“ what!? Corbin that’s not fine!” Cyrus said and pulled Corbin into a hug, squeezing him. Not tightly but enough to feel it. “ I shouldn't have gone to training today…” he mumbled “ were you hurt? Did they do anything to you?” he asked after letting go. At some point he'd taken the small towel off his face and put it down somewhere.
Corbin buried his face in Cyrus' shoulder and clung to him, trying not to cry. "He… h-he pushed me up against the wall and he took my wallet… there… wasn't much in it, b-but still…" He hiccuped and gripped Cyrus a bit tighter. "S-Sorry…"
“ cori it's not your fault. It's mine, I left you alone knowing damn well this could have happened “ he said and held onto corbin. Eventually, Cyrus picked corbin up and sat a long way on the couch, and kicked off his shoes. He stayed there and comforted corbin for however long he needed or wanted. “ either way, it's over now and I'm not leaving your side, everything in that wallet was replaceable, your not. I'm just glad you made it home.”
Corbin nodded weakly and wrapped his wings around himself as he huddled up with Cyrus, keeping his face hidden. "I-I was… I was really scared that h-he would hurt me since I'm p… p-poor, and there isn't much in my wallet…" He whispered. "I f-felt like I was gonna throw up when he finally left with it…"
Cyrus nodded, listening to corbin. He rubbed his back and kept his arms around him. “Understandable, that had to have been a traumatizing moment. “ he spoke softly to Corbin and hummed softly one of his few violin songs. He moved his wings to wrap around them both, the longest feathers just nearly touching.
Corbin hiccuped again and a couple of tears rolled down his pale cheeks. He buried his face further in Cyrus' shoulder, trembling. "I'm s-sorry… I shouldn't… I shouldn't have walked home without you there… I-I should've taken a c-cab or something…"
“ corbin it's not your fault so don't apologize, “ he said stern but soft. Cyrus' heart almost broke when he heard corbin start to cry, he held him closer and a little tighter. “ I've got you, I'm not going to leave your side no more,”
Corbin coughed weakly, his tight grip on Cyrus starting to waver from his trembling. He broke down in Cyrus' arms, choking back sobs as his wings puffed up in distress. He wanted to apologize again, but he was having trouble forming coherent words.
Cyrus teared up a bit from corbin crying. He held onto him on ce the other let go “ its okay.., I got you” he mumbled calming words to the other, trying his best to support him.
It took a while for Corbin to settle down again, finally relaxing somewhat in Cyrus' arms. His breathing was still ragged and shallow, and he was pretty much limp, but he seemed to have stopped crying at least.
“…” Cyrus snuggled corbin when he finally relaxed, wiping some blood from his face to keep it off corbin. He sighed and kissed corbins head
"I'm… I'm sorry for making a bit thing out of this…" Corbin whispered after a bit. "P-People get mugged all the time… I shouldn't be so upset about it…"
“ you should be upset, cori that was serious. You could have gotten hurt.” he said an looked at corbin
Corbin sighed shakily. "Y-Yeah, but I didn't really get hurt, so now I'm kinda just being a wuss about it…"
“ no corbin you're taking this seriously,” he said and rubbed corbins back. “ I promise you you're not being a wuss”
Corbin looked up at Cyrus weakly, his expression changing to confusion and concern when he saw Cyrus' face. "Cy, what… what happened? You're bleeding!"
“ I'm fine, “ he said while whipping his face. “ it's nothing serious. “ he said trying to avoid the subject.
"Cyrus, it doesn't look good… w-we gotta clean you up. Why didn't you tell me you were hurt?" Corbin asked worriedly.
“ because I was worried for you, yours was more important than my little cut. “ he said and sat up.
Corbin sighed softly. "I'm sorry…" He held a bit tighter to Cyrus, fighting between not wanting to let go and not wanting to be burdensome.
Cyrus held corbin tightly, “ would you quit saying sorry, it's not your fault,” he said with a laugh, trying to brighten the mood. “ blue jays are tough! I'll make it through,” he said smiling at corbin
Corbin fought the urge to apologize for apologizing so much. "I just… I'm worried about you, and I feel like I prevented you from treating your injuries by… my whole thing."
“ I was going to ask if you’d do it anyway, so either way I still wanted to tend to you first. It can’t be that bad right? I’ve not passed out yet, so we’re good” he said, Cyrus let Corbin up to go get cleaned and bandaged up.
Corbin sighed softly and followed Cyrus closely, fetching bandages and disinfectant so he could help Cyrus clean up the wounds. "Alright… how many cuts do you have?" He asked, his voice quiet.
“ three, two on my side and one on my face.” He said and faced Corbin.
