Morrigan coughed, hacking and dislodging the heart from her throat, spitting it out on the floor. At least, that’s what she could see. Her whole body trembled, and her eyes were wide, their cloudy grey petrified from sheer terror. “Ha— Hallucinations.”, she choked out.
Stupid Lucian. Kameo needed fresh blood and he didn't even know where Luc kept his samples. He needed someone's blood. Asap. He finally had a strong lead.
“Hallucinations? Bloody hell, I thought Leah was the only one. Alright, just try and concentrate on my voice, none of what you may be seeing are real,” Lucian explained quickly before looking around. “Can I get some help in here?” He shouted, hoping that someone could hear. He needed the medicine from his stocks, but he didn’t want to leave Morrison alone to get them, she could be a danger to herself.
"So now you need me." he stuck his head in the doorway.
Cicada heard shouting from one of the rooms. She decided to go check it out. She poked her head in the room, "What's up?"
Ryan stopped in front of a bakery with a closed sign hanging on the door. "Too bad, I'm hungry." He picked the lock to the store and walked inside, walking to the back and taking a blueberry bagel before walking back out of the store.
(Alright)
“Not the time for jokes, Kameo!” Lucian said in a sharp tone, still on the floor with Morrigan. “One of you two, I don’t give a damn who, go onto the top shelf in the closet of my office, and in a box is a red pill bottle with an ‘h’. Bring that to me.”
"On it." Kameo ran to the office and grabbed the bottle, running back.
"What's going on anyway?" Cicada asked as she entered the room and leaned against a wall.
“I’m not quite sure,” Lucian responded quickly. He snatched the bottle from Kameo, screwing up open and dumping one of the bright red pills into his palm. “Morrigan, you need to take this, it’ll make you feel better.”
Ryan smirked as he continued to walk down the sidewalk. "Ha, no alarm." He told himself as he walked passed yet another (church? chapel? synagogue?). He rolled his eyes at it.
Morrigan stared at the pill, the shock still lingering in her body and mind. “Y-you mean swallow it?”, she stammered. “I— I can’t.”
“Morrigan, you are going to have to, I can’t give it to you any other way,” Lucian responded, trying to keep his voice calm.
Her hands shook. “I——“ My father used to feed me poison in a pill. Um scared, Lucian. She didn’t say it though. “I-Okay.” She took the pill and swallowed it, her breaths ragged. “What were you going to tell me earlier?” Youre pathetic, weak. You can’t even keep your own secrets.
"And does it have to do with why you took my blood?" Cicada interjected from the background.
Lucian nodded slowly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “Good.. You’ll feel better soon, it might make you a bit loopy, though. And as a mater of fact, it does.” He picked up the paper that was next to him on the floor and cleared his throat in an anxious way. “I’m sure most have noticed the strange similarities in appearance between our Captain and the stowaway. I ran a DNA test, and I feel obliged to inform you that the DNA samples match up. They are completely identical.”
(Wait, where's Joanna? I lost track.)
Morrigan shuddered, looking at the girl who must be the stowaway. “What? That’s not possible.” She was still trying to shake the fear. How long had it been since she’d hallucinated about her father?
"Wait, so your telling me," Cicada stalked over to Lucian, "Me and captain ginger are twins?!"
Lucian took a deep breath and nodded slowly. “I didn’t think it could be, but the tests are accurate. I believe that the two may be twins, or at least siblings closer in age.”
He made his way over to a priest, who was trying to attract and audience to tell them about who-knows-what. Ryan held up the picture of his brother that he kept in his pocket, the edges worn. "Have you seen my brother, Cade? He's been missing." The priest shook his head and started rambling about whatever god they worshiped. He didn't bother to stay and listen.
"What. The. Heck?!" Cicada exclaimed. She had never had family, she had never assumed she had family, she had always been the girl on the streets, the thief in the shadows, and now she was someone's sister?!
“This is not something to be deeply concerned about,” Lucian said slowly in an attempt to calm the yelling woman.
"Something not to be concerned about?!" Cicada shouted, "Why the heck do you think that?!"
