"Go help the others hoist the sails," she said, gesturing at the other crew members. "Or get the spirits to. I don't really care."
(I love the feline grace thing)
Bahari looked over. What do you need of me? Was just the thing she needed. She walked over.
"You help me with navigation? My grandma taught me ways of sea, and you are ways of stars. We can work together." She suggested.
(we'd actually be putting the sails up.)
(we'd actually be putting the sails up.)
(I changed it to "hoist")
(How about positioning the sails to go in the direction they want to go)
William tugged at a rope, and by chance a lucky gust blew the sail open and did all the work for him. He grinned at the others, “The spirits’s chosen, like I said. The stars tell me we need to head east first, but we’ll turn course north after that.”
"Why east? Maldives is northwest." Bahari looked confused. "Something we need? I have all things, I think."
“East is the land of sacred spirits to give us strength. If you wish to pass it, it will be at your own risk,” William replied looking east as if their was something there.
Simone walks away from Lucas when she sees the others hoisting the sails. She climbs up a few of the ropes because she can't reach them and starts pulling the other ropes.
Bahari narrowed her eyes. "Come, William. I have to show you a box of things." She turned on her heel to the lower cabin.
“Ooo, a box of things, how exciting,” William pranced behind her to the lower deck. It gave off a strange feeling, and William immediately became serious.
Bahari was sitting cross-legged on the floor, a box that resembled an 1800's camera in front of her. "Sit down," She told William. "This is important. It is from my grandma."
William sat, but closed his eyes. It felt like the air was humming around them, “Open the box,” William said without opening his eyes.
Bahari raised her eyebrows but did so. Out from the box came tumbling eight hibiscus - colored crystals with a gold chain - necklaces.
"You know they are not normal necklaces?" Bahari asked William, who looked deep in thought.
When the box opened, it felt like clearing a channel. Like when the last tarrot card was put down. He sucked in a deep breath through his nose, “These are very special,” They felt like good voodoo. The electric feeling of magic zapped through him when he touched one of the objects. It felt like a necklace. He slowly opened his eyes and he picked it up, “She wanted us to wear these when we go into battle.”
"Yes! They are from cave far below the island, soaked for years in kept hibiscus tea. They will make us safe from - most - things." Bahari explained.
“I know they will keep us safe,” William replied, closing his eyes. He put the necklace on without permission. It felt like all his pores were cleaned out, but spiritually. It was like he could see wavelengths of magic flying through the air. Since William was already connected with the spirits, the necklace felt like an enhancer, “I am not taking this off,” He announced then stood, and started walking out of the cabin.
Simone jumped down from the ropes and ran to her backpack. How could she forget one very important thing. Her little puppy Cocco had been in the bag the whole time, she unzipped it a bit so he could breathe but now he could have been suffocating. When she fully unzipped the bag, he jumped out at her and tackled her to the ground. She started laughing when he jumped over her multiple times before catching him and putting him in his arms. She lowered him and let him run around. It was the first time he had seen the ocean. He leaned over the edge of the boat and barked excitedly. She let him loose for a few moments before bringing him back on deck. "滞在(Stay)" She said before getting the rest of his stuff out the bag.
Bahari watched him leave. This William was smart. They should all keep them on. She put one on herself and carefully tucked the rest into the box, taking it carefully in her hands out to the deck for the rest of the crew.
William looked on, horrified, at the new creature on the boat, “What is that beastly thing doing on here?” Out of all the animals there were, William never liked dogs too much, always slobbering around everywhere.
Bahari came up after him and laughed. "It is a small dog. It is nice." She went over to its owner, Simone.
"It's not beastly" Simone defended. "He's just a little puppy that needs love. He's not even a handful. 右のコッコ?(right cocco)"
True, the creature seemed to give off a good aura, but William didn’t want that thing ruining his zen, “When did it get on? Maybe it could swim back to shore…” William trailed off, looking at the distance they made already.
Cocco ran up from his spot and leaped into Simone's arms and barked at William. He then leaped down and started going in-between Simone's legs.
(use the worded translation)
"It is fine. Kokka, yoi koinu!" Bahari smiled, petting the small puppy.
"We're not throwing a puppy off a boat." Ailith said, giving William a look.
