(Hi I'm here for a bit)
Veda. Veda! VEDA! Snap out of it! You have to wake up. Wake up Veda WAKE UP!
Veda sat straight up in bed, gasping. "Wha–" She looked down at her sweat-drenched covers. She sighed. Uh-oh. She pulled herself up, swaying slightly, and walked out of the room, subconsciously pulling her sleeves down.
Abby headed back to her and Veda's room to see Veda in the doorway. "Woah, no." Abby put her arms around her a guided her back to the bed. "You're not going anywhere right now, okay?"
"Wha–Abby? What happened?" She asked, confused as Abby guided her back to her bed.
"Your sick girlie. Here," Abby put a thermometer under Veda's tongue. "Hold that there until it beeps."
Veda obeyed Abby.
Beep! Beep! Beep! Abby took the device out and her eyes couldn't help but widen. 102.8 F
Veda looked down at the thermometer. "You're kidding…" She muttered.
"Here, drink up." Abby held out the glass of water to Veda. When Veda took it, she turned and began searching through the box. "How long have you been sick without telling me?"
Veda shrugged. "A while."
(I gtg, I'll be back later)
Veda shrugged. "A while."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Abby bit her lip.
(Bye! BBS!)
Olivia put the movie in. she had bought 'Meet the Robinson's' for them to watch right after the movie started, she heard someone say "Why didn't you tell me?". she walked into the room and saw Veda on the bed while Abby was rummaging through the box
Abby jerked her head when Olivia came in. "Olivia, is something wrong?"
Veda bit her lip. "Because I didn't want to worry you. And I thought it would pass. I haven't been this sick since……" She choked. "Since…….."
Holly decided to see what the commotion was about. She saw Veda on the bed, Abby and Olivia by her side. "Okay, what's going on?" she asked.
Abby's eyes looked at Veda, but her body positioning still faced Olivia. "Since what?" She asked kindly. "You don't have to tell me," she quickly added.
"Holly! Veda's just sick. Please go watch the movie," Abby urged.
"Since the island." Veda whispered. "Since the bloodwolves were unleashed on us." She hugged her knees to her chest.
"Well, how sick is she?" Holly asked. You're a medical student, just think of this as extra credit. she thought.
"Holly, Olivia, go," Abby said firmly. She pushed them out of the room. "I'll be right out." She told them, then shut the door. She turned and sat next to Veda on the bed, rubbing her back gently. "What can I do?"
"Bacon crisp our lard and savor." Holly muttered.
"I'll be okay Abby. No reason to worry." Veda said softly. She thought back to how many times she had repeated those words. And how many times she had been wrong. Her phone buzzed again, saying the same name as before. Veda ignored it.
