothing out for both of them, pausing to make sure both Rowan and Alvor were okay.
He held onto her hand gently, shutting his eyes as he tries to regain his breathing. He lets the nurse lead them back to their room, changing quickly before settling into the sheets. He shivered a little.
After the nurse made sure both were doing okay, she helped Rowan get changed. Rowan managed to hide her winces as the nurse guided her arms and legs in an out of the clothes. She was left shivering at the cold kiss of the air on her bare skin, but it wasn’t long before the nurse was helping her into dry clothing. Thankfully the nurse had to go drop off their clothing in the laundry, so Rowan has some time alone with Alvor. “Are you alright?” She asked softly, biting her lower lip.
Alvor did the respectable thing and looked away as Rowan changed. His wing's fluttered weakly. They were loosing their vivid colors, fading into a graying color. When the nurse left he quieted and took a deep trembling breath. Rowan was so worried for him. Alvor knew he was dying. He had at most five days left. He didn't know what to do or think. He sat up slowly before coughing harshly. He choked and gagged spitting petals into the floor beside him. He sighed and leaned back again. "Other then hacking up various types of flowers and the loom of death? I'm great." He chuckles softly before looking down. "Just… Just trying to lighten the mood." He hums quietly.
Rowan frowned. Their beds were too far apart, she wanted to hug him. And of course, despite her injury, when Rowan wanted something she would do what she could to try to get it. So she got up off the bed, stumbling just a little bit on her weak legs about crossed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around Alvor. Rowan knew, she knew, that it was risky to do something like this when she knew her mom was on her way, but she had time for now.
Alvor stared at the ceiling, trying to regain his breath only to cough more. He was angry, frustrated, and absolutely broken at the fact that he was going to die. He heard Rowan shift and he slowly turned towards her. When her warm, safe arms wrapped around him he trembled and held onto her desperately, not wanting to let go. He clung to her, breaking down completely. Alvor cried freely as he clung to Rowan. His wings wrapped around them weakly, shielding them from the world.
Rowan hands glowed as she tried using her magic again as she hugged onto Alvor and didn’t let him go. She willed those flowers to slow their growth, but she knew it wouldn’t do much since her power was pretty much spent from earlier. She wished Alvor wasn’t plagued with this, she wished he wouldn’t die. Rowan would do anything to help him out of this, she would do anything for a happy ending that Alvor deserved.
Alvor shivered, crying freely into her shoulder. He didn't want to leave her. He didn't want to die. He hated the fact that he was going to die so soon. He had just gotten Rowan, and his parents. His parents weren't even here. He slowly calmed down when he felt her magic surging through him, sighing happily as he did so. He wouldn't be able to stand this place if he hadn't met Rowan. He wouldn't have been able to fight either. He kissed her lips slowly, gentle, loving and passionate. He wanted to convey his adoration, love, and want for her.
Rowan kissed him back, sweetly, gently, and lovingly. She pulled herself closer to him, part of her wanting to get right on that bed with him so they could hold each other better. Rowan kissed him a little deeper, soaking him in because honestly… how much longer would they really have? She wanted to stretch each moment they had into a lifetime.
Alvor smiled gently at the other as she kissed him back. He never wanted to leave her side. He pulled her closer, gently tugging her beside him on the bed so she wouldn't be standing in an awkward position. He smiled a little, kissing her deeply in reply, his hands settling on her waist. He didn't want this to end. He never did. She was something that Alvor couldn't let go of.
As soon as she was pulled onto the bed with him she curled a leg around his leg and despite the pain in her arms she pulled herself flush against him. She kissed him a little deeper, her heart pounding so loudly she wouldn’t be surprise if Alvor could feel it too. She wanted to stay here like this forever. Rowan wanted time to stop so they wouldn’t be torn apart by the inevitable. No, not the inevitable, his parents will find a cure.
He held onto her her as she settled onto the bed. His arms were gently around her waist, kissing her lips. God her lips were so soft, so gentle. He wanted nothing more then to just to stay like this forever. He could feel her heartbeat, his own heart in sync with hers. "I love you." He whispers, smiling gently at the other. He didn't want to think about the looming deadline for him.
Rowan kissed him back passionately. “I love you too,” She whispered back softly, then pressed her forehead into his. “I love you so so so much.” Rowan didn’t want to run out of time. She knew she’d regret so much if she never got to say all the things she wanted to say to Alvor, and do all the things she wanted to do. Rowan wanted to tell him she loved him over and over again, she wanted to swim more in the pool with him, she wanted to dance with him, she wanted to laugh with him, she wanted to do everything she possibly could while they still had time.
Alvor smiled at her, brushing some hair from her face tenderly. "I love you most." he whispers as he kisses her nose gently, smiling at her. He wanted to be with her forever. He never wanted to leave her side. He sighed softly and nuzzled into her, memorizing her scent, her shape, her everything. He smiled at her and sighed softly in content. She was his peace in the war around him. She was and is everything to him. He kissed her lips slowly. "Thank you," he whispers. "For everything…"
Rowan smiled at the kiss on the nose, “That’s not fair, I love you most,” She grinned. She probably smelled like lavender mixed with honey, and of course a bit like the disinfecting soap doctors always used since she’d been in the hospital for so long. She kissed him back, savoring the taste of his gentle lips. Rowan murmured softly onto Alvor’s lips, “No, thank you…”
He chuckles softly. "Then I love you morestest." he hums as he holds her, loving her gentle and soothing smell. He wanted nothing more then to just stay like this and… Be. He didn't want to worry about his impending doom. He nuzzles into her. "I suppose we both owe each other then." He laughs softly.
Rowan laughed, joy bubbling out of her. She hadn’t felt joy like that in a long time. She hadn’t had a companion like Alvor in a long time—well, she hadn’t had a companion like him ever. Rowan decided that…. she very much liked being held and holding someone. She trusted Alvor, despite everything. Despite how little the time they had to spend with each other. Rowan frowned a little, snuggling even closer to Alvor as she whispered, “Hey, Alvor… can I ask you a question?”
Alvor had never experienced feelings like this. It was a new adventure to him. It was a good thing. All he had ever felt was platonic love towards his parents. But he had never felt this kind of love before. He leaned into her touch, placing kisses to her cheeks, lips, and forehead. "Yeah, love?" He asks quietly in return.
“Alvor… if you’re-“ Rowan bit her lip, trying desperately to word this in a not-awkward, not-forceful way, “I wanted to know- Just that, would you want to- I really like you and- ohmygoshIhatehowI’msayingthis,” Rowan bit her lip again in frustration, taking a deep breath. She wanted to ask this question without making it awkward between the two of them, but that seemed near impossible. “I guess what I’m trying to ask is how fa-“
“Rowan? What are you doing?” A snippy, feminine voice interjected, and Rowan almost fell off of Alvor’s bed in a panic. There, in the doorway, was her mother. “Get off his bed,” She ordered immediately, and Rowan was already trying to get to her feet. ‘Trying’ was a keyword, because her aching joints were making it much more difficult than what it needed to be.
He listened, his eyes trained only on her, his gaze gentle as he traced her face. She was beautiful to him. He listened intently, letting her take her time. Alvor was patient. He held her hand gently as she tried to explain but starts when a woman's voice cuts Rowan off, also startling his beloved angel off of his lap. He looks up at the woman before gently helping Rowan up, offering her a kind smile of assurance. He stands as well, gently picking her up and setting her on her bed. He offers a kind smile before returning to his own bed. He winced as he tried his hardest to keep back a cough. It failed and he hacked up a flower petal, wheezing softly before settling back down again. He whined a little. He hoped his dad's would be back soon.
