(this is really awkward sorry I'm bad at starters)

The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the small but cozy kitchen. A copper kettle boiled on the stove, sending up curls of herbal smoke, and what appeared to be a winged jackalope napped peacefully on the counter.

Aethelind smiled, stroking her familiar and filling her mug with a third helping of tea and looking out the window at the sun, which had still risen and was slowly climbing higher in the sky, still tinted with ribbons of pink. It was around seven in the morning, her prime time. After a small breakfast and a fourth cup of tea, she double-checked her handbag to make sure she had everything, her (little-used) cell phone, her wallet, some snacks for her, a strange sort of trail mix she to feed her familiars with, a small charm for good energy, and a novel she'd picked up at the library last night. Then, she glanced at the mirror to make sure her appearance was satisfactory– hoop earrings on, shawl arranged properly around her shoulders, bandana tied around the base of her velvety brown witch hat–, called her chipmunk familiar to her shoulder, porcupine familiar to the special pocket of her large handbag, and baby jackalope to her other shoulder, and walked out the door of her small but homey flat.

It was May, so the sun shone and the weather was pleasant without being too hot, and flowers bloomed in vases and on lawns. A light breeze tossed Aethelind's dark hair as she made her way down to the tea shop and café that she worked in when she had a free day in university.

(eek that was bad and uncharacteristic of Aethelind sorry, I'm just bad at starters)

Hunter was in the park, sitting on top of his favorite tree. Con bothering him about drinking so much damn tea, as usual. "Damn it Con, let me drink my tea in peace!"

Axion was chilling in the park. Laying in the grass and tinkering with a bunch of mechanical parts in an attempt to make a clock.

Ryder rushed down the street, looking at his watch as he did so. He was going to be late. He pushed his glasses up and rushed on, dodging a woman walking down the street. He heard a bird call and looked up, smiling as a sparrow swooped overhead. He arrived at the library and pushed the tall, glass doors open.

The bell tinkled as Aethelind slipped into the Tea Shoppe and Cafe, letting Chamomile run off her shoulder and up onto the rafters, where he perched and observed Aethelind from above. “Morning Lindy.”, one of her colleagues greeted her as she took her place behind the counter and waited for a customer.

The Tea Shoppe was a quaint, homey building with one wall made of pretty red brick and the rest out of light paneled wood. It had large, arching windows with old fashioned covers, and circular tables and chairs were set here and there. Three of the four walls were covered with shelves that made way for the windows, all covered with hundreds of unique tea blends and packets, each labeled not only with ingredients, but possible side effects, perks, and healing uses. Some blends were merely mixes of herbs and fruits, but others held harmless magical ingredients that served a variety of purposes, curing migraines, enhancing concentration before a test, sharpening memory, etcetera. The Shoppe also served tea, coffee, and other drinks, also magically enhanced, as well as baked goods and treats, not only for humans but for their familiars as well.

Lily walked into The Shoppe, sporting one of her usual vintage Star Wars shirts tucked into a pair of high waisted ripped jeans. She pushed her round glasses up he nose and flicked a strand of her dirty blonde hair out of her face as she walked up to the counter with a smile.
"Hiya, may I have a hot chocolate, please?" She asked to the girl behind the counter.

Aethelind looked up from the cash register to see a pretty blonde girl looking at her over a pair of round glasses. Smiling at the customer, she flicked a finger at Holly (the jackalope), who was pawing at a twenty dollar bill. “Sure! Would that be made with dark, milk, or a blend of white and milk chocolate? Also, I should probably warn you that the milk chocolate comes with a side effect of a weak beauty charm, it doesn’t change your face or anything, just adds a glow to your face and lasts twenty four hours. The dark hot chocolate is also good for runny noses.”

Hunter looked down to his empty cup. "Out of tea. I heard that the new tea shoppe is good." He says, jumping down from the tree as Con flied behind him.

"Milk chocolate is fine, thank-you. And the beauty charms fine, I need it anyway with a face like mine." Lily flicked her bag over her shoulder and fumbled around to try and find her purse, bringing it out once she did.

"Sure. And I wouldn't say that, about your face I mean." Aethelind turned to pull a mug from the shelves behind her, but paused to look back at the blonde girl. "Would you like it to go, as a blend, or are you just going to drink it here?" Muttering an incoherent spell under her breath, she called down a jar of marshmallows from a shelf too high for her to reach.

Lily tried to contain her blush but failed, ”I’ll just drink it here, thanks.” She rubbed at her neck for a moment before pulling out the right amount of cash she needed to pay for her drink.
