Ava froze. "I-I'll e-e-explain th-that l-l-l-later." Ava said as she turned back to Kasia.
Ava froze. "I-I'll e-e-explain th-that l-l-l-later." Ava said as she turned back to Kasia.
Kaisa nodded. She understood why Tenley had been suspicious. It really didn't help their case though when Ava took a tracker off of her jacket. "So," she said, wincing. "Can you check the cupboards for thyme? And maybe some poppy? I should be on my feet in a few hours if I can get some into my system." She lay back.
Harvey quietly watched the exchange. "So….. We're the bad guys?" he asked, confused.
Ava winced. "H-Have you e-e-ever b-been outside of V-Valencia?" She asked Kasia and Harvey as she search the cupboards. She found thyme and poppy easily. "H-Have you, Yuki?" Asking him as well. She wanted to know what it was like in here as citizens. They obviously weren't like anyone who came out of Valencia or her sister.
Kaisa nodded. "I grew up in ScarLis. I came here just over a year ago. Harvey was born here though."
Ava looked at Harvey. "Ha-Have you ever b-b-been outs-side Valencia b-before?" She asked him.
Harvey shook his head. "No, I haven't. I grew up in the capital, and I went straight into the academy."
Ava sighed. "D-Do yoou know a-a-anything about p-places outside of V-V-Valencia?" She asked as she took the little robot that she created and set it on the desk. It began to wander around, looking at things and people.
Yuki inserted himself into the conversation disregarding any standerds he last stated. “Did someone say Valencia?”
Harvey shook his head again. "I've never had a desire to learn. We're all taught that Valencia is superior, and that sometimes we accept people into our community who should've been in Valencia to start with, and that's why everyone is so nice to Outsiders because we've been taught that they are one of us." He plopped down heavily into a chair. "what is it like out there?"
Ava wrung her hands. "O-Outside of Valencia, V-Valencia known a-a-as the c-country that h-has it a-all. All th-the newest t-t-tech c-comes from h-here, jobs h-here are the highest p-p-paying, and the s-schools have the b-best re-reputations. B-But people who h-have been V-Valencia h-haven't b-been the same." Ava explained.
(Sorry guys! Stuff got really busy!!!!)
Harvey frowned. "What do you mean, 'not the same?'" he cracked his knuckles. "Is this about the missing Outsiders?"
Ava jumped as Harvey cracked his knuckles. She started to back up slightly. "T-They c-c-come b-back d-d-different. Th-They d-d-don't a-act them-themselves, and th-they w-won't talk a-about what h-h-happened in V-Valencia." She said, barely able to get certain words out.
Harvey noticed her reaction. "Oh, hey, sorry. It's just a nervous habit." He shook his head. "Then it is something to do with them. Gosh, I'm such an idiot, to be working for them."
She calmed down after he assured her about him not threatening her. "I-It's fine. Y-You didn't kn-know." She assured him. "W-We h-have been sent b-by s-someone to f-find out why." Ava explained
"By who?" Kaisa tried to prop herself up in her elbows but slumped back down after a second. "Tenley wouldn't tell me, but I think almost being crossed off by my superiors says something about my loyalty."
Ava looked around the room. "I-I'm not s-sure if I-I can t-tell you." She said nervously. She seemed to think about it for a second.
Kaisa sighed. "Right, because I'm totally in a position to tell people. Especially now that I'm a target for murder."
Ava looked at Kasia. "W-Well…I-I…I c-could…should I?" She started to asked herself. "I-I should…b-but I-I can't? I-I should!"
Kaisa gave her a strained look. "Seriously Ava, I get it. No big deal. Don't fight yourself."
Ava ignored Kasia. She was mumbling things to herself. Ava can be very loyal to people and groups. And this moment was making her choose. Kaisa, who is on there side in this fight who wants answers or StarTechs, who was her employer and was going to help her sister. "I-I w-work f-for S-s-s-s" Ava sputtered, not being able to get the word.out. "S-s-s-s-s-STARTECH!!" She yelled.
Kaisa stared. "That was….. painful to watch. But thank you. I appreciate how hard that must have been." She shook her head. "Startech? really? Gees, the people who come out of here must be worse than I thought." She remembered the fate that was given to traitors, the fate that was promised to her if she was caught. She shuddered. "Then again, it might be better than what they do here…."
Ava looked at Kasia. "W-What do th-they do here?" She asked. She wanted…No…Needed to figure out what her sister went through.
(Lol Sorry about me being dead, I haven’t been myself lately. I’m depressed-more then normal- right now and I’m loosing interest in everything. I’ll try and be on more, but if I can’t im going to quit all my roleplays.)
(Don't worry about it. Take care of yourself! Your needs should come before us!)
Kaisa looked into Ava's eyes. "Terrible things," she said in a hollow voice. "To traitors, they well…they get information. And to the Outsiders….I'm not one hundred percent sure. Nothing as extreme, but there has to be a reason that Wittering tried to kill me after I asked about the Reassignment Institue. That must be where they take the Outsiders."
