Corban tries not to shrink at her look. "What?" He asks, smiling uncertainly.
Corban tries not to shrink at her look. "What?" He asks, smiling uncertainly.
"Nothing…you've just..gotten taller," she says, her face becoming slightly pink. She laughs nervously and looks down at the ground.
(Awkwardness is only fun if it's not you. :P)
"Oh?" Corban feels his face heating up. "Yeah, I guess." You guess? "Have you, too?"
(Heh)
"I mean…yeah," she says smiling slightly. "I'm actually over 5 foot now, so you can't make fun of me for that anymore."
Corban grins, remembering how fun it was teasing her over how short she'd been. Well, he'd hardly been taller, but that hadn't mattered to him then. "Yeah, guess not." He stuffs his hands in his gym short pockets and shifts his feet awkwardly. "You're in Mrs. Well's Chemistry class, right?"
"Yeah, I am," she replies, grinning slightly, her face still bright pink. She looks up at the sky slightly.
(What time of year is it?)
Corban nods again. "Yeah, I though I saw you there." Seeing her flushed face, he shifts the conversation a little from her.
"Were you there when Toby Clackson mixed sodium and potassium together, about two weeks ago? I know some kids were out."
(Like October)
"No, I was…somewhere else. Why? What happened?" she asks curiously, looking back down. She tilts her head again, shoving her hands in her pockets.
(Ok, thanks. I have to go now; I don't know if I'll be back tonight, but I know I'll return tomorrow.)
Corban makes an outwards exploding motion with his hands. "Boom."
(Okie)
Sofia laughs genuinely and smiles. "Sounds like him," she says, shaking her head.
"Yeah," Corban grins. Sofia has a pretty laugh. "He's going to get in big trouble someday if he doesn't start reading the labels."
"I'm surprised he hasn't already," she says, nodding.
(Sorry, the internet doesn't like my computer today; it's decided to be shlow. When is the 1st Wave going to hit?)
"Yeah, any day now, right?" Laughing has relaxed him a little, but Corban doubts conversation will ever be easy for him. The voices his parents through the front open window raise again. As a distraction, he asks, "So, are you going to Jade Carlyle's party tonight?"
(Tomorrow at school.)
She shrugs. "I wasn't invited," she replies.
"Seriously?" He frowns, not quite knowing how to back out of that one. "Ah, Jade wouldn't mind if more people showed up. They always do." As extra he adds, "Her parents are gone, too, so it's going to be a blast."
"I don't know..she doesn't like me that much. I wouldn't want her to get angry," she says, crossing her arms.
Not wanting to push too much, he looks towards his house, asking, "A falling out?"
"Kinda, not really, I dunno," she says quietly, biting her cheek.
Corban nods.
"Ah," He gestures at his house. The arguing has grown in volume, and he'd like to get Sofia out of hearing range if at all possible. "I probably should go."
"Yeah…I have to somehow find my way back home," she says, shrugging.

"Want me to look up the address?" Corban asks, pulling out his phone.
(Sorry, was getting my stitches out.)
"Could you? I'm honestly completely lost," she replies, laughing embarrassedly. "And my phone is shot, other than texting and music it does nothing."
(Stitches? Intriguing.)
"That sucks," says Corban, pulling up Maps on his phone. "Here," he says, handing the phone to Sofia. "You're less likely to end up on the other side of the state if you're the one who types it in."
