Set in modern day America. Slavery is still legal in most states, but a rebellion is rising. Kind of a dystopia, I guess?? Idk the idea seemed better in my head… Please join!

Okay here is more information/template finally!

Basically, your characters can be either a slave (realistically, for that they must be at least partially Black), a slave owner (which could be a villain if you want), or not a slave or slave owner (either against slavery or for it, whichever.) We'll start in the southern states, but as the rebellion progresses, we could move locations. Rules: No powers, everyone's human, swearing is okay but censor really bad ones, do NOT use racial slurs (I know it'd be realistic but nahhh), no godmodding, no sexual stuff (romance is okay), have fun!

@JustAPandaWithALife

Name: Dira Revere
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Race/Ethnicity: African American
Appearance: She has long black hair that reaches her waist, so she always puts it in two braids. Her eyes are a dark brown, verging on black, and they are big. Her skin is a chocolate brown. Height is 5' 7". She is very thin, and not that strong, physically wise.
Personality: She is obedient, and doesn't try to disobey her master. However, behind the curtain, she despises being a slave. She can read (not too much, but just the basics), and that is how she heard of a beginning of a revolution. She is kind of a leader, but most of the time she likes to follow someone else's lead, because that's what she's used to. When she is just with the other slaves, Dira is compassionate and caring. She tries to be a model for the young children. Sometimes, her temper can boil over, and she just has to be alone. Dira is very logical at times, but she is still a dreamer.
Background: Slave. Her best friend's sister (along with the sister's husband), however, escaped to the North. They have no idea if they made it.
Other: She was born a slave. Her great-great-great-great-great (and so on) grandparents were both taken from Africa and made slaves, and both of her parents were born into slavery as well. She was the only child in her family, but (like most slaves from one master do) she has an extended family of those she isn't even related to. Her father was sold to another slave master, so he isn't around anymore.

(So anyone not white would fall under that then? Does sexism still exist in extreme amounts?)

(Probably the racism but I feel like sexism wouldn't be that much worse than it is now)
