"oh This got interesting…."
Sora rubbed the back of her neck, giving Jay an apologetic look. "Sorry about that, I wasn't really looking where I was going. My dad just got back from Japan, and I was texting him." Was she oversharing? Probably. Did she realize it? Absolutely not!
"Yeah, um. It's ok." Jay said to her.
Kate and Maria both came out of the restaurant, guns up and ready.
"Ladies, we don't have to do this! We can work this out like civil human being!"
"We tried," Kate spat back.
Jay turned when he heard the conflict. He was still close enough to hear it and see it slightly.
"yeah somehow, putting my parents back in that forsaken hell you call an asylum isn't going to work." he scoffed "But I am willing to negotiate other terms"
"What terms?" Kate asked, her eyes flicking briefly to her mother.
"you let us go, and we leave you alone! simple as that." he said
Vaneesa looked at reese.
"yeah no" reese said
reese grabbed vaneesa by the neck and slammed her to the ground.
Brink sighed and yanked her off Vanessa, pinning her down on the ground "no one asked you to do that dear."
"Hm?" Sora leaned over to look at what was going on, then frowned. It was honestly a wonder that most of her classmates hadn't ended up in jail or something yet. "Oh. Think we should stop them?" she asked. "Y'know, before they kill each other or an innocent bystander?"
"you let us go, and we leave you alone! simple as that." he said
"That's not going to happen," Maria replied, holding her gun evenly. "The Joker and Harley Quinn and criminals. And now, so are you and your friends."
Kate tensed when she saw Reese. Would he remember what she did?

"Yeah, I'd rather stay out of it. I don't choose sides." Jay replied then continued watching.
Sora frowned, then looked at her phone. Her dad had texted her back, but she'd been too busy talking to notice. "Well…I think we should at least say something…"
"You can do that. I don't really have a great reputation with them." Jay replied.
He threw his hands up in exasperation "Half of this damned city is villains! when will any of you understand! Bruce Wayne, or you won't fix that! and it's because of you people that we become like this!" He pointed around him "why can't you leave us alone?"
Kate blinked, shocked. Her mother shared nearly the same sediments. "You're threats to society," Kate said firmly.
Brink's words hit a nerve with Sora. She'd heard a story from her father several times, one about a villain from back when he was growing up. He had said something similar, that heroes shouldn't be revered by anyone and were destroying society. Several small-time thugs had sprouted up afterward, but were taken care of soon enough. Still, the villain–known as Stain–had caused a lot of people to question things and inspired others. This mentality was dangerous; even Sora wasn't naive enough not to realize that. "I'm going to call Mr. Iida. Either he'll call the police from there or he'll come and take care of it himself. Maybe both." Her bubbly, happy demeanor had been replaced by an anxious, quieter, and clearly upset one.
After all, her classmates were the children of great heroes and terrible villains. With training, who knew what they could eventually do?

"Hello? Oh, Sora! Is your father home yet?" Tenya Iida picked up his phone and answered. His son, Nate, looked up. His dad and Sora's were friends, having met in high school and both going into teaching and hero-ing on the side. He and Sora had bonded due to both of their families meeting frequently. Actually, they were planning on having the Todorokis over for dinner the next night. Looking up from his homework, he saw his father's face change from a happy greeting to concern. "I see. Yes, I'll be right there. Try not to get involved. Where are you? Alright, thank you. I'll see you soon." As he ended the call, Nate got up.
"Dad? What was that about?" he asked. His father was pocketing his cell phone and looking for something, presumably car keys. "Did Sora need something?"
Tenya found his keys, put them in his pocket, and grabbed his jacket off of the back of the chair. "Some of your classmates are fighting. From the sounds of it, they brought weapons. Sora was understandably worried, so she called. However, why she didn't contact the authorities first is beyond me. I suppose I'll need to do that while I'm on the way there."
Nate frowned. Of course his classmates were causing trouble. He could probably guess which ones, too. "Take care, then," he said as his father left in a rush. He always got like this when someone he cared about was in danger. A friend, a friend's kid, it didn't matter. Not that Nate minded. He understood; heck, he got the same way sometimes. But he couldn't help but worry.
"no. we're not. You're the ones who see us differently, treat us as if we're the crazy maniacs, though partly true, and make assumptions!" he sighed "if you see us that way, then that's what we are." he smiled evilly and nodded towards Vanessa
Vanessa sighed and walked to brinks side.
"now leave us alone….." He warned
"Or what?" Maria asked, her voice edged with clear annoyance. Her fingers tensed around her gun, preparing to fire.
