Ash opened her mouth to say something, but she quickly shut it as Elowan began to lead her outside of the house and towards a car. As she noticed the old camero as Elowan's, a small smile crossed her lips as she began to make her way towards it. She had always enjoyed dusty or antique like things, so this car was seemingly perfect for her liking. "I love your car," Ash announced after a moment, turning towards Elowan with a wide grin.
Elowan blushed. "Don't let her hear that. She's a pampered old witch." She walked up to her car, jiggling the passenger side door until it finally opened. She then crossed over to the driver's side, whispering 'c'mon, c'mon, open up babes.' until the door sprung open. She swung herself inside, telling Ash to "Just slam the door closed, it won't shut otherwise."
(Sorry, I've been gone for so long.)
Ash nodded, chuckling a bit as she walked over towards the other side of the car and jumped in. It took her a few tries to actually manage to close the door, but once she did, she reclined into the chair in a comfortable fashion, flashing a bright smile towards Elowan. It was almost rare that Ash was smiling this much, but she couldn't help it around the other.
(It's fine. Just glad this isn't dead.)
Elowan revved up the car, praying it would work. Half the time the camero absolutely refused to do anything but shudder, cough, and force you to call a tow truck. She let out a sigh of relief when the old lady got going, steering the car around the corner and onto the highway. Her apartment was a snug little place in the middle of downtown, right next to her favorite club. "So…Why did you come to that party?"
"Well, one reason; there's free booze," Ash explained with a light chuckle as she tugged her jacket closer to her body, finding the night a bit cold. "But, I've always liked parties. There's a lot of noise and no one pays much attention to me…which is exactly what I want sometimes," she added with a small shrug as she glanced over towards Elowan, raising a brow as if she were asking them the same question.
Elowan laughed. "I came because I like being noticed. Parties really let me go crazy, do things I can't in my normal life. I can't be the center of attention in my real life, but at parties, I get to let loose. I get to shed all the social contracts binding me and just be myself." She shrugged, trying to downplay the seriousness of her answer.
"Well, you definitely got me to notice you," Ash said, a broad, almost too big, grin crossing her face as she winked at Elowan teasingly. Elowan was honestly very attractive, which seemed to make Ash wonder why they chose some like someone like herself.
"Glad to know my plan was a success!" Elowan cheered, smiling brightly at Ash before she put her focus back on the road. "Oh yeah! My neighborhood is pretty loud, does that bother you?" Elowan hoped her neighbor wouldn't be playing their stupid heavy metal again. That would be a terrible impression for her to make on Ash, especially when she wanted Ash to like her. Really badly.
"I have some pretty loud neighbors too, so it's okay," Ash answered, giving Elowan a small smile before she looked towards the road, humming a small tune as she watched the streets.
Elowan sighed in relief when she arrived at the building and found that it was still standing. She'd always had a little fantasy about someone accidentally setting the building on fire after one late night incident that forced everyone to evacuate. She opened the door and made a sweeping, gentlemanly- or womanly, in her case- gesture to usher Ash in.
Ash let a small laugh escape her lips as she saw Elowan almost sweep for her to walk in, though in her case, it sounded more like a giggle. Quickly shutting her mouth so she wouldn't laugh further, she stepped inside, looking around the building for a few moments.
Elowan pouted when Ash cut off her giggle, quickly deciding that she was going to be making Ash laugh a lot in the future. "So, how do you like the lobby? The stains are a bit disconcerting, but I promise they probably aren't bloodstains." She smiled to show she was joking and strutted over to the elevator.
"I like it," Ash hummed with a small smile, following after Elowan with much smaller steps. It was honestly nicer then where she lived, so she wouldn't be complaining about a lot of things…even if there were a few oddly shaped stains on walls.
Elowan smiled. "Yeah, I picked it out because I had a really cool gut feeling about it. It's mostly proven me right." She pushed the 8th-floor button and leaned back on the wood-paneled wall of the elevator. "My place is kind of… crazy. My friend Sequoia was just over and she kind of makes a mess out of everything."
Ash laughed a bit at the sound of that, though part of her felt a small twinge of jealousy at the sound of another person. She immediately scolded herself for thinking that…and she had just met Elowan, so she couldn't just get jealous over simple friends. "What's it like?" Ash asked, looking up towards Elowan with a thoughtful expression. "Your room, I mean."
"Well, the walls are covered in posters and stickers and stuff. I have my guitar in the corner. A dresser, my bed, it's pretty standard really." She shrugged. "It's all kind of a mess right now. How about you?"
"I share it with my brother," Ash said with a slight shrug, fiddling with her jacket for a few moments. Sure, a lot of siblings shared rooms, though she and her brother actually shared the living room. Her deadbeat mother didn't bother saving up to buy beds or much less mattresses, so the living room couches were an easier choice. "We have a few posters up, though it's rather bland…though, we've been trying to get a record player since we have a couple old records our dad left behind."
Elowan nodded, reaching over to pull Ash into a hug. It was weird how much she liked having the girl in her arms. "Sounds cool. I used to share a room with Tiv. We both absolutely hated it though. She's a really tidy person and I'm kind of a slob. She used to hide all my shit while she cleaned our room." She smiled brightly at the memory. The elevator dinged, signaling that they were on her floor.
Ash laughed lightly, resting her head against Elowan in a pleasant manner, just staying like that for a few moments. She loved being held by the other, especially since there was a height different between them. Though, the hug was broken up by the dinging as the elevator sounded, and she resisted the urge to let out a small groan at that.
Elowan kissed Ash on the temple before picking her up princess style and walking down the hall. It was pretty clear that Ash didn't want to leave her arms and now she didn't have to. And if Elowan was showing off how strong she was because her other girlfriend thought was hot, that was no one's problem. Elowan was glad she'd been going to the gym.
Ash laughed as Elowan picked her up, a faint blush crossing her cheeks as she buried her face into the other girl's shoulder so they wouldn't see how flustered she had gotten. Though, she really enjoyed being carried by Elowan like this…even if she wouldn't admit it out loud yet.
Elowan walked down the hall with Ash in her arms, shifting the girl to her left side while she opened the door. When she was finally inside, she tossed Ash onto the couch and re-locked her door. Her living room was quite a bit cleaner than the rest of her house and she was profoundly glad. She would hate for Ash to think of her as a total slob. "What movie do you want to watch?"
"Anything that you like," Ash said with a small, partly muted giggle as she was tossed onto the couch. She pushed herself up and patted the area next to her, hoping that Elowan would come and sit down with her.
Elowan grabbed 'Shaun of the Dead' and put it into the DVD player. She hopped onto the couch with a smile, snuggling happily into Ash's said. She kissed Ash's neck lazily, more entertained by her new…friend? Girlfriend? Lover? Whatever they were. She decided it didn't really matter. She liked Ash. Ash liked her. They didn't need labels to be happy.
