And they’re like us… with wings… “How many people do you know?” John asked as they continued walking, tilting his head to the side a little bit.

"Only a few." Halo smiles. "It's incredible. There are people like us, Halfbreeds and breeds of I don't even know what. It's amazing there."

“I can’t wait to meet them… it’ll be so cool,” He grinned, then wrapped an arm around Halo’s waist as they walked, “I still find it hard to believe all this…” He happily hummed as he looked down the rows of trees as if he could see the town from there.

Halo laughs gently. "I'm glad to hear that you're so excited." He kisses John's cheek as they walk. He was very happy. He loved the other so much. He was getting married to John soon. Nothing could be more perfect.

John smiled in response, squeezing Halo’s hand. They were here, they were safe. John was happy and safe with Halo, he trusted him with every fiber in his being. There would be no more comrade deaths, there would be no more battles. Only him and Halo. Safe.

Halo smiles. He was with John. The love of his life. The man he was going to marry. He was so happy. He loved John dearly. Halo perks. "Smell that?" It was the smell of bread being made, the smell of bustling people, the smell of strong earth. "We're close." Halo giggles.

John took a deep breath through his nose, letting out a hum of pleasure with the familiar smells of freshly baked bread and of something that reminded him of mornings on the farm. He grinned, picking up his pace, “Well hurry up then,” He let out a laugh, eyes twinkling with joy.

Halo laughs happily. "Alright! Alright! I'm coming!" He chuckles and walks beside John. "There's no need to rush." He kisses John's cheek gently.

John smiled even more, but didn’t slow his pace because of the excitement that captivated him. The smell of baked bread seemed to strengthen, John taking a deep breath and humming happily, “I can’t wait to meet some people like us.”

Halo nods and smiles warmly, squeezing his hand gently. He was excited as well. He kisses John on the lips, then chuckles. "Well. We're almost there. Look." He points down the hill to show a small village like place, around it was a giant sheild.

John eyes brightened, “Finally,” He let out a tiny laugh, squeezing Halo’s hand back. Here it was. A whole town full of people like them. “It’s… it’s a little haven.” He grinned even more, in awe of the town.

"Yeah. It's hidden from the outside world." He smiles and chuckles softly, kissing John's cheek. He spreads his wings and chuckles softly, giggling softly. "Let's go." he says happily.

John smiled excitedly, quickening his pace just a little as they got there. We’re finally here… John was amazed, and really wanted to look around, but his shy side took control and he didn’t leave Halo’s side quite yet. Besides, if Halo already knew some people here…

Halo smiles and squeezes John's hand. "Don't worry. Just stay by me." He says gently. He withdraws a list from his pocket and hums in thought. "Alright. We'll save wood for last, since that's the heaviest. Charms, herbs, food, hmmm… More blankets. Winter clothes." He laughs softly and kisses John's cheek. "Ready?"

“Yeah,” John kissed Halo’s cheek back playfully, eyes sparkling as they walked in. He was still amazed by the people here, even though he had yet to meet someone. I just can’t believe it… a whole town of people undiscovered by the world…

Many people there looked like regular humans. Others looked like hybrids of animals. And some, just didn't look human at all. Halo looked completely at ease as he bought what they needed, using all sorts of coins, speaking in different languages and sometimes just skipping places. "Halo! Is that you?" A girl with flowing white hair, wide silver eyes, paled skin, and tattoos trailing down her neck ran towards them. "Ah. Hello Natalia." He laughs gently as she hugs him.

John stood slightly to the side, thankful for another english speaker so he could know what they were saying. “Uh, hi,” John added from the side, biting his lip for a second before he introduced himself awkwardly, “I- I’m John.”

Natalia inspects John, looking at the ring then towards Halo. She smiles at John, "It's a pleasure to meet you, John." She chuckles. Halo smiles. "John, this is an old friend of mine. Natalia is a sorceress. Natalia, this is my fiance, John. He's a new born angel." She coos. "He's very impressive. A warrior before he became an angel, I'm guessing?" She giggles softly.

John blushed a little, “Nice to meet you too,” He wrapped his arm around Halo’s waist as he replied, “Yeah, I was a soldier for the States… but that life is long gone.” He smiled a little at Halo, leaning his head on his fiance’s shoulder, “I would be lying if I said I was sad about it. My life is a lot brighter now.”

She coos again. "That is so sweet! You really are lucky, John. Halo wasn't one to get out if his cottage. He was so sickly looking for a while. What's it like being a demon, Halo?" Halo shrugs. "Powerful." She nods and smiles as she glances at both of them. "What were the states like, John? I want to know. I've never seen them."

John laughed a little bit, hugging onto Halo a little tighter. “The states are nice, I grew up on the farm with my family, so we weren’t really exposed to a lot of crime or anything like that. I had a lot of good memories with my family there,” John told her, smiling nostalgically.

Natalia beams. "We've been sort of staying here in our little refuge. This is all we have. The brave ones like Halo go out into the world, but many of us stay under this sheild. To human eyes we appear to be nothing more than a mountain." She chuckles softly before glancing around. "If you want, I can show you around. It's grown a bit since you left Halo."

“Really? You wouldn’t mind?” John looked from Natalia to Halo, his eyes sparkling with excitement again, “Do we have time? Please, it would be really fun.” He was just so happy to be here with Halo… a dream, this was a dream come true.

Halo laughs quietly. "Alright. Alright. Besides. It'd be nice to see the town I grew up in again… As a supernatural of course." He laughs quietly. She nods and giggles. "Yes of course! Follow me." She says happily.

John smiled even more, his hand finding Halo’s and intertwining his fingers with his fiance’s as they began walking. Here they were, in this perfect little town, together, safe- it was such a perfect atmosphere, nothing could possibly go wrong.
