(Boiler is in the basement, but that could be the control room?)
Kaisa held her sleeve to her mouth, trying to stop the smoke from getting into her lungs. She coughed violently as the black smoke grew thicker, making it harder and harder to see. I've got to…do something… she thought desperately. Harvey was heading an attempt to bash down the door. The metal door. The reinforced metal door. Gosh, sometimes he was thick, but Kiasa understood his need to do something. She tried to walk over to him but staggered as another wave of heat erupted from the boiler. Daniel cried out, and nearly dropped the piece of piping stuck under the broken valve, the only thing keeping the boiler from blowing. Kaisa could plainly see the blisters and burns forming on his hands. "Daniel!" she shouted through the growing noise from the boiler and the battering ram party. "Let me take over!" "No! It's too hot! My hands were able to be acclimated slowly! If you try, your hands will be scarred and burned so badly you might not be able to hold a fork for weeks!" "And if you drop that pipe, there won't be any more weeks!" She yelled back. Daniel hesitated and then nodded. She kneeled next to him, braced her self, and grabbed the pipe with both hands. She nearly screamed, a=but she didn't want Daniel to see, so she merely bit her cheek as the pain washed over her. The sheer heat was so intensely this close to the boiler that she could smell her hair curling and shriving a bit. Daniel let go and staggered away from the boiler. Kaisa held the pipe fast, but she knew that even if she could hold out indefinitely, the boiler wouldn't. THeir time was almost up.
Yuki shook, he couldn’t believe it. “M-Ms. Kasia?!?! Are you alright!?” He cried out, still suprised that someone was locked inside, he knew that both would be struggling to breathe from the heat inside, he should know, he used to work in the boiler room before he was promoted to guard. He took his hammer of its case, prepared to knock the door down with whatever it takes. Don't worry… I’ll get you out… He began to beat on the door, wanting both of them to back away before he tried breaking down the door. “Don’t worry! I’ll get you both out!” He screamed through.
Harvey yelled over to Kaisa in surprise. "Kaisa! THere's someone outside!" Kaisa barely heard him. Her hands were clenched so tightly now, that you could see white even though the heat turned her hands red. "Havey," she said, panting from the exertion on pulling down on the pipe. "Get… get Tenley if you can… She might be able, to, to help with the boiler… if the door opens…get out, okay?" Harvey knelt beside her, ignoring the heat. "Let me take it, someones trying to get in now," "No, you have to get the others out of the building. Find Tenley if you can, but otherwise, sound the alarm. I'll give you as much time as I can." "But-" "Harvey! We have a dozen agents down here, and another few hundred citizens in the building! You need to get them out. I won't be able to, once I let go, my body will go into shock. They need you." Harvey saw that she wasn't relenting. Witha bitter look on his face, he nodded. another wave of heat cascaded from the boiler. "Go and help whoever is trying to break down the door!" She yelled. Harvey obliged, and with their last bit of strength, all the Agents, aside from Daniel and Kaisa, began beating on the door.
Yuki began to beat the door, slowly denting it. It wasn’t budging much, so he used both hands to pound the door with the hammer with as much force as he could manage. He aimed for the top, but decided to aim lower, so it would open his way instead of the opposite. “Hold on! I’m almost done! I’ll get you out of their!”
Still beating on the door, it started to move outwards, he was close. Using the rest of his energy he finally opened it up, the door detached from the wall, flying at Yuki. Yuki moved out of the way, but the door hit his left arm. “Shit…” he covered his arm, he could tell his arm was hurting a lot. He rushed inside, coughing from the smoke floating above the room like a cloud. “Is everyone alright?”
"Yuki!" Harvey yelled through the smoke. "It's the boiler! Help me get everyone out and sound the alarm!"
Ava heald up a small robot. "T-This could get inside t-the room i-i-if we c-cant." She said showing Tenley. "Th-Though we s-should be able t-to get in." Ava said. "If I-I can get t-to the c-control room m-maybe I can o-open the d-door." She explained.
"Yuki!" Harvey yelled through the smoke. "It's the boiler! Help me get everyone out and sound the alarm!"
Yuki looked over. “Alright, hurry, get yourself out of here, I’ll sound the alarm just get yourself to safety, I’m not going to go out with someone dead.”
Yuki ran off, heading into his office where he had his own alarm. He picked up the phone and called over the intercom. “Attention everyone! We have a situation in the boiler room and it’s dangerous to stay here, everyone exit the building and leave the premises! Make sure you’re far enough that the building isn’t in your vision! Don’t worry about anyone else just get out the building! Save yourself!”
Harvey shouted. "Alright, everyone! Out out out!! Go Go Go! Horace! I need help with Daniel! Get hiim out of here! I'll meet you outside the room." He knelt next to Kaisa again. She barely noticed him, the strain was so great. She pulled with all her might against the pipe. "Kaisa, come on, let me take over." She shook her head. "Get out of here Harvey, I won't be able to make it out anyways, I told you. Everyone is too weak from the smoke and the second I let go my body is going into shock. Just get out of here, and if you can, make sure Tenley and the others are safe." Kaisa looked straight into her friend's eyes. "Harvey…. Thanks for being my friend." He smiled sadly. "Of course, it's been an honor." he got up and raced out of the door to help Horace with Daniel, leaving Kaisa alone in the boiler room.
Yuki made sure that everyone left the faculty safely, after that he made sure to grab all of his belongings, then left himself, running for his life as he made his way through the surrounding grassy fields, looking back to make sure he was far enough. He stopped after he got the faculty out of his view. He put his hands on his knees, kneeling down. He huffed a lot, trying to catch air as sweat dripped off his face. Shit…. I feel like I forgot something… He tried to place his finger on it, he couldn’t think of it even though it was on the tip of his tounge.
Kaisa knelt by the boiler, pulling on the pipe with all of her might. She would at least make sure that everyone made it out safely. With any luck, the rig Daniel had made would last at least twenty more minutes, if she could last that long. The boiler sent off another wave of heat, and she cringed, her hands feeling as though they were on fire. just a little longer…
Harvey helped lay Daniel on a stretcher. He spotted Yuki a little ways away. He walked over. "Hey man, thanks for getting that door open, I thought all of us were going to blow up when that boiler did. Thank goodness Daniel was able to rig up a temporary lever for the boiler. So thanks. If it weren't for you, we'd all be going up in flames."
Ava watched as people ran out of the building. She ran up to some people (Yuki and Daniel). "I-I need t-to get i-into th-th-that building." She said pointing at the building.
(Yuki and Harvey lol)
Harvey looked at her. "Hey, you were one of Kaisa's recruits, huh?"
(Frick! I just can't do names. Ugg!)
Ava looked off to the side for the question. "Th-That doesn't m-matter. I-Is she s-still in there?" She asked towards the building.
Harvey looked down. "Yeah, she is. She wouldn't leave. She's the only reason the building hasn't blown up yet. I tried to take her place, but she wouldn't let me. She made me promise to get the other Agents to safety." He looked back at the building. I guess, she's still keeping it together, but the rig will only last a while longer. Gosh, I wish I could be as strong as her. I would go back but.." he swallowed hard and wiped his eyes. "I said I would protect everyone, and she would kill me if I broke that promise. And I can't protect my team if I'm dead. She made me promise.I-I can't go back on the last thing she said to me…"
(Uh, not to be rude, but Yuki is out where you can’t see the building anymore…)
Yuki patted Harvey’s shoulder, trying to comfort him as best as he could manage. “Don’t you worry, Kasia is only doing what’s right, she wants everyone to be safe, and you know you can’t convince her to go back on her word, or put herself first.” Yuki even had trouble saying that without breaking into tears, he was so close to Kasia, one of her body guards. Yuki was there, but he was to oblivious to notice her… he felt like he could have actually done something to help, maybe saved everyone, but he couldn’t go back now, he would end up killing himself, or worse, have others follow him, killing them as well.
(oops! My bad. He looked that way then.)
(It’s alright.)
Ava grabbed her hair. "O-Oh no! N-No. Nononononononono." Ava said pulling her hair. "W-We h-have to g-get her out of th-there." Ava said in a panicked tone. "W-why was th-the f-facility going to e-e-e-e-" She gave up trying to say the word. "B-Blow up." She asked.
Harvey frowned. "It was the boiler, someone tampered with it and shut all of us in. Kaisa is releasing some pressure, but it won't last forever."
Ava sat there and thought. No! She couldn't sit there and think. Kaisa was in danger. "C-Could y-you take m-me to the b-building?" She asked. "W-We n-n-need to h-help her."
Harvey looked hesitant, as though he didn't want to be hopeful. "You can save her?"
Yuki shrugged. “Kasia is pretty stubborn, she won’t leave that building, you don’t want her to be pissed when she sees someone come back for her after she told us to make sure everyone was far away.” Yuki scruffed his hair, trying to slick it back.
