Though she nods in understanding, following him back to the room they were once in.
Once they were in the room, she glares up at him, trying to work up the courage to say something about earlier.
(I'm just going to quote the last paragraph)
Jules could feel she was on edge. He’d just made things worse. So much for trying to calm someone down. He watched the escape attempt, noting that it was Sean. He was too wary of the situation to do anything about him and hoped Parker would be okay. When he had slipped back into the room, he readied himself to be a witness. Things like this didn’t happen every day. He brushed off his clothes and watched the door as Vienna entered. Jules knew she was pissed, keeping his distance from the girl. He turned around and looked at Vienna with sad eyes. He didn’t look like his happy self, just a sad puppy. He slipped off his satchel and hung it on a hook. Jules went back to organizing the second stack of records to distract himself before he said anything.
“I’m sorry.” He managed to squeak out. “I thought it would help. It always does..” His voice held a tinge of sadness, but he was upset at himself rather than Vienna. His body shivered, and he laid in one of the recovery beds, waiting for leader to get back. Things were about to get messy, and he knew that. Jules was preparing himself for the next few days. The days of chaos and disorder.
(sorry eventually I'll throw my guy in here XD)
Sean had hit the ground, rolling under the door and making it outside, avoiding her, he had managed to open it about a foot, which was enough for his small self to get through. He stood up, "Because I miss being a scout, even if it was for the gov, I got to go outside daily and I could play with my gun, believe it or not Its a waste to keep me inside, im the best shot you got and 'Leader' knows it." He said the name everyone used for Mark with sarcasm.
She glared at him, "why are you trying to sneak out if that's the case? You could clearly sign up to scout and show valuable you could be, but instead your breaking rules left and right just so you get a taste of fresh air. Without even bothering to ask anyone. Now I have to radio in to the leader that you broke not only one, but two rules heck maybe three." She sighed, rubbing her face.
"Not too late to come back inside, no one has to be notified."
Vienna wasn't thinking about being a witness or about the chaos that would follow. No. She was more concerned about talking to Jules.
She was hyping herself up in her mind with words such as "you got this" and "don't be a pu$$y. say something"
But she never got anything out until he started talking.
He was…apologizing? Saying sorry about that was the last thing she expected him to say after this. Did he think he was better than her by saying that or was he genuinely sorry? She looks up at him now, realizing how sad he looked. How sorry he was.
Vienna was never used to people apologizing and she was taught by her mother to never apologize to anyone else so saying the words "I'm sorry" were foreign to her. Not in the way that she didn't know what it meant. It was just so rare to hear someone say those words and actually mean it. Normally it shoed a sign of weakness but this almost felt belittling in a way.
She clears her throat "don't just make assumptions. Everyone is different" she says bluntly, her tone cold and a bit irritated.
"don't touch me and stop reading my mind. It creeps me out" she shivers, looking back to the door. Not knowing whether or not to change the subject to what they had just seen.
"anyway" Vi sighs, annoyed at both him and herself. "what do we do about what we saw" she asks
Jules pulled the sheets over him, clutching a pillow. He looked up at Vienna with sad, weary eyes. “I don’t-uh-read minds. I don’t have superpowers. What I do notice is…” He paused, unsure how he could sound less creepy. “You display what you’re thinking through your face and body language. That’s how I know. I-uh-I didn’t mean to seem creepy.” He turned away from her and closed his eyes, sighing shakily. “I won’t make any more assumptions. I was hoping I could calm you down. Make you feel less on edge. Maybe make a friend, but it seems I blew that out of the water.” He wasn’t expecting any pity from her. That wasn’t his intention. He wanted to explain himself. That's all. “I won’t come near you anymore, but that’ll make work hard.” Jules turned onto his back and looked at the ceiling. How could he fix this? He didn’t know. All he knew was he needed to stay awake long enough to report the incident.
Sleep was pulling Jules in steadily. His eyes teetered on the thin line between sleep and consciousness. He sat up, trying to ward off sleep. “We need to wait until leader gets back. Then we can tell him what we saw, alrighty?” He laid back down, his eyes heavy from the burden that was sleep. He tried to resist, but soon sleep pulled him into its land of dreams.
She lets out a heavy sigh, rolling her eyes as she pulls her hair up into a high ponytail, then looping it onto a bun and securing it. A few strands of curly black hair fall into her face, framing it just how she liked it.
Vienna sits down, looking up at the ceiling.
"you don't have to stay away from me…I'd like a friend too" she says quietly before he falls asleep
just don't hug me out of nowhere she thought to herself, looking back at him, watching as his mind drifts into what she could only assume was a better world than this.
She pulls her knees up to her chest, resting her cheek on her knee as it mushed into her face. She blinks a few times, her eyes staying on him as her mind wandered.
His intentions were pure she realized that now. But she also wasn't used to affection being shown to her other than from her own mother. How could she know someone's intentions were true to what they said? Anytime she would do that she would be sorely mistaken and honestly embarrassed.
Vi lifts her head and looks the other way as she realizes how long she had been staring.
gosh..now im the creep.
She thought about his looks for a little longer though, noting how attractive he was. Though she wasn't too focused on that as much as she was his demeanor. How he held himself and how he spoke meant a lot. If someone speaking to him weren't as wary and as paranoid as her, they'd probably fall head over heels.
Vienna tries her best to shake herself of her thoughts about him, trying to convince herself that she could trust him.
When Jules awoke from his slumber, he was filled with terror as he realized what had happened. His heart rate accelerated, and he sat up startled. He took a look around and noticed Vienna. Everything else appeared to be in order, and no one had entered. He couldn't possibly sleep during the day. When he had his own quarters, he was not allowed to sleep in the beds reserved for patients. Jules jumped out of bed as quickly as he could. He neatly made the bed, pulling the sheets up over the pillows and laying out the blanket. "I am deeply sorry about that." His response was breathy and he shook himself awake. "I'm not supposed to sleep in here." Jules walked over to the shelves where the medical supplies were kept. He had a strong feeling that something bad was about to happen.
On his desk, Jules placed three small containers. He arranged bandages, medicines, syringes, gauze, gloves, tape, tweezers, and scissors in each one. Things you'd normally find in a first-aid kit. He popped the lids on all three containers and stacked them on top of one another. Jules frantically scrambled around, preparing for the worst-case scenario. From his desk, he took a few journals. After his short nap, he seemed to have regained his energy. "So there we have it. In case anything goes wrong. Hopefully, this will relieve the discomfort in my stomach." He smiled as he looked at Vienna. She appeared to be much more at ease than she had been previously. He didn't dare to check the entrance by creeping out the hall and navigating the maze.
(Where is everyone currently?)
(Jules and Vienna are currently in the infirmary [I think that's what you're asking])
(Would you guys mind if I sent my other twin?)
Azzy made his way to infirmary, he managed to dislocated his shoulder on a scout mission earlier, it's why he didn't go out with the leader on the scout mission earlier.
He moved closer to the entrance hearing voices in the infirmary, two of them. He paused at the entrance, pressing his ear to the wall. He wanted to try and hear any little tid bits of conversation, but unfortunately he didn't get anything. Maybe if he waited a little bit longer…
Only a small amount of time had passed while Jules was asleep and Vienna had entered a sort of daydream state of being half asleep yet awake at the same time. Maybe she was asleep but she wouldn't actually know.
Vienna basically jumps out of her skin when Jules springs up, her head whipping around to see him frantically moving things around. And to add to her visible confusion, he apologizes. She couldn't hide the small look of amusement on her face that came with her smile as she let out a soft chuckle. "You only have to be sorry if you let anyone else know because my lips are sealed" she says with a small laugh as she runs her fingers over her lips as if to "seal" them.
She stands up and stretches, her head feeling a bit light as she did and her vision fading in and out. This was something she was used to, so her first instinct was to lean on the bed Jules was just on. You would think being a medic and all she would have done something to help her iron deficiency but her focus wasn't on taking care of herself it was more on taking care of others.
Vi takes a deep breath and blinks a few times before she's able to stand up straight so she doesn't fall over due to standing up so quickly.
I should really do something about that…
(sorry its short im kinda just leaving reaction time)
(Right response)
Jules panted as he finished stacking all of his medical supplies, his head spinning from all the rushing around. His stomach pains persisted, but there was nothing he could do to alleviate the discomfort. He shifted his gaze to Vienna, who was running her finger over her lips. "I appreciate it." He kept an eye on her as she stood up and stretched. Jules was back in action after she leaned on the bed for support. He dashed over to his medicine cabinet and pulled out an iron supplement. He walked over to Vienna and assisted her in standing up. Jules had a gentle touch. “Here.” He handed the supplement to her. “You'll have to take it without water, but it should be beneficial.” How did Jules find out she had an iron deficiency? He's been around the bend long enough to know.
Another feeling had plagued his body. He had a sneaking suspicion that someone was in trouble. To keep Vienna stable, Jules leaned her against the wall and peered out the infirmary door. That's when Jules first noticed Azzy and his dislocated shoulder, almost shrieking. "Don't take your time out here!" His voice was trembling with panic. "Please come in." Jules walked out of the room and placed a gentle hand on Azzy's back to guide him in. "How did your shoulder dislocate?" He looked at Vienna, confident that she would understand and record the incident. Jules gently placed his hand on the dislocated shoulder and waited for Azzy to finish before repositioning it.
Azzy jumped when Jules came out with his very high volume voice, nothing seemed suspicious when Jules saw.him as he heard the foot steps coming towards the door.
He looked at Jules as he escorted him in, noticing how panicked he had been,
"I was just on my way in, but I heard talking and I didn't want to interrupt you guys. It dosent hurt all that bad, I think after this I might be able to pop.my shoulder in and out willingly.' He joked, nodding at Vienna when he saw her.
He turned to look back at Jules with a soft wince.
"It was on a scout mission, I was with someone else up high and when we went to exit the area and get down, my partner slipped and fell. Fortunately enough I managed to catch them before they fell all the way down, but i barely managed to grip the edge. It stretched out my shoulder and well it popped right out of the socket I guess you could say. Luckily no other injuries occured."
He spoke fluidly, as if he wasn't in a good bit of pain from his shoulder. He made a Loud groan when the shoulder was repositioned, before exhaling softly. He's probably done this more then once if we're being honest.
Jules lowered his voice to a hushed tone. You'd think that because he's trained to treat these injuries, he wouldn't be as worried, but his anxiety was caused by the tingling sensation in his stomach. "You wouldn't interrupt us. We were discussing our medical journals at the time." He said softly. It was a lie, but one he had to keep. "Please don't stick your shoulder in and out like that. That'll put a strain on the joint." Jules worried about the scouts as he listened to Azzy's story. He let out a small sigh before gently placing his hands in place and quickly pulling on the arm. Muscles and tendons move to allow the bone to return to its original position. It was an unsightly, cringe-inducing change that could make anyone puke. "So there we have it. Is your partner in good health?" Jules despised hearing about a death. He did his best to treat everyone, but he couldn't recall whether Azzy's partner had come by.
"Now." Jules sat the boy down and examined him thoroughly. "As the week progresses, let me know if there is any pain in that shoulder. I can give you something to help with the agitated site, but your shoulder shouldn't hurt now that it's back in." With his healing abilities, he took care of some minor cuts and scrapes. He despised using the abilities because it made him appear to be a superhuman freak. This was the only thing that reminded him that he had once lived within the confines of the government. He was subjected to an experiment, and as a result, he was cursed. Jules gently ran his two figures, his ring and pointer, over the small cuts, the cuts closing nicely. It was almost as if he was practicing witchcraft. Jules shifted his gaze away, squishing the palm of his right hand against his cheek, which caused his right eye to close. He was ashamed and hoped Azzy wouldn't ask him any questions about it. He didn't want to think about how he'd ended up with such a curse.
Vienna offers a small smile to him as she watches him calm down, glad she would be able to ease his nerves a little. If she did at all.
She looks at him wide eyed at his sudden actions once again, throwing her off guard causing her to tense.
Her first instinct was to slap it away but she tries her best not to, so she stands still for a second, trying to move.
She takes a deep breath and forces herself to slowly take it, her hand shaking in the slightest before she pops it in her mouth, swallowing it with ease. She was used to swallowing pills without anything to help it go down. Though she always preferred a juice of sorts than water when swallowing any type of pill as the consistency was much thicker and easier to swallow. Not to mention it was very yummy.
Though the last time she had any sort of juice was when she still lived with her mother so sadly, the nice fuzzy feeling had become a distant memory though it was never forgotten.
Once she swallows the pill, she takes a breath "thank you" she says before he pauses.
what is he doing? She wonders as she leans against the wall. Soon panic set in her body when Jules became loud and panicked as someone steps into the room.
She didn't expect it at all so she freezes, a bad habit she needed to get rid of.
Vi quickly snaps back into motion though and grabs the log, her eyes refusing to stay still as she flips through the pages to the most recent ones.
Her head whips up "uhm what's your name?" she asks, her voice shaking a small bit.
Soon her eyes widen in awe as she watches Jules heal the would, her jaw literally dropping. She quickly tries to pretend she doesnt see it just in case he was trying to hide it. Deciding to ask him about it after the patient had left.
But what was that?? And how?
scientifically that shouldn't be possible? What is this?
Azzy listen to jules talk, after he finished he just braced for impact, the snap back into place making him wince instensely. "My partner is alright. I was luckily the one to be seriously injured on that scout trip.' .he winked at Vienna, smiling at her. "Names Azzy, nice to meetcha." He smiled at her with a soft chuckle, trying to mask the pain. After a while tho, when Jules was healing, it left him kinda amazed at what Jules had done, healing all his cuts and brusies with just a wave of his hand.
Surely it couldn't have been just a really good cream or a medicine?
But then..he didn't take away medicine and no cream was applied..
He managed to shut his mouth instead of leaving it hanging open.
His eyes were still a bit wide, he looked over at Vienna to confirm it before looking back over at Jules.
He would have asked but, he sensed that for some reason he really didn't want to talk about it. So he decided not to bring it up.
The attention Jules was receiving from the two made him feel extremely humiliated. His face was flushed, and he wished he could disappear under the earth. He couldn't hide, though, and there was no denying they now thought he was a freak. Especially Vienna, since she had previously considered it. He would now be repulsed by her, and he would have shattered any hope of friendship. He liked Vienna’s company. Jules let out a sigh and turned to face Azzy, his hand resting on his chin. "You are free to go." He muttered, wondering whether Azzy was going to blab about his— ability to all of his friends. He didn’t dare go to the boys dorm now. Jules stood up and assisted Azzy on his way, trying to hide his embarrassment. He gave the boy a sad look. He almost closed the door in his face, wanting to hide under the sheets from Vienna’s gaze, but he was too polite. He knew this was one of the reasons the refugee had taught him medicine, and was sure they knew more on what the government had done to him.
Jules avoided Vienna at all costs once Azzy had left. Under his desk, he stowed the stack of kits and journals. He straightened up the place a little to make it presentable for whoever came in. He realized he couldn't hide any longer from Vienna, and that either she or he would have to speak up. The deafening silence was a better friend to Jules than Vienna. In a desperate situation, it was nonjudgmental and comforting. He was on the verge of crying at one point, but he kept himself together and wiped the forming tears from his eyes. He whined in his head, Please don't hate me. Jules carried on with his distracting activities, opting to play with the vital paperwork he needed to complete. He sat at his desk, pen in hand, working away on paperwork related to the previous week's reports.
(Ouch- lol azzy was gonna want to stay but Ig not lol)
(Azzy can stay if he wants. He could wonder back in if you'd like. Maybe Azzy could ask Jules about the healing thing >:3)(You can go against anything I write concerning your characters, I don't mind)
