Halo blushed softly. "There's not much to tell. I mean…" He sighs. Most of his life was in pain, going through abuse. To the point where he threw himself off of a building. He chuckles softly. "I had a brother. Twin actually."
Halo blushed softly. "There's not much to tell. I mean…" He sighs. Most of his life was in pain, going through abuse. To the point where he threw himself off of a building. He chuckles softly. "I had a brother. Twin actually."
“What was he like?” John tilted his head a little. He didn’t want to pry too much in caution of forcing Halo to bring up bad memories, yet at the same time he wanted to know more of what his husband-to-be life was like.
Halo hums in thought. "Smart. Talented. Funny too. He made life interesting. That was for certain." He smiles a little. "He looked nothing like me."
“What about the rest of your family?” John asked, listening intently. He’d never be able to meet his late in-laws, but he still wanted to know about them- at least a little.
Halo's eyes darken and he goes quiet. But before John could speak, he growls lowly. "They were the most vial creatures to walk the Earth. I'm glad they're gone."
“Oh…” John lips curled into a frowned, a spark of anger lighting in him for a second before he quickly doused it. It was nonsense to be angry at the dead, but… “You deserved better, then.” If Halo seemed to hate them… they must’ve been truly bad.
Halo sighs. "Let's get off the subject of that. What about your parents?" He asks curiously. He glances over at John and offers a sweet smile to the other.
“They were nice, a little bit worried for me joining the army, but nice.” John told him, then laughed quietly, “They’re probably fretting over me right now, but I’m sure they’ll get over it.”
Halo smiles. He was glad John had such wonderful parents. It was rather nice. He nods and looks forward then slows. "Get down." He whispered pointing to the ground. He seemed tense as he searched the sky.
John was immediately alert, a look of fear crossing his face. He swallowed, letting himself descend towards the ground. What’s happening? His eyes looked around wildly, but he kept his fear on a tight leash.
Halo stayed in his position, searching the shy one more time before lowering next to John. "Keep quiet." He whispered, placing a hand on John's shoulder. There was a loud roar from the sky, making the Earth shudder.
John jumped, shrinking where he was. Nonononononono… please no… John shuddered, looking around. He whirled, thinking he saw a flash of a dark beast’s body, only to find the shadows caused by the trees. I’m just seeing things, it’s okay, it’s okay…
Halo grabs his shoulder. "John. I'm right here. Focus on me." He whispers, kissing his cheeks. "It's okay." He kisses his cheeks.
John stared into Halo’s crimson eyes, focusing on him. Keeping his breathing under control. And for once, that fear balked, and stayed back. John knew where he was, and he knew he was safe with Halo. “What’s going on?” He whispered, but panic didn’t taint his voice this time.
"Wind dragons. Very territorial. And rare. Usually they're busy in the other world." He mutters softly as he searches the sky. "They look like do a dragons." He whispers.
John leaned closer to Halo, watching the sky cautiously. So dragons do exist…? “Could that be why a storm came in so fast yesterday? A wind dragon?” He whispered, glancing at Halo’s face before returning his eyes to the sky.
Halo nods. "That could be a reason." He replies, biting his lip. He takes a deep breath. It seemed to calm down. But there was no telling with dragons. He holds onto John protectively.
John leaned his head into Halo’s chest, counting his heartbeats as he kept his eyes on the sky. “Do you think it’s gone now?” John asked quietly, holding his breath. If they got out with no trouble… that’d be so lucky…
Halo nods. "But just to be safe, let's go by foot for a little." He says gently, kissing John's cheek. His wings shrink into his back and he slips on his hoodie. He turns to John. "Focus and want your wings to go into your back." He orders gently.
John furrowed his brows in concentration, and after a few seconds his wings shrunk into his back, and he let out a quiet gasp. “Wow…” It was strange now, to not have the extra limbs.
Halo chuckles. "Pretty neat, yeah?" He smiles a little and takes John's hand. "Alright. Let's go." His smile only grew as they walked. He loved John so much. It made him so happy.
John’s sighed happily and Halo’s warm hand took his. He leaned his head on Halo’s shoulder as they walked together, trusting his love so much that he even closed his eyes. Safe.
Halo smiles as they walk, the forest quiet except with the sound of nature. It relaxed him. He looks around and smiles, tugging John with him. He kisses John's forehead as the walk, glad to see the other relaxed.
John smiled warmly at the kiss, walking close to his love. “How long do you think it will take us to get to the town?” He asked quietly, looking at Halo with curiosity.
Halo smiles a bit. "Only a little while." He replies, squeezing John's hand. "I'm sure you will love it. It's very peaceful. The only time it gets really busy is during harvest."
