“No— that’s okay, it’s basically modeled after the traditional dance dresses, and I’ve never seen one in the human world before..”
“No— that’s okay, it’s basically modeled after the traditional dance dresses, and I’ve never seen one in the human world before..”
"Not exactly human." Kanoa smiled, showing tiny fangs. "It's what you get for being a demo-witch baby."
Laurie grinned. Whoah..” She turned back to the dress, checking the price tag.
Kanoa pulled a lollipop out of her bag. "What's the price?"
“$500.”, She said sadly.
"GREAT!" Kanoa grabbed the dress and grabbed Laurie, "C'MON LAURIE, TO THE CHANGING ROOMS!"
Laurie felt herself being pulled along. “But it’s so expensive!! I — I’m leaching off you now, that- that’s not fair to you!”
"No it is not!" Kanoa faced Laurie, "Now go in there and rock this dress!"
Laurie broke out into a wide smile, quashing the guilt in her. “Th-thank you.”, she said gratefully, slipping into the change room to try the gorgeous dress on.
"That's right girlie!" Kanoa yelled, "You rock!"
Lauriel grinned. Is this what it feels like to have a friend?, she thought happily as she closed the door to her stall after a bit of fiddling, turning to face the mirror. The dress was a darker, mug richer shade of blue than her skin, and had tiny golden words embroidered on parts of it that were invisible unless caught in the light. A shimmering golden sash with a large, fabric rose on the side adorned the waist, and it had one strap. It was gorgeous.
Kanoa checked the map for the makeup section and waited for Laurie to come out.
Laurie called for Kanoa softly, wanting her opinion. The dress swished around her ankles, the hem lined with gold thread.
"COminG!" Kanoa barreled past the doors and curtains, stopping where Laurie was. She gasped, "IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL! You're definitely slaying that dress!!"
Laurie blushed, grinning bashfully. “Th-thank you. We’re lucky it’s a replica, the originals cost millions.”
"WOw!" Kanoa touched Laurie, "Now let's go to the MAKEUP SECTION!"
Laurie grinned at her friend’s enthusiasm, changing quickly and following.
Kanoa tapped a salesperson, "Hi! Do you have anything for my friend over there?"
Laurie tucked a strand of hair behind one of her pointed ears nervously.
The salesperson smiled, "Just over there, I have something. Come!"
Laurie followed, whispering to Kanoa. “You’re not buying a dress?”
"I figured that I'd just show up naked." Kanoa laughed, "No, I'm kidding, I bought a dress two weeks ago."
Lauriel laughed along with her. She’d never felt so happy in her life. “That’be pretty funny.”, she giggled.
"Rayni would kill me." Kanoa laughed, "Speaking of Rayni, I just need to warn you." she turned and met Lauriel's eye, "She looks wayyyy different than me."
Laurie nodded. “Understood. Consider me warned.”
