Keigo smiled weakly. He held his hand out towards her “ you'll hurt yourself.. Doing that..” he said through strained breaths

“Doing what, love?”Amelia asked with a chuckle.

Boris looked up.

“Emma, I’d start wrapping up this conversation, so Bird-Man can get some rest,”he mentioned.

Amelia nodded in acknowledgement, then turned back to Keigo.

“ rubbing your knuckles. “ he said and let go of her hand. He put it back down at his side and waited for them to leave.

Amelia chuckled, then hesitated to move. Boris tapped her shoulder.

“Go check on Beta-Man for me. I’ll linger a bit, then probably snoop around,”Boris said, chuckling at the last part.

Amelia snickered, then nodded. She still hesitated, but finally got up. She encouraged Bull to come with her and they suited up, heading back to Keigo’s ship. Then Amelia went to visit Jonathan.

He had dismissed the holograms of his computers, but otherwise hadn’t moved. He turned when Amelia came in.

“Max is really dead, isn’t he?”

Amelia grimaced and nodded. Jonathan sighed shakily.

“I’m going to need a minute,”he said.

Jonathan then stood up and disappeared into his room. Amelia watched him and sighed.

Keigo sighed. He was alone again. He could feel his thoughts run wild, every word maxim had said flooded his head. Keigos fears, insecurities, and doubts seemed to his tenfold at this point.

Amelia went to Keigo’s room, checking on Toaci. She then sat down on the bed, her mind replaying what had just happened. She burst into tears, suddenly overwhelmed by all of it.

Maxim was dead, something she had once hoped for but had never thought would happen. And Keigo was hurt, and seemed so far away now despite being only a spacewalk away.

Amelia curled up on the bed as she cried, feeling so lost and helpless in that moment.

Toaci heard her cry, flying from his perch and trying to get in her arms “ be okay. Be okay. Kego come, kego come. “ he clicked his beak “ Amelia pretty? “ he said in was seemed like a questioning tone.

Amelia spread her arms a bit, letting Toaci get close. She giggled a bit at Toaci’s question.

“Keigo’s hurt. He’ll heal, but he’s hurt. And I don’t know what to do,”she said, continuing to cry.

“ stay stong.” toaci chirped and curled up to Amelia's chest he nipped at her shirt a bit. “ big care, big care.”

Amelia curled her arms so that Toaci was in a nest of sorts, needing the physical contact.

“How do I stay strong?”she whimpered.

“ no know. “ he said and rested his head on Amelia. He seemed just as upset as she was.

Amelia stifled a whimper at Toaci’s answer. She then noticed how upset he was and started to gently pet him. After a few moments, she started to whisper ‘It’ll be okay’, saying it for both their sakes. It quickly became a mantra of sorts for her.

“ go visit kego, “ toaci said happily. He got up and ran to ameias space suit and sat in the helmet “ melia fell better. See kego.”

Amelia giggled.

“Well, my emotions are begging for it, and now you’re saying it. If that’s not encouragement enough, I don’t know what is,”she said.

She sat up, composing herself a bit, then started putting the suit back on. She then stared at Toaci, amused by how perfect Toaci fit in the helmet.

“You are definitely a pretty bird. Thank you, Toaci,”she said.

“ pretty woman, pretty woman” toaci called and chirped happily “ onwards!” he said quite softly for being right next to Amelia

Amelia laughed.

“I’ll be back. If you would, could you visit Jonathan for me? I’m sure he could use some cheering up,”Amelia said, smiling at Toaci.

She then put her helmet on and headed out. When she got back in her ship and got out of the suit, Boris was waiting with a confused look.

“Beta-Man is a bit upset, as expected. And, don’t ask,”Amelia told him.

Boris sighed, saddened that Jonathan was upset, and even more confused by her last words.

Amelia ignored his look and went into her room, sitting down in the chair she had been in previously. She almost immediately burst into tears.

“Fuck, I was hoping I was done crying. I never thought that… however long I’d been away, would be so much damn torture. And I love Toaci even more now than I already did,”she said, giggling a bit despite her tears.

Keigo laughed weakly “ lemme guess. Let's go see kego. “ he said softly and looked to Amelia “ can't sleep, I got so damn used to sleeping next to you a literally can't sleep. “

Toaci took Amelia's words to heart, he went to go look for Johnathan “ beta, beta!” he called and looked around the ship. He eventually found him in his room. Perching on Johnathan's shoulder. The birdy nuzzled Johnathan, rubbing his head on his cheek “ beta !” he chipped sweatly

Amelia chuckled,”Exactly that.”

Amelia then gently grabbed his hand, holding and caressing it with both hands.

“I think I spoiled you as much as you spoiled me,”she joked.

Jonathan didn’t realize Toaci was looking for him until the bird suddenly landed on his shoulder. He jumped a bit, startled, then snickered and glanced at Toaci with tear-streaked eyes.

“Hey there, Toaci. I wasn’t expecting a visit from ya,”Jonathan said.

“ beta, okay?” He spoke softly. The bird tilted his head in question.

“I don’t know, probably not. I just lost my brother. Sure, he was a fucking useless asshole sometimes, but he was still my brother,”Jonathan said quietly.

Toaci rubbed his head against his cheek. “ pretty bird here. “ he chipped and yawned slightly. “ look at big bitches. Happy beta”

Keigo sighed softly and wrapped his fingers in Amelia's “ yeah I think so, “

Jonathan chuckled, reaching up to pet Toaci a bit.

“Ya went from pecking me in the ear to comforting me. You’re a unique bird, Toaci, and ya really are pretty.”

Amelia chuckled, slowly calming down.

“thank you. “ he thrilled. Toaci made himself comfortable in the shirt pocket. ( idk if he has one but it's cute story) he clicked his beak and watched Johnathan screens “ watcha doing?”

“You’re welcome. And nothing much right now, but I keep the screens on, in case they inspire me,”Jonathan replied.
