As Thatcher touched them, the shadow moved away, morphing into something bigger. A creature of some sort. It seemed to be moving off of the wall. The shadow opened it's mouth, and growled, it's fangs long and dark.

Thatcher heard the woman call to him, but it didn’t ease his nerves completely. He clenched his jaw, reminding himself that it was just a shadow, it was completely harmless.
"S-sorry." She stammered, pulling back the shadow. "I didn't realize. . . " Riann trailed off, sheathing her sword.
Thatcher looked around, his eyes landing on Rainn and the other woman. What was happening here?
"It's okay. You're okay," she said. "Though I think you might want to apologize to the new gardener," she continued, looking over her shoulder.

Riann shook her head, swirls of darkness still spreading around her feet. She flicked her wrist and they disappeared. No nobles seemed to see her, but she noticed Thatcher watching them.
"Do I have to. . .?" She asked. "I mean, he didn't realize it's me yet."
"Guess not, but he probably will soon. Do you want to go back in?"
