"I know you won't trust me, but abuse is a higher crime then thievery in my books." She crossed her arms.
"I know you won't trust me, but abuse is a higher crime then thievery in my books." She crossed her arms.
"F-fine. Is it near here? I-I need to look at something… I got cut really badly, and… it hurts. So, can we hurry up?" He sounded slightly impatient but his voice was shaking with pain.
"Yeah. Follow me." She turned and climbed up a nearby trellis onto a window ledge. "Don't worry, it'll hold you." She called, unlatching the window.
He followed her, his legs shaking violently and protesting; the adrenaline from his run was wearing off and he started to feel the throbbing pain above his waist. Despite this, he followed his companion, but barely.
She climbed through and offered a hand.
He took it and helped hoist himself up. His dragon cooed its part.
Artemisia chuckled. "Cutie." She murmured, reaching past Gij and closing the window. "Alrighty." She turned and walked toward a small cabinet. "I've got some herbal remedies for the cuts, but I'm not sure what to do about the cracked scales." She turned. "Are either of you hungry?"
His dragon yelped and Gij nodded. "I… I suppose… I could… e…" His voice was faint and he was sinking down to the ground.
"Oh boy." Artemisia grabbed him and dragged him over to a chair. "Let's get both of you hydrated and clean those wounds."
His dragon rose on his lap and started to lick his face. It knocked the hoodie out of the way to show lank slate-black hair and (usually) bright green eyes. But now they were faded and half-closed. He looked quite handsome for his age, considering he looked to be about eighteen.
Artemisia couldn't help but study his face a bit. He looked like a decent fellow. "Where did you get cut, pal?" She asked, pulling out a cloth and medicinal salve.
He moaned in pain weakly and gestured to a gash in his side. He was laying awkwardly so the cloth of the chair didn't press into the wound. His dragon cooed nervously and continued licking his face.
She soaked the cloth in water, wringing it out as she knelt down. She gently dabbed at the wound. "What got kind of weapon got ya? Was it a poisoned one?"
Gij twitched occasionally but didn't moan in pain again. "I-I don't know. I think one of them scratched me with their claws, though. Th-that might be it…" He gasped in pain and grabbed the dragon suddenly. The dragon merely cooed and rubbed his face against Gij's.
"Mm." Artemisia fetched dressing before beginning to apply a salve. "Well, I'll apply some Ketos leaves to the wound just to be safe. That kills pretty much any basic poison."
Gij nodded. "Thank you… Sobex says his scales will heal with time. Right?" Sobex, the dragon, yapped.
"Oh, is that your name?" She asked the dragon. "What's your rescuer's name?" She asked, pressing leaves against the wound. "This might sting a bit."
Gij gasped and when the sting faded he answered, "I'm Gij. That's what people call me, anyway." Sobex yapped again and hopped around.
Artemisia nodded, wrapping the wound. She chuckled as Sobex hopped around. "Let's take a look at you Sobex." She said, finishing.
Sobex stopped and lashed his tail. "He says that he doesn't need it," Gij translated weakly, "Dragon wounds heal differently than our own. He says he'll be fine, so I believe him."
"You can understand him?"
"Yeah… That's also why I saved him. He wanted me to."
"Ah. Are you two hungry at all?"
"Yeah. Sobex is hungry. I'll eat whenever you cook." Sobex yapped happily and continued making out with Gij's face.
(Sobex you are killing me with cuteness)
"Well, what does Sobex eat?" She walked into the kitchen, checking her icebox. "I've probably got some cold cuts."
