Bane huffed at the fact the goblin hissed at him, turning back to the elf and grooming to be nice and neat. In turn, Arcturus' hair was now matted with hellhound slobber and sticking up. The elf was not going to like this. Bane also licked Arcturus' face, getting slobber everywhere. Taking a paw-step back to look at his bathing job, he touched his cold nose to Arcturus cheek. Bane's personal sign to 'I trust you and welcome to the pack'. But that was just Bane. Other hellhounds welcomed others with scars and bite marks. And then he looked over that Leila with a look that only read: 'You're next'.
Arcturus looked thoroughly annoyed. He flicked his ears and returned to his former neat and put together appearance.
Although he did appreciate that Bane seemed to have moved on from being angry at him.
They jerked a little when Emerse moved her arms away, closing their mouth and watching with curiosity as she rummaged through her bag. When they realized what she was giving them, they snatched the metal fingers away, quick as a snake.
Nix inspected them, noting any small scratches or dents in the metal, admiring the craftsmanship of the small parts. Then, turning to the girl, their pupils dilated so that their eyes looked completely dark, so much was their gratitude. Who knew humans could be so nice and generous? Nix’s ears twitched rapidly with thanks.
Leila looks amused by this whole situation. But when Bane turned his attention to her, she looks startled.
"Uh, Bane-"
Bane let out a delighted chirp. The girl was going to get the same treatment as the elf. And she witnessed how that went. The big wolf pounced on Leila, laying down with the girl underneath his big paws. Like how a mama dog would bathe her child. Bane started to bathe his second person of trust, making her hair stick up in weird places. He pushed his nose in her face, gathering the notes of her scent before licking her face. The Hellhound was acting upon instincts. Instincts that told him his packmates needed a good grooming. After her decided she was sufficiently clean, he pressed his cold nose to her cheek. A mark and symbol of friendship, lifting a paw to let her go.
Arcturus chuckled to himself as he watched it all go down.
But he also knew Leila had more important things on her mind. More important things to tell them to show them, and he was willing to wait for her to feel comfortable enough with the group to share exactly why they were all there.
Sutechi chuckled when he saw bane licking the two of them, he rubbed his eyes but mostly just had a tired smirk on his face.
"Well I would definitely say you did a good job cleaning them Bane." He spoke with a bit of amusement in his voice as he spoke.
He was just sitting down against a wall.
Em just moved to headpat Nix on the head, shaking her head with a soft smile.
She didn't really figure she would get much attached to this group, but Nix had grown a little on her.
The rest had a little bit longer to go, though maybe bane had a better chance then some of the others did. For reasons you'll just have to figure out on your own.
Leila yelps as she's knocked down, quickly covering her mouth and eyes with a magic barrier.
"Okay, okay!" she laughs as Bane finishes "cleaning" her. "I love you too, bud!"
She magically fixes her hair and clothes, a bright smile on her face.
Bane barked happily, prancing around like the silly wolf he was. He figured everyone like him in this form, free from the ties of humankind. When would he return to his humanoid form? The pups wasn't sure himself. Maybe when he fell asleep next. But for now, his tail wagged a million miles per minute, joyous that someone enjoyed his company enough to tell him they loved him in friend standards. Usually, no one liked him, not even as a friend. Trilling, he trotted over to Em, brushing his side against the girl. He was trying to make friends at his cuddliest, trying to make amends. He was panting heavily from all the energy he was using, subconsciously wearing himself out. And once he turns back, he won't remember much.
Arcturus watched Leila playing with Bane. Some part of her was very much a little girl.
And some part was much, much older.
Leila turns to Arcturus, still smiling.
"Bane seems to be settling in quite nicely. Speaking of, how are you feeling about all this?"
He looked up. "I'm not sure yet. There's something we're supposed to be doing, but I'm not sure what." He leaned forward intently. "I have a feeling you know."
Leia's smile fades as she becomes that stone wall again.
"I will tell you when everybody is paying attention."
(Dang it’ll be centuries before that happens)
(Well. . . a good old Wrath of God detonated in an indestructable glass orb the size of your palm should be enough to catch even Nix's attention.)
( Ummmm, that'll do it…..)
(Bane just needs a dog whistle..)
Bane barked happily, prancing around like the silly wolf he was. He figured everyone like him in this form, free from the ties of humankind. When would he return to his humanoid form? She looked down at bane, noticing how he was brushing up against her side. She chucked a good bit, moving to give him pets and some scratches behind the ear as she looked down at him.
"Yer' a good boy, ain't ya?" She spoke to him as she continued to scratch behind the ear.
"Everyone, please listen!" Leila calls out, trying to get everyone's attention.
Arcturus closed his eyes, pushing calm through the room, trying to make sure everyone was ready to listen.
When Bane approached the girl, Nix scurried away again, still wary of the hellhound. However, it didn’t take much effort to immediately turn their attention to Leila. They stuffed the metal fingers into their pockets, and locked their wide blue eyes on the small girl. Arcturus didn’t even need to use his abilities on them, so great was their respect for Leila.
Bane pressed his cold nose against Em’s hand, wagging his fluffy tail back and forth. He was loving the attention and especially the pets. Bane barked in agreement to Em’s statement. Yes, he was good. He then turned his attention to Leila, whom had yapped a call for them to listen. Sitting down next to Em, he perked his ears, listening for any news to be told.
