(lol sounds good. Yes please)
Lou sat up, kicking his legs on the stool by his counter. The TV played the news softly, lowest volume possible as to not wake Jay, who may or may not have been still sleeping within his room.
Louis wasn’t focused on the TV whatsoever. Nor Bean, who was sitting happily in his owner’s lap. Nor the coffee he held in his hand.
He was just smiling like a kid, still rocking his feet back and forth. A second cup of coffee sat on his counter, the one he had made for Jay, of course.
Louis glanced out the window, seeing the morning sky still dark. It should have been cold, considering Lou was shirtless and just had sweats, but he had kicked on the heater, giving his apartment a nice, cozy feel.
Jay was still curled up in the sheets, sleeping. He woke up after a while and pulled on a pair of pants, which hung low on his hips as he came out of the bedroom, rubbing his eyes and yawning. "Good mornin'." He greeted with a soft smile, looking over at Lou.
“Morning,” Lou cooed, his voice raspy. His hair was a mess, the short sides askew and the curly strands falling into his tired eyes. He smiled, holding out Jay’s cup of coffee for him.
Jay took the coffee gratefully. He looked exhausted, but happy. "Thanks." He said. He sat down next to Lou, leaning against the Frenchman. His voice was hoarse and tried. "What…" He yawned. "…time is it?"
“Five,” Lou replied, nodding his head at the digital clock near the TV. He took another sip of his coffee. “But it can be any time you want.”
He sighed. "I should leave in about thirty minutes." He said, cuddling into Lou's side. He sighed softly, taking a sip of coffee.
Lou raised his arm and put it around Jay, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
“So…,” he began, his eyes still closed. “How are you feeling about this time-traveling Frenchman?”
Jay shrugged a little. "I think that I wanna get to know you better." He replied. "I think you're attractive, and unlike you rather a lot." He kissed Lou's cheek. "Also, you're rather good in bed, which is always a plus." He chuckled.
“Oh, am I?” Lou said cockily. “Why, thank you.”
He was relieved so much more than he lead on. He just smiled widely, opening his eyes and looking at the TV, flipping through and changing it to a music channel.
Jay laughed a little bit. "Mhm." He replied. He took another sip of coffee, taking a deep breath. "Thank you, by the way. For everything."
“Are you kidding?” Lou said, his voice breaking slightly. “I should be thanking you. I’m the freak here.”
He stoked the puppy in his lap, the terrier yawning in response.
Jay looked up when Lou's voice broke. "Hey, you aren't a freak." he said softly, cupping Lou's cheek with one hand. "You are many things, Lou, but a freak is not one of them. I swear to you, a freak is not ever one of them."
Lou smiled, his eyes softening and resting on Jay’s. His hand flew up to meet the man’s and he pulled it down, holding Jay’s hand instead.
“Thank you,” Lou mumbled, looking down at their hands and squeezing his tighter. “That’s… all I have ever needed to hear.”
He laughed softly, his smile lingering.
He smiled gently, and kissed Lou softly. "Of course." He murmured, pulling away and snuggling closer. "You aren't a freak. You're unique, and wonderful." He said, looking up at Lou.
“You’re amazing,” he breathed. “How did I manage to land you?”
Lou blushed, smiling. He really felt that. How did he manage to find Jay?
He pet the dog on his lap, remembering the cafe.
I guess you brought us here, huh Bean, Lou thought. Thanks for being cute and making people want to pet you.
"Hmm." Jay hummed for a moment. "By being very lucky." he replied with a laugh, kissing Lou's cheek softly. "And having an adorable dog." he looked down at Bean, giving the dog a kissy noise as well, then looking up at Lou again.
Bean yipped softly in his sleep, his ear perking slightly as he woofed. His small paws stretched out and he yawned.
“I do, don’t I?” Lou said in a high-pitched voice, like the kind one would talk to a small child with. Bean’s eyes opened and his tail began to wag furiously.
Jay smiled when he saw Bean, and reached down to pet the little dog. He took another sip of coffee, a soft smile still on his face. He leaned his head on Lou's shoulder. "So. I don't really have any free time today except at lunch." He said slowly.
“What are you guys doing today?” he asked. He rested his head of the top of Jay’s. His hand found the back of Bean and he scratched the pup’s head.
"Ugh. Going places. I think at least one museum? And an art place? I don't know exactly." He replied with a soft laugh, shaking his head.
“Sounds thrilling,” Lou said sarcastically, drawing out the last word. He stifled a laugh, hugging Bean against his chest and moving from the stool. He took his remote, shutting off the TV and looking at the clock, which now read 5:25.
He looked back reluctantly. “You should probably… get ready,” he mumbled, clearly upset.
He shrugged. "I'm sure it will be." he replied with a laugh. He sighed. "I know. I should." he headed back to the bedroom, pulling on his shirt and smoothing it out carefully, tucking his wallet in his back pocket. "Walk me back?" he asked.
Lou was already by the door, a light jacket zipped over his barren chest. Bean was by his side, his thin red leash tangled in Lou’s hand.
“One step ahead of you,” he replied. “Shall we?”
Lou held out his hand, opening the door to the chilly dark morning.
