(I'm so.sorry I didn't see your post)
Jezariah purses his lips together "wow. Guess I've stayed on the downlow pretty well. I haven't even ran into any looters. You're the first person I've found." He shrugs "guess it's the area I was in? I haven't even been back to my hometown" he admits, as he was a bit scared to go back and find his mom dead. Totally avoiding thinking about it in general

Jesse stepped outside, feeling a slight breeze blow the smell of her stolen cologne towards Elodie and her hair in her face.
She sits beside her, leaning forward and resting her elbows on her knees as they dangled down off the edge.
She slips two cigarettes out of the package handing her one, lighting her own and setting it in between her lips, taking a nice, deep breath and letting the smoke burn her throat and chest.
She takes the cigarette in between her fingers and tips it towards Elodie's to light her own, saving lighter fluid.
(Reposting Jesse's part since it's on the last page just in case yall miss it)
Elodie had the cigarette between her lips, as Jesse leaned over to light her cigarette; with her own, Elodie found her face burning with a blush.
When her cigarette was lit, she leaned back, her hands against the ground and inhaled from her cigarette, stopping just enough to blow the smoke out without using her hands, she felt the smoke coat her throat and gave a noise of satisfaction.
(no worries!)
"I'm glad to be the first human you met," Gus replied agreeably. "Seems like one of those hoodlums or crazy survivors wouldn'ta left a real good impression." He was about to say more, but then shut up suddenly and drew to a halt, glancing around. "Hear that? I think somethin' big is up ahead. We'd better pipe down 'n watch our step."
Jesse leans back away from her and leans back to lay down on the concrete, looking up at the darkening sky, blowing smoke up in the air, her dark hair falling out of her face.
"You smoke often?" She turns to look up at her

Jezariah went to reply to his first few comments but stops, looking up and around.
"Well thats great…" He sighs "you see anything?" He asks, squinting around
Gus nudged his hat down so the brim blocked the sun, peering at the street in front of them. "Nothin' yet. Sounded like it might be in one o' them houses right now. I reckon if we go around, we won't have no trouble." He nodded at an alley to their right and carefully snuck over to it, waving for Jez to follow. "After this block, we'll be on top of the area that could have people in it."
Jezariah blocks the sun from his eyes with his hand to his forehead before looking over to Gus, following him into the alley, now looking out onto the street they had been on a few moments ago, a small puddle in one of the potholes he focused on reflecting white sky, though dark clouds gathering together where they were headed.
I hope it rains. We could use some in this heat
He turns his attention back to Gus "right. I.sure hope so" he says, stepping awaynfrom the wall and making his way through the alleyway
Once they were through the alley and on the next street over, Gus relaxed again. "If we don't find anyone else purty soon, I vote we get outta this town and try somewhere else. There ain't as much food here as there is in th' woods, and th' monsters sure seem to like it here. I was headin' north before this, would that be fine with you? Assumin' this neighborhood's empty, acourse."
"I think I saw a motel or somethin somewhere up ahead, I don't know I didn't pay much attention to it. But we could maybe stay there for the night. It's what? 4?" He says going to look at his watch but remembering it had stopped working a while ago.
"But I'm all for skipping this town and going north. It gives me the creeps anyway" he says "I'm working on heading to DC. You heading anywhere specific?" He asks, peaking around the corner of a building.
Elodie shook her head in response, and followed Jesse. Lay back and using her hand to lift the cigarette from her lips, after taking a short hit, she blew the smoke into the air above her.
"No, it was something I did before, but like all the time…I tried to stop…" she said her mouth curving downward in a frown.
"My aunt, shes the adult I lived with, she hated it… so kinda yead I used to, but not so much anymore." She added slowly, then took another drag on her cigarette, blowing the gray smoke into the air.
Jesse kept her eyes on Elodie as she spoke, rolling onto her side and propping her head up with her hand, her elbow against the concrete "are you still trying to quit?" She asks, watching her lips close around the cigarette before the smoke.blew through them.
Elodie shook her head in response again.
"Im gonna die in this disgusting wreck of a world at some point, and I like smoking so i'm not gonna try to quit again, I have more important things to worry about, such as surviving" She said her head angled up towards the sky, she took another drag, and blew the smoke out of her nostrils.
Jesse sits up as she coughs, surprised, having not expected her to.say that.
"Shit man" she says through a cough, though it eventually turns into a small laugh "that's dark" she says, tapping ash off the end, watching it fall to the concrete, the red embers soon turning grey, then black.
Her eyes go back up to hers, "you got anyone to live for anymore?" She says, half jokingly
Elodie shook her head, the smile previously grazing her lips was completely gone. Her hands shook as she lifted the cigarette to her mouth and took a long drag, while blowing out the smoke, she tapped the ashes off the end.
"No, not anymore." She states quietly "they're both dead." She says with a tone of regret and sadness, she turnes her eyes to Jesse, their gaze meeting.
"What about you?" she asks
Jesse takes a long hit before replying, looking out over the small town before meeting Elodies eyes "my girlfriends out there somewhere. But I'm assuming the worst" she says in a more serious tone "we- we're in this gang or whatever you wanna call it" she lies "I lost her a while back to some-someone else.. But she's tough." She says, trying to reassure herself she was still alive.
Elodie gives a frown and takes a hit, she sees the cigarette is halfway gone, she stubs it out and places behind her ear, she sits up and gives Jesse a strong pat on the shoulder.
"I'm sure you'll find her-" she says while standing up and stretching, her eyes darting around.
"I'm gonna go inside, get some sleep" she adds, walking inside and shutting herself in her bedroom.
Where she slings herself onto the mattress resting on the floor.
Jesse leans forward at her pat, looking out over the skyline, taking another hit as Elodie left, not thinking much of her suddenly getting up and leaving.
The conversation got a bit more serious than Jesse had wanted it to but there was nothing to do about it.
She looks down towards the streets, looking to see if any reapers were around, seeing a few on the ground and through the windows of nearby windows. Luckily they were small enough, neither of the girls had anything to worry about since they were camping in the building.
if anyone is out there….I feel bad for them..
Elodie put her arm back over hear eyes and sighed, she had turned the strand of fairy lights on, and they crossed all over the room in different ways.
fuck me she thought to herself im out here stuck with a cute girl, and shes stuck on her maybe alive maybe not, girlfriend she thinks.
She sighs again and rolls on her side clutching her knees, fetal style. A tear drips down her chin and hit the pillow.
(Lol dw bb she ded💀)
Jesse closes her eyes, raking her ringed fingers through her dark hair, burning the cigarette out on the back of her hand before flicking it off of the building, not having much of a reaction, doing it more out of habit than anything.
I'll give her space. Her boyfriend probably died or something she thought to herself, assuming she had one before this happened.
She never was really good with people, seeming insensitive or rude. Though she was aware of this, she never had the desire to fix it until now. She worried for a split second if she had offended her in any way.
should I check on her?
She shakes her head
no dipshit that's the last thing she probably wants. Let the girl rest. She's been trying to all day
Elodie wiped her face, checking the mirror placed in her room, to see if you could tell she had been crying.
She smiled at herself in the mirror despite all the raw emotions swirling around inside of her, and the fact that she felt like shit didn't help either, but she wiped her face and smiled anyway. The only indication that she had been crying was her cheeks and nose were blotted with a slight pink tint, and her eyes looked heavy and tired.
She opened the door,
Click.
And stepped out into the hallway, she then slowly and quietly crept towards the roof, when she saw Jesse was still out there, she hid behind a fake plant, after some heavy breathing and what not, she had enough courage to face her. Approaching people, and just people in general had never been Elodie's strong suit; and apparently they still weren't.
She sat down next to Jessie again, pulling her knees to her chest, and wrapping her arms around them, she sighed audibly then looked up at the stars, some flickered; as if they were going out.
"Can I have another smoke?" she asked without separating her gaze from the night sky.
(I'm probably gonna drop out of this :( I'm barely keeping up with my o/o rps as it is)
Jesse found herself spacing out, thinking about the lie she had told Edolie back when she had been sitting up here.
Or what had been the truth.
Her mind wandered to her past, thankful this has started in some twisted selfish way because what had been before was worse.
To her at least.
In this life everything was pure. Kill the monsters. Protect the humans.
The monsters included the people who've hurt her. The people deserving of death and worse. And nobody would-or could punish her for doing so.
She shivers, pulling her arms around her in a comforting way as she closes her eyes to keep them from watering. She was a decently emotionless person, only emotional to anger and resentment.
She jumps at Elodies voice, her head whipping up to look at her as her hand went to the side where her gun was, though releasing her hold on it as soon as she saw who it was. Her caremel eyes glossed over with tears, she quickly turns to look over at the skyline.
"Uh…yeah sure" she says blinking away the tears, just now realizing they were apparent.
She takes out a cigarette, handing it to.her with the lighter. "You tryin to see how quickly you can kill yourself?" She asks
(I'm probably gonna drop out of this :( I'm barely keeping up with my o/o rps as it is)
Thats perfectly fine. I'm sorry to see you go. Have fun with your other role plays ♡
Elodie gave a smile and nodded, her body tense yet not.
"yep." She says taking the cigarette and the lighter, she inhales, the smoke coating her throat.
She handed the lighter back and glanced over at her.
"Why are you crying?" she asked the other girl softly.
Jesse scrunches her eyebrows "what?" She asks sharply,, playing it off as if she werent.
She looks her up and down "why were you?" She asks, looking at her splotchy face, taking the lighter and shoving it in the pocket of her green shorts.
