She shrugged, “If you’re not doing anything, that’d be nice, but if you’re busy I’ll just call a cab.” Having him drive her back to her house just for him to come back here would be mean, but if he was done, she wouldn’t mind hitching a ride back.

"Eh, I can take an off day." He rolled his shoulders and sighed. "Just give me, like, 10 minutes to close up shop."
They made it to the truck in precisely 9 minutes and 47 seconds. His truck was an old, beat up Ford Ranger that was covered in dents and dirt.
"Glorious, ain't it?" he asked sarcastically, unlocking the door by sticking the key into the keyhole and twisting it.

@gracehustle

“Actually, it is kinda nice, a change from the fancy cars all around,” She studied his truck with a nod, leaning against the passengers side door, “Kinda reminds me of my grandpa’s old truck.”

He tossed the keys over the roof over to her. "Both doors need the key to unlock. I haven't fixed that."
Lee opened the door and slipped into the driver seat.

@gracehustle

Catching them, she opened her door as well and slid into the car before tossing the keys back to him. She closed the door and looked around the inside on the truck, deciding it was nicer than some of the fanciest cars she’d been in, in its own way.

He slipped the key into the ignition and twisted it. The car struggled to turn on, but after about a second it rumbled to life like a grumpy old man.
"Buckle up," he advised, clicking the belt into the latch by his hip.

@gracehustle

Vanessa nodded, doing as he said and buckling up, “Alright captain, I’m buckled up and ready to go.” She looked out the window at the gym and went silent as she thought.

"Annnnnnd here we go."
He pushed the parking brake down to the D slot and pulled out of the back of gym.
"Address?" he asked, glancing over to Vanessa.

@gracehustle

(XDXD that’s trueeeee, my dog look so betrayed when I come home after petting a different dog)
“1717 Sunfield road,” She said, glancing at him as they started out, “It’s not really hard to find, a small tan house, fence around it, I’ll point it out.”

"'Bout an hour away," he said after typing it into his Waze app. "Might wanna get comfortable."
Lee's driving was conservative, even if someone cut him off or did something stupid. Never once did it seem that he was upset in any sense of the word.

@gracehustle

Nodding, she did as he said, though she didn’t turn on the radio like she normally would have. While Lee didn’t seem to be bothered by the cars, Vanessa seemed to completely ignore them as she sank into the seat and just listened to the cars.

(My bad, forgot about this ;-;)

"We still have a bit of time," Lee said, glancing over at the radio. 7:13. "And I know a place where no one could find us. Wanna get some dinner?"
Don't ask if it's a date, don't ask if it's a date, he mentally willed her after asking the question.

@gracehustle

(It’s Oke :) )
“Sure, dinner sounds good,” She replied, looking over at him and nodding, “I might have to be a little more careful with my disguise though, don’t really want any rumors spreading if I can help it.”

"I can give you a beanie to hide your hair," he said, changing lanes without a blinker. "Probably a bigger hoodie, too."

@gracehustle

Vanessa nodded again and cracked a smile, “I have a trick up my sleeve as well, so the hoodie might not be needed, but the beanie could help.” It was weird having to not look like herself for two meals in a row, but she didn’t mind, she was used to it and knew how to not draw attention to herself.

"We'll just need to stop by my apartment," he said, glancing over at her. "I should probably change, too."

@gracehustle

“Sounds good, Mr. Driver,” She replied, looking over to him before watching the cars back out the window, “I just need to find a sink and a mirror.”

Deleted user

"I have both of those." It took them about 15 minutes to get to his apartment. Eventually, they pulled into a decrepit-looking complex and Lee turned the car off.
"You ready?" he asked, unbuckling.

@gracehustle

Unbuckling as well, she nodded and opened her door, “I’m ready whenever you are.” She closed it behind her and looked up at the building, surprised and curious as to why he lived somewhere so old.

"Watch out for the broken glass," he said, gesturing at the sidewalk. "It's almost everywhere."

@gracehustle

Vanessa didn’t ask or comment, just nodded and looked down to make sure she didn’t step on any broken glass. “Which place is yours?” Was her only question as she looked around at the complex.

He pointed up to the apartment just above the main entrance.
"Couldn't afford the penthouse," he said dryly.

@gracehustle

She didn’t make any jokes, just glanced up where he pointed before motioning for him to lead the way. As far as she remembered, she had never been around this area, so just looking around while she waited for him to lead the way kept her busy.

The elevator was as shitty as she could've imagines, smelling of body odor and piss. He didn't seem to mind as he pressed the 2 button that had a crack down the middle.
