Jake grabbed a cold coffee from his backpack and drinks some of it.

Cora backed into the lunchroom, tugging at the pink sleeve of her twin, Karma. While she was ready and raring to go, the other was not.
He looked like he hadn't slept in years, and his eyes were slightly bloodshot, but he was at least making an effort to move his feet. His eyes darted around the room until falling upon a small congregation of people at one of the tables. He was in no way inclined to go and talk to them.
Cora sighed a very heavy sigh, finally letting go of her brother's sleeve. The chain on her skirt's belt jingled when she moved, giving one the feeling that a fairy might have been in the room. She looked across at him, her eyes sparkling sadly, but she didn't say a word as she grabbed a cup of black coffee and left Karma's side to find a seat.
She didn't recognise anyone there, so she was half in mind to sit by herself somewhere, but chattering that drifted over from one of the tables seemed oddly inviting…

Ramona hummed softly again, scribbling in a notebook, chewing her lip. Rhyming was hard. But songs were fun to write, at least.

Harper stood up, walking over to Cora. She seemed kind of lonely, with her big sigh. "Hey, you new here?" she asked casually, brushing her feathery brunette hair back behind her shoulder.

"I uhm…" Cora jumped a little when the girl had spoken to her. "Yes.. It's nice to meet you." her beautiful smile began growing, the purple of her lipstick making her teeth look even more white than they were. "My name is Cora."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Did I scare you? I'm awfully sorry if I did, I just… Sorry, I better stop now, or I'll keep talking forever," Harper started ramble. "But, it's nice to meet you as well, Cora. I'm Harper," she introduced herself, cracking a small, but shy smile.

Jake looked up and his heart started to do jumping jacks. "H-hi my names Jake, but you can call me whatever you want babes." He winked at her in the most flirtatious way ever.

A bright flush rose to Cora's cheeks when Jake winked at her, and she averted her long lashed eyes. "Nice to meet you, Harper." her voice was gentle, almost shy, as she looked back at Jake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Cora."

Karma was observing Cora's interactions with the other people, and as soon as that Jake person decided to call her 'babes', he went into defensive brother mode. Though it wasn't a fight he wanted to trouble himself with, not when there was a bunch of people around. For now he would keep quiet and observe some more.

Jake then made a spot for her next to him, " m'lady always deserves the best seats in the lunchroom." he bowed at her and kissed her hand.

Everly hummed a vocal warmup as she scribbled notes in her journal. She liked to draw inspiration for characters from the people around her, and the lunchroom was the perfect place for that. Normally, she would have been chattering away, but she was feeling unusually focused.

"Thanks…" Harper replied, glancing at Jake. What were his intentions? Was he… flirting with Cora? Trying to break the awkwardness that had developed during those whole, what, ten seconds(?), she cleared her throat quietly. "So, uh, Cora, what school did you come from?"

Cora delicately lowered herself into the seat beside Jake, smiling gratefully to him before turning to Harper. “Oh uhm…It’s not a local one, you wouldn’t have heard of it.” She glanced over the top of Harper’s head and found her brother staring. Why did he have to look so menacing so early in the morning? Cora shook her head slightly, glancing away from Karma. She stared down at her orange juice and tapped her thumb against the side of her glass. “Am I to assume you guys are from around here?”

Jake made a face, showing he wasn't from here, " i came from Cali. My parents got a divorce and i was left with my dad. who is now head of police. At a mall. " He made a face that seemed wierded out.

Evelyn then slapped Jake's shoulder. "Jake it's the first day of school, and friggin 7:40 in the morning. Give hittin' on girls a break, will ya? Jeeze." Evan was totally not checking out Karma no matter how grumpy he looked he was hot, and adorable simultaneously. It caught his interest for sure. But with him being so feminine he decided to not engage in conversation. Not many people accepted him. Besides, he looked like he was going to stab anyone who even looked his way. So Evan just darted his head away and pulled out a notebook, and began to write a bit.

Jake rubbed his shoulder. " That hurt! "

"Good! It was supposed to!" She sassed back. "You fuck. Quit it. She may be a lesbian for all you know! Be nice to peeps!"

Ramona looked up, looking around at the crowd at the table. She shrugged, deciding she had no clue how to socialize and going back to writing, singing softly to herself. "Sheena is, a punk rocker, Sheena is, a punk rocker…"

Cora suddenly felt rather awkward, and she could feel the tears starting to prick the corners of her eyes. “I’m straight…why does it matter though?” Her voice was growing softer and softer by the second, and she refused to look at anyone.

She looked at Cora. "O-oh sorry. It's just that Jake has a…history. I want to make sure he's not making you feel bad or anything. Don't worry we've been friends forEVER this is pretty normal between us. I'm…sorry if I made you feel bad."

Jake whines from the pain in his shoulder.

Evelyn sighed and just patted Jake. "Quit being such a fuss bucket, we've hit eachother far worse then that."
