"Okay." Kameo wobbled towards her, grasping her arms, "I'm a bit drunk. Do you know how to get the burn-dead-cream place? What was it called? Creamatoria? I dunno. It's where we make Ace into ashes so we fulfill his wish."
"Okay." Kameo wobbled towards her, grasping her arms, "I'm a bit drunk. Do you know how to get the burn-dead-cream place? What was it called? Creamatoria? I dunno. It's where we make Ace into ashes so we fulfill his wish."
Cicada's breath hitched, "Yeah I know where that is. Follow me."
“It was your dad’s fault, I’m sure if your brother could talk to you right now, he would know that,” Lucian explained slowly.
"Uh-huh." Kameo followed, tears streaking out of his eyes, "Ace is dead."
Morrigan shook her head but didn’t argue. She unclasped the leather pouch from around her neck and took out a small, folded up piece of paper from inside, laying it next to the roses. “Sorry for wasting your time.”
"Yeah I know," Cicada responded. She turned down a street, "I know."
Joanna walked out of the market to see Cicada leading Kameo. Kameo had something slung over his shoulder. As she hurried forward she realized that something was Ace. "Cicada! Kameo!"
“Waste my time? You didn’t waste my time, I’m glad you brought me here, I know how much it means to you,” Lucian said, rubbing her back.
"Hey Joanna!" Cicada waved at her..
"I don't like death." Kameo muttered, reaching up to tie his hair back.
"Neither do I," Cicada reached into her bag and grabbed the painting. Running her finger over it.
"I know Kam. I know." Joanna murmured.
They reached the crematorium and Kameo held everyone back.
"I'm going alone. I don't want you guys to watch me cry again."
"Okay then," Cicada looked down at her new boots. Well old boots, but she had never worn them before today.
Morrigan took deep breaths, steadying herself. “Thank you.” She stood up, spinning around slowly and scanning the trees for something, knowing she couldn’t handle looking at Lucian now.
Joanna nodded.
Lucian standed up as well and brushed his pants off. “Do you want to try and find the others now?” He asked softly.
He pushed the doors open, immediately greeted with a short woman, barely four feet tall.
"One body is 80 (dollars? I don't know the currency) and over four feet is an extra dollar(?) per foot."
Kameo nodded, pushing some money out of his pockets and handing it the woman.
"If you want it done in an hour, but still high quality, I need another 100 bucks (?)."
"O-okay." he pushed his money to her, fighting to keep the tears away.
"Did you get everything you needed to Joanna?" Cicada asked her attempting to make small take.
“Yeah, I’m just—-“ There it was. Breathless, she ran up to a tree with a strange design carved into it and rummaged around near the roots for a second before coming up with an envelope, which she tucked into her pocket. “Alright.”
He reluctantly handed Ace's body to the woman and headed outside, ignoring Joanna and Cicada, to buy a nice jar to keep the ashes in.
"I think so. I really had to haggle for the Maple syrup though."
"That is a rare commodity around these parts," Cicada nodded thoughtfully, "Hey which sector did you come from?"
"I come from Divo! How 'bout you?"
"Cielo," Cicada responded, "But I've been all over the place."
