Artemisia rubbed her arm. "You okay? You're a bit red."
Artemisia rubbed her arm. "You okay? You're a bit red."
"Oh, yeah I'm okay. I'm just stupid, is all." He grinned a little. Sobex made a weird purring sound.
"Ooookaay. Jus asking. I thought it might be a side effect from the cut. How's the cut feeling?"
"Better, thanks… um… Hey, I never asked your name."
"Artemisia." She felt her face flush slightly. Was she getting a cold?
"It's great to meet you. Sobex says it's a pleasure." Sobex yapped and slammed his tail onto the ground.
Artemisia chuckled. "It's great to meet you two too."
Gij smiled at her and Sobex yapped happily again.
Artemisia played with the end of her braid, noticing he had a nice smile. "So… is it just dragons that you can understand?"
"Well, I was raised into their language. Or I guess you could think of me as a Dragonborn from Skyrim." He chuckled.
"I haven't played Skyrim. Did you grow up with dragons then?"
"Well, no." He turned red. "I…"
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Artemisia shrugged.
"No, my parents are descendants from the dragon age, and they taught me how to recognize the language and speak it. It's… not as cool as it sounds, I don't think." He didn't want to seem like he was showing off…
"No it is! That's really neat! I thought that the bloodlines of the dragon age had all died off." She sat down across from him. "At least, that's what the history books say around here."
"Well, no. I'm about half, my dad said, or… he used to say." He shrugged.
Artemisia nodded. "Still, it's really neat that you can understand and speak the language!"
"Yeah, I guess." He let a small smile spread across his face. "Whenever I tell people I'm a dragon-blooded they just flinch away from me like I'm dangerous."
"Well, unless you can breathe fire, I'd say you aren't anymore dangerous then any other human." Artemisia chuckled before cutting herself off. "Wait, can you?"
"Well, I know the spell for it, but I've never tried it." Gij shrugged a little; he felt his smile slide off of his face.
(Quick question: How common is magic in this world?)
(Not common at all)
(Okee)
Artemisia's eyes widened. She gave a low whistle. "Wow, you speak dragon and know magic? You're a man of talent. What else ya hiding?"
(Hehe sorry I promise i don't want to make a common protagonist)
"Ugh, anything else? The only thing I can't do is fly. I even have a forked tongue." He sounded very annoyed about it.
"Whoa. What's that like?"
