"I'm good!" He said quickly. His body still ached from the fall he'd had in training, but he'd gotten through the show well enough. He'd learned to adjust to injury quickly after arriving here. "Just glad to get to bed now," he added as an afterthought.
Aza gave a half-hearted, rueful laugh. "Agreed," she murmured.
As everyone left, Beaux left the opposite way. Although she wanted to go to her room she needed a bit of fresh air. No one was here to watch her leave, so she thought why not. The sunset was beautiful and the cool air felt nice on her hot skin. Going to her favorite spot she laid in the grass and closed her eyes. If she could, she would rather sleep out here than inside.
Wila headed for the forest near where the performers slept, needing to get away for a bit from everything. "Miss me?" she called the silent world around her "I've missed you too." she gently skimmed the bark of the trees with a light hand, moving around easily through the underbrush "oh really? that's new." She spoke with a light laugh

"I…" Wila had cast a doubt in him earlier. "I'm sorry I didn't try to stop Harrow. This morning," he apologised quietly.

"No, no." Aza shook her head. "No one else should get hurt."
"Ok."
They stood by the door to their room. Tam pushed it open and held it for Aza, without meeting her gaze.
"Thank you," Aza said softly. "Are you okay?"
He looked up at her. "Debateable, but it's fine. I'll get over it."
He climbed onto his top bunk, unsure about delving into any feelings.
"What? You can tell me," Aza said genuinely.
When Beaux opened her eyes it was completely dark and the stars lit up the sky. Even though she didn't mean too, she had fallen asleep. "Well, that was some of the best sleep I've gotten in a while." Instead of getting up and going back inside, she decided to officially sleep under the stars. Beaux was pretty sure no one would notice, since she wasn't exactly a big part of the circus. She could be replaced at anytime.
"What? You can tell me," Aza said genuinely.
Lying on his bunk, Tam closed his eyes. "Not needed. I'll be fine."
He didn't try to keep his tone gentle, and wasn't sure how it'd be interpreted. But he couldn't think of that right now— all that mattered was getting out of a feelings talk.
"It is needed, and you won't be fine. Trust me, Tam," Aza said and sat on the edge of her bunk.
In spite of him, a grateful smile crept onto Tam's face. "We don't live in a very nice place," he pointed out eventually.
"You're not wrong. So. Tell me." Aza shifted and laid down.
"I've been here for ten years, eleven this winter. Did you know that?" He lay facing the ceiling, conscious of keeping any strong emotion out of his voice.
"I didn't. I'm sorry. Truly," Aza said in a sorrow-laden voice. "I wish I could save you. I hope you know that."
"I do that, but I've seen too much here to be able to gather up what minimal courage I've got and face what I know could happen," Tam admitted in a tightly wound breath.
Aza nodded in the darkness, knowing Tam couldn't see her. She didn't know exactly what to say, so she sat silently.
There was no answer. Tam bit his lip– he'd gotten too personal. "Goodnight," he told Aza to avoid any more silence.
"Goodnight, Tam," Aza said softly, then put her head on her pillow.
Wila found her favorite spot in the center of the forest, sitting down and talking for a bit u til she fell asleep
