(Lol she gonna think about that a lot later)
Jesse's brows furrowed at the kiss, confused and taken aback. But she didn't react to it. As much as she could anyway.
She takes a deep breath before her arm around her, her hand slipping from her waist before walking towards the doorway.
She slips the gun from its holster in her side, pulling the hammer back.
Jezariah stands as quickly as possible, stumbling a little as he tried to regain his vision, as it was a little more than blurry.
He was just thankful there wasn't too much smoke in the air, shortening his life span by the second.
His hatchet lay on the floor a few feet away from him and all he had was a knife, the blade the size of a butter knife.
Like that was going to do anything.
Quickly he steps away from the stairwell and grabs his hatchet, dropping the knife.
Jesse looks back to Elodie, making sure she was still safe before stepping through the doorway, quickly turning the corner, the gun at eye's length.
Jezariah's breath stops as he sees the tall, rather huge woman step through the door and tower over him.
"Holy sh*t" he mumbles as she glares at him.
really? she thought, relaxing a bit on the inside.
"It's fine Elodie. Just some pussy" she says, pressing the gun to his chest as Jezariah stood in front of her. His hatchet still in hand but he froze. Obviously not expecting a giant to appear in front of him with a gun pressed to him instead of a screamer. At least with those he knee how to fight one. Kind of.
(Is that good or bad—?)
Elodie rounded the corner quickly, and stared at Jezariah with awe hooooolyyyyyy shittttttt she thought to herself.
she then put her hand on top on Jesse's chest and gave her sad, glassy eyes.
"Jess…let's put the gun down, maybe he's a good guy?" she said hopefully and skeptically.
She turned around, facing the strange man.
"You are good— right?" she asked him, her hand gripping the machete that lay in her hand, by her side.
Jas prefer the chocolate, the other stuff looked mushy and kinda weird… "does that actually taste good?" She frowned slightly tilting her head at it before seeing him leave to get his instrument and come back and play for them, making her yawn at the quieter music, she rubbed her eyes being emotionally and physically tired from the day.
Gus heard her question and stopped playing for a moment. "You should try some," he said, offering her the rest of the can and a spoon. "Beans ain't as sweet as chocolate, but they're way better for ya."
she stared at the can for a little bit before going and grabbing the can and the spoon and staring at the insides for a little longer, before eventually taking a bite and tasting it for a bit swallowing it, before eating another spoonful and thinking.
"My ma says you can't tell if y' like a food until you've had twenty bites," Gus said helpfully. "One o' these days I'll get the chance to make a cookin' fire, and then I'll show you what a real bean and corn supper tastes like. For now this'll have to do."
"its cold.." she mutters, thought she keeps eating it a bit longer before setting it down.
"Up t'you." Gus wished he could start a fire there on the roof, but he had to accept that it was too risky. Screamers seemed to be attracted to fire, and they didn't know what other unfriendly humans might be in the area, hunting for someone to loot.
"You tired?" he asked Jasper kindly. "Go ahead and get some rest if y'want, I'll keep watch while I finish eatin'."
(Good lol)
Jezariah let out a sigh of relief when he saw Elodie, though confused as she called out the name "Jess" what he would sometimes go by.
"get this crazy chick off me!" He exclaims, his legs shaking as he backed against the wall.
Jesse ignored the fact that Elodie called her Jess as the moment, instead pressing the gun closer to his chest.
"Vhat're you doing here?" She growls to Jez, her voice low and her accent thick.
June shrugged, “what is north?” She was honestly wondering if that was just a direction they picked or if they had come from the south. “And when is Jez coming back anyhow, he has been gone for a bit” she asked more so to herself than anything. She reached over and brushed Darius hair out of his face with a soft smile.
(Lol June is the one that fell asleep, but I’ll just pretend that it was the other way around to fit with you lol)
(Shoot I'm dumb lol, thanks for going with it xD)
Gus heard her remark and glanced around at the still streets, then shrugged. "Jez seems purty capable to me, and careful. He won't go too far or get hisself into trouble without us. As fer goin' north, that was Jez's idea. He wanted t' scout out some place up there." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I dunno if he'd want me givin' you the details without his say-so though. You can ask 'im when he gets back."
She nodded, “I sure hope it’s not something personal, not to be rude but from my experience personal is more often than not a bad ending” she shrugged, “then again the rare chance it ends up good, well sometimes is a risk worth taking” she smiled watching Darius sleep. “Thanks for wanting to help with Dare, I do need the help, and teaching him to fight is smart…I just wish I had been able to when Dev was still around” she mumbled the last part.
Elodie moved in front of Jesse, pushing the gun out of the way, and slipping in between Jezariah and Jesse.
"Dont Jesse, we can't just kill whoever we see!" she half shouted, her face turning pink.
She exhaled slowly and closed her eyes, she thought for a moment then opened them again.
"Look, we need people to be alive— I— need people to stay alive." She said quietly and turned to Jezariah, her hand extended in a motion used for handshakes then said "Hi" with a smile
"Im Elodie, nice to meet you." She said with a smile.
"It's no trouble," Gus promised. "I'm glad t' help with Darius, he seems like he deserves a pal or two." He sighed. "I ain't too sure whether Jez's reasons are personal or not. He never told me. But I'm hopin' he's at least not th' kind of guy to drag his friends down a bad path with him, y'know? We'll have t' talk to 'im and find out more details either way."
She nodded, “knowing all you can is often better than going in blindly, some people don’t understand that.” She sighed, “is there anyone you miss?….Im sorry I it’s to personal, but Darius has taken away every way to remember anyone he was close to that are no longer here…and sometimes I just want to…” she paused wiping a tear from her cheek, “I didn’t have many people, but the ones I did meant the world to me ya know?”
Jesse glares down at Elodie with wide eyes as she steps aside, "you think I vould kill him? Tch. You know nothzing" she growls. Still absolutely pissed out of her mind that Elodie had the nerve to do that after Jesse had gone out of her way to protect her. She had far too many bad experiences with humans. Even more so than the reapers.
To her, Elodie knew nothing of the real world and was shoving herself all over the place where she'd get killed.
Plus it had taken a lot out of Jesse to care enough to put Elodie's life before her own. For her to put herself in between her gun and the threat…well to Jesse, it was absolutely ridiculous.
She points the gun to Elodie "get out of the way. Ve don't know him and you don't know vhat you're doing" she threatens, the gun still cocked and her face stone serious. She kept her distance just in case Elodie or this man tried to take it.
(Sorry Jesse's so mad now)
Jezariahs eyes widen even more. He wanted to greet the nice girl. But that german freak was terrifying to him. Especially since she held a gun.
Was this poor, sweet girl being held captive? Is she this thing's slave?
Thinking about it too much gave him a headache.
(Dw Jesse won't kill anyone. But that's the line.)
( Poor June ;-;)
Gus nodded, listening carefully. "I understand. Friends and family ain't easy to lose." He spoke quietly, his face lacking its usual easygoing expression. Instead his features were mostly blank. "I've been lucky for th' most part….but there's still folks I miss a lot. An' I dunno if they're okay, or if I'll ever see 'em again." He smiled bitterly. "I guess we all prob'ly have that problem nowadays, don't we? So much happened, it's hard t' keep track of everybody who's important to you."
June nodded, “yeah…the one that hurt the most was my brother, I mean he was my only family to begin with, and now that he is dead…well all I got is my friends..” she sighed.
Darius rolled over hitting his head on something which caused him to wake up. “Ow”
Gus glanced at Darius and let out a breath, shaking off his gloom. For better or worse, Darius was able to live a mostly worry-free life, and Gus didn't want to spoil that.
"I'm sorry," he said softly to June, alluding to the loss of her brother. "I don't know if I'd be much help, but if you ever need a fella t' talk to, jus' come find me. It ain't healthy to keep that stuff all locked up in your head, I don't think."
“It’s not, it can cause mental problems such as- well that’s not important, but thank you for being a friend.” She smiled
Darius blinked “I think I hit my head”
(Darius = human Patrick Star)
(lollll pretty much xD)
Gus nodded at June, then grinned down at Darius. "Looks like you did, pal. Y'have a good nap there? Didn't look too comfy, but I've slept in worse places so I guess I can't judge."
Darius shrugged, “I didn’t mean to fall asleep”
June rolled her eyes and ruffled Darius’ hair before standing up, “Well I think I am going to take a nap now that you are awake and I don’t have to worry about you rolling off the roof.” She laughed slightly.
