((Okay.))
Chase wanders over to the main room, hands in pockets.
(Anyone here?)
( yes! So can you just explain the rules now?)
(Yup I'm going to go ahead. Hopefully everyone sees it.)
The screen lit up. A black background with plain, large white text appeared. Enzo leaned forward and read aloud:
"Hello. Welcome to the Vote. You will all vote privately for one person in the building with you. Everyone must vote. Once the votes are counted, the person with the most votes will die. If you choose not to vote, the vote will be cancelled and everyone who did not vote will die. You have one hour to vote."
(For clarity: one hour in the RP can be however long irl so that everyone gets a chance to vote. Votes will not be revealed until everyone has voted. You will send your character's vote to @payten17. When she has counted the votes, she will reveal who was voted off. That character will die and leave the RP.)
Lixi was horrified. "No, no." She mumbled. It felt like the air was sucked out of her lungs as she read those words again. "No, no." She sobbed, hot tears rolled down her cheek, as her body shook. Lixi stumbled over to Enzo. "No please, I don't want to die." She sobbed. Each minute, it was getting harder to breathe as if she was floating to space, the room spun faster and faster, her face felt so hot. It felt like she was going to fade away.
(River!! i think she died)
Enzo pulled the girl close, his own heart racing. He had to think. This must be a joke, right? Some sort of evil, twisted prank? There is no way anyone would actually ask human beings to take other human being's lives to save their own. That'd be sick. He tried to speak, faltered, and then started again. "I-it's okay, conejita," he said softly, "you're not –you're not gonna die, hear me? This must be fake."
(River!! i think she died)
(What?)
(THAT'S SO COOL)
Liam stiffened. Sure, he didn't like all of them, but death? It seemed like too much.
"What in the world…?"

Lixi silently sobbed. She tried to be like her heros, brave. But it was all stripped from her when she heard the words, ever since, she woke up here in this house. Her body shook unbearably as she silently cried. "I'm scared, I want to go home." She pleaded.
"It's gonna be okay," he said again, but the words sounded hollow even to himself. He glanced over her head at Liam. "How are we even supposed to vote?" he wondered. "Do you even see anything?"
Chase stays silent. Anyone who knows him knows this means he's worried.
Lixi quietly hypervanilated as an attempt to get herself together. This is ridiculous. She knew that she might not make it home, but if she wanted to die, she want to die a hero, like the Avengers did. Her hyperventilating slowed to quiet intakes of breath as she was stuck in her thoughts.
He shook his head. "I see nothing. …But why? This is messed up…"
"I don't get it. It's insane…" He trailed off as the screen lit up again. He read aloud, "There is a small voting booth behind the wall to the immediate right of the screen. One person at a time. If more than one person enters, those two people will die."
He wasn't going to be going first. In all honesty, he was scared. What if I'm the highest pick?
"Wait." Enzo stood carefully, still keeping his arm around Lixi. "I have an idea. Everyone should vote for themselves. If everyone has one vote, no one dies, yeah?"
"W-wait, but what if the person isn't happy about it and…" She said in a raspy voice, but never finished her sentence,
Enzo had been thinking the same thing. He just needed to convince everyone it was in their best interest to vote for themselves…but what if it didn't work? He had to make sure he and Lixi didn't die. But how? He shook away his thoughts. "It's our best bet. What else can we do? Kill someone?"
"So what… we tell everyone who we're going to vote for? …What if someone chooses a vote instead of their assigned? Or the kidnappers see what we're doing and just kill one of us off?"
"I don't know, okay?" he snapped suddenly. This whole situation was completely out of his control. He hated it. "I'd love to hear some other, better ideas."
"Why don't we just break the freaking thing." Lixi felt so frustrated and helpless, she hated it.
He fell silent. For the first time in his life, he felt unsure.
