Arthur squirmed a little, wanting to get down so he could hunt.
Shadow let him down.
Arthur backed away a bit, before shifting. His fur was fairly well kept, though thin and slightly ragged.
"What?" Shadow asked.
"I'm hungry.." said Arthur softly, turning to prowl into the woods, focusing on staying quiet, keeping one ear on Shadow.
"Okay," Shadow said.
Arthur prowled into the trees, looking for food, looking back once or twice to see if Shadow would follow. his paw still hurt from yesterday, and he was tired. But hunger forced him to keep moving.
Shadow followed, helping with the hunting.
Arthur was soon creeping towards a rabbit, a nice fat one. He kept one wary eye on Shadow, the main reason he'd lost his last catch A few minutes later he lept for it, but his back paw caught in the bush and he ended up falling on his face with a yelp.
Shadow rushed to him.
Arthur groaned, getting back to his feet.
"You okay?" Shadow asked.
"Does it look like I'm okay?!" asked Arthur, wanting to curl up and die already.
"No," Shadow said.
"Then there's your answer…"
"Is there anything I can do?" Shadow asked.
"I don't know… kill me?"
"I would never!" Shadow said.
"May as well…" said Arthur glumly, "Put me out of my misery.."
Shadow looked at him. "No! If I was going to kill you I would've forever ago!"
"Hey, you could be doing the opposite." he said.
"I don't want to lose you!" Shadow said.
"Prove it."
"This might sound crazy, but… I love you," Shadow said.
Arthur looked up at him, surprised. "H-how do I know that's true?"
