Lucian cursed when he couldn’t find the paper. “Can someone go find Kameo? I don’t know much about this plague. Morrigan, you’re going to need to stay here until we figure out what to do, we don’t want to spread it,” he said quickly, pacing back over to her.
That sent a burst of terror through her. “Oh god. If you’re in danger from me, then just kill me now.”
"We aren't killing you Morrigan," Cicada glared at her. It hurt to sit up but, "I can go find Kameo."
“Not happening, we can fix this,” Lucian said, shaking his head quickly. He grabbed another medical mask, dropping it into Morrigan’s lap. “Put that on, it will help slow any possible spreading.”
"Let's go," Daso said to Cicada. He wanted to give Morrigan and Lucian some space.
Morrigan put it on as quick as possible, holding her breath for a moment. “I mean it, Lucian. Just kill me and get it over with.”
"Okay," Cicada got off the cot. She wanted to collapse, but kept going.
Without saying anything, Daso looped his arm through hers to support her some. He knew she wouldn't want to be carried anymore. The two of them headed towards Kameo's lab, hoping he was available.
"Thanks," Cicada whispered to Daso as they walked.

"Don't mention it, red," he said softly. They approached the lab. Daso knocked on the door.

Morrigan put it on as quick as possible, holding her breath for a moment. “I mean it, Lucian. Just kill me and get it over with.”
“I’m not doing that, Morrigan. It’s not happening,” Lucian said in a slightly stern tone. He placed his hands on either side of her head, making her look at him. “You know how stubborn I can be, yes? I am not letting you leave me so easily,” he continued, tugging the antibacterial mask down to press a quick kiss to her forehead before tugging it back on.
(And here Joanna is oblivious to all this.)
Joanna finished stirring the lemonade. "Alrighty, off to find people." She made her way to the door. "Say, Ryan, care to step out so I can lock up?"

This pit Morrigan to a stop, her thoughts sluggish. Had Lucian just kissed her on the forehead? It was too good to. Be true. “O-okay.” She swallowed. “But Lucian? As much as o want you near me, it’s not safe. Please keep your distance.”, she begged.
Alice knocked on the door impatiently.
Cicada pushed all her thoughts of Everflame into the back of her head. She needed to focus on the present, even if the nickname red reminded her of James.
As they waited for Kameo, Daso noticed Cicada looked thoughtful. "You okay?" he asked.
Lucian bit his lower lip sharply and nodded slowly. He finally had her, and now it could all possibly crash down to nothingness again. “I’ll make you better, I swear I will.”
"Yeah," Cicada looked down, "Sirens just stirred up some old memories."
Kameo came out, red-eyed. "Yes?"
"I know what you mean," he said. "I saw my mom. Creepy as hell." He squeezed her arm encouragingly, hoping to win a smile from her.
"Kam-Kam," Daso greeted. He still looked so sad and broken. Daso hated to give him more bad news. "It's Morrigan. She…might have the plague."
Cicada smiled at Daso, and then turned towards Kameo.
