Daso saw the captain, Joanna, and Kameo conversing and headed over. He wasn't in the mood to be alone just now, and he hoped whatever they spoke of was benign enough to take his head off of things.
"Right, it's no coincident that I had just found you tipsy, and now I hear the word 'whiskey'. Sure."
Kameo laughed and then spotted Daso, "Daso! Hey! You should talk with Captain!" he smiled at Joanna, "Even if I did say whiskey, you'll never find it."
"It was just one sip. I'm not that drunk." Leah grinned, winking at Joanna. "I'll be okay."
"The words 'captain' and 'whiskey' in a sentence together?" Daso smirked. "I'm excited."
Joanna sighed, "Fine."
"You already took all my whiskey." She sighed, looking at Kameo. "At least I can try and win some back."
Kameo saluted to Captain and walked away, waving his deck of cards in the air. "Lab, Cap! Meet me in my lab."
"So you did mention whiskey."
"I'll be there in five minutes!" Leah called out, turning towards Daso. "How are you feeling?"
"Great, and much better seeing you smile," Daso replied with his usual charisma. "And you? Your injuries alright?"
Joanna face palmed. "Why do I even try?" she muttered, walking off to start on lunch.
Kameo laughed and descended into his lab, tucking away his diaries and Ace's (his now) teddy-bear.
"Good, but Joanna thinks I have a drinking problem." She replied, casting her a sidelong glance.
"A drinking problem? You?" Daso inspected her. She did seem a bit…loose? He wasn't sure how to explain it. He kind of liked it. "You always seem so strong."
"I took a couple sips of whiskey. . ." Leah started, leaning against the edge of the boat, a breeze blowing her hair out of her face. "Now Joanna's cleaned my whole room out."
"That's no fun. And you won't be able to restock in Sole." Daso gazed down at the shimmering ocean waves. "Temperance. Except for the rich."
The chemical compound for the bombs was done. Excited, Kameo poured the mix into a shell he'd designed a week before and placed it into the fridge to set.
"You better not restock!" Joanna's voice from the kitchen right below them.
He turned the stove off and flicked the lights on before pushing a table into the center of the room.
"Are you any good at poker?" She asked, looking over at Daso with a mischievous glint in her green eyes. "I'm afraid I can never beat Kameo, and I would love to get my hands on that whiskey he's promised as a prize."
"I'm not bad at it, if I say so myself," he preened, smiling. "Although it seems risky to play against Kameo. That guy's a champion."
