“Remember, it was right here?” The woman said, pressing the sword a bit closer to Lucian’s abdomen. He hissed and nodded quickly, tears threatening to spill from his eyes.
He had opened his mouth to speak when he heard Cicada. “The crew.. This isn’t real..” he said slowly as he smacked the sword away and shoved the woman back. “Lucian! Don’t listen to her. It was our night, remeber? Our anniversary, and the proposal, remeber?” The woman cried.
He had picked up the sword and swiftly plunged it into her stomach before she could continue to speak. He blinked his tears away, ignoringthe burning feeling that rose in his lungs as he let the body drop. He walked back over to Cicada, slipping the medical mask on over his mouth. “Lets fix you up, yeah?”
Cicada let out a sigh of relief. The feeling was gone now.
Joanna stood up, clutching at her now red stained side. Not-Pablo had gotten her.
Leah tried to sit up, but as soon as she tried, her whole vision went dark. She fell back down, groaning and clutching her waist. "A-are you okay?" She managed to say between her rapid breathing.
“Try and relax, I’ll give you a bit more morphine if needed,” Lucian said as he moved the bottom half of her shirt up so he could see the wound clearly.
Ryan shook himself out of his trance when he saw Joanna injured. He ran over to her, slicing a zombie in the throat. "Are you alright?"
"God, that's the most Leah thing you could do," he almost laughed. He inspected her wound quickly –it was deep. "You're bleeding and you almost drowned and you're asking me how i'm doing. Tsk. Here, give me your hand." He took her hand gently and placed it on her wound. "Apply pressure. I'll get you to the infirmary."
Cicada felt her body relax.
She waved him off. "Tis only a scratch." She mumbled.
"Are you sure?" Ryan asked, making sure that they weren't about to be attacked.
"Oh lord, that hurts." Leah grimaced, placing her hand on the wound. She couldn't even tell the difference between her blood and the rain falling down onto the deck. Both were everywhere.
(I’m not a professional, so I am just going to summarize this surgery quickly.)
Lucian worked at a good pace, first on her abdomen. Once he had finished and applied layers of bandages, he did his best to carefully turn Cicada over and do the same with the wound on her back.
"Are you sure?" Ryan asked, making sure that they weren't about to be attacked.
She inspected her side. "Yah, looks worse than it is."
"I can imagine," he mumbled, wincing as he lifted her. The wound in his own side wasn't nearly as deep, since he'd deflected it with his hand, but it still stung. He held her close, trying to keep from jostling her and causing her too much pain. Then he headed for the infirmary.
Cicada's eyes fluttered. She was on the edge of consciousness.
"You're going to the medic after this." Ryan stated, forgetting the doctor's name.
"Yep. Sure thing." She said, picking up a couple knives.
"Just put me down, I'm hurting you." Leah mumbled, leaning against his chest.
"Ah, no, it's just my hand," he lied quickly. "I'm just dramatic." He tried to ignore the ache in his shoulder. He was fine, he convinced himself. He reached the door of the infirmary and knocked at it with his foot.
After about 10 more minutes, Lucian had finished with Cicada. He tugged the mask down around his neck and took off his gloves. “Alright, lets get you back onto a cot..” he said, lifting her carefully and bringing her over to an empty cot before leaving to help others in the room.
Ryan nodded, taking his knife and turning back to the fight.
(Are we almost ready to move on?)
"You're hurt. Put me down." Leah said firmly, looking up at Daso. "I can walk."
Lucian heard a light knock and jogged over to the door, swinging it open. The room seemed to be a mess. Between the strong smell of blood, and the nicely dressed woman dead on the floor, it looked more like a madhouse than an infirmiry. “Daso, good, is Leah awake? Bring her in and set her down somewhere.”
Cicada's eyes opened and she saw the infirmary's ceiling. She groaned in frustration remembering what happened.
