(Sounds good.)
(Hi)
(Hello. Any idea where I can jump in?)
(Not really)
(Last I knew I was asking if Ace was hungry.)
Beads of sweat dripped down Kameo's forehead and the room was starting to get stiflingly hot. He'd checked on Ace twice in the past hour and his condition was getting worse faster than any disease Kameo'd ever seen. Grumbling, he threw away the 32 prototypes that hadn't worked and started a new method.
Ace smiled, "Yes. Cheeseburgers?"
(Ah, here now for a while.)
There was a beep on Lucian’s watch, and he got up, knowing the test were ready. He was anxious to see if teh DNA’s were in the least bit similar. Checking the results, his eyes widened and his jaw dropped. They were both identical?! He grabbed the results jogging above to the main deck, needing to find someone to tell about the finding.
Joanna nodded. "Coming right up." She walked off to the kitchen.
Cicada was still on the deck staring off into the sea. Her thoughts lost to sound of the wind.
Morrigan pressed her fingers against her temples, trying to block out the hallucinations with tears in her eyes. But her little brother would not disappear and the long shard of glass would not remove itself from his body’s forehead.
Ace nodded.
(…page 28….I've been doing this for hours I'm so close)
(Almost there! Good job, you’re fast!)
(I could finish reading this in 30 minutes)
(I knw how you feel, I read through all of it too.)
Morrigan’s nails dug into the floor as she willed the hallucinations to stop, to get out of her head and never come back. Her breaths were ragged and her cheeks streaked with tears as she waited for what was to come. This had been happening to her for four years, she knew what was next.
Another fail. Kameo dug his hands through his hair and yelled at himself. People were dying, Ace was dying. He got to work again. Measuring, pouring, heating, freezing, and repeat.
Her little brother’s corpse rose from the floor, blood gushing from the hole in his head and running down his forehead. “Rowan…”, she pleaded, pressing her back against the wall, pain etched into her features. Her eyes were like overflowing storm clouds, ready to burst. Her brother stepped forward.
Lucian felt nervous inside. Sure, he could tell the other woman, but he didn’t know how well that would go. He turn on his heel and jogged to where Morrigan’s room was, and he knocked on the door. “Morrigan? I have something really important, and I need to share it with someone, I can’t keep this to myself,” he said quickly.
Morrigan’s eyes flew open at the knock just in time to see her brother rip himself apart, his insides tumbling out and all over her. His last movements before he collapsed were to shove his still beating heart into her mouth. The words “Come in.” flew from her mouth automatically. She immediately regretted them. Not now!
Lucian opened the door, shutting it behind him. He didn’t look at Morrigan at first, his eyes on the paper in his hands. “You will never believe what I just-,” He cut himself off as he looked at her, a frown forming. “Are you alright?”
Cicada climbed up on the rail, sat down allowing her feet to dangle over the edge.
“I’m fine.”, she croaked, the heart lodged in her throat. She knew it was all in her head, knew that Lucian could see nothing, knew how insane she looked. “What did you find?”
