Victoria opened the hood of another car, reaching for her wrench. “I know just what to do, ma’am,” she told the waiting customer.
“Oh, thank goodness,” the lady smiled. “When will it be ready?”
“Six o’clock tomorrow, if that works for you,” Victoria replied, already beginning to work on the vehicle. The lady nodded and left the shop. Victoria continued working.
Sofia hummed softly as she sat, thinking. She opened her phone and looked at pictures. Her mom told her that this was her dad, which she had never met. Sofia touched her phone screen and sighed.
(Whoa, Sofia, drama. :P)
Corban taps his playlist to 'shuffle' and pops his earbuds in. If he had initiative and didn't care that much he'd run, but he'd always thought runners looked super awkward. His music is interrupted by a ping, and he sighs and stops for a minute to check it out.
It's a text from his best friend Zach:
You coming to Jade's party 2 nite?
Corban grins and texts back a quick,
You know it.
(Who doesn't love some drama ay?)
Sofia shut off her phone and shoved it in her pocket. One earbud fell out but she didn't care, she sat there and stared at absolutely nothing, thinking about everything.
(Hey, dudes; we're all 17. Do we all go to the same school?)
(Ok.)
Corban switches his music, and soon Les Friction is in his ears; for the first time today he realizes how perfect it is outside this afternoon.
Sofia stood up and began to walk again. As she walked she listened to her music quietly, still thinking.
(Everyone stopped replying to all my Rps at the same time XD)
(I was waiting for @TurtleOfFreedom , but I don't know if they're still on.)
Your world will fail, my love, it's far beyond repair. Corban mouths the words as he makes his way down the street, just a few blocks from his house.
(I dunno, it was just funny)
Sofia heard her phone ring and stopped, leaning against an electric pole. She looked at her phone and saw a missed call from a random number. Weird she thought and continued to walk, her head down.
(Whoa, Corban's already a nerd. :P)
Corban turns onto his street. When he gets to his house he's just opened the screen door when he hears voices from inside through a front open window; he instantly recognizes them as his parents'. Arguing; they've been doing that a lot lately. He sighs and sits down on the concrete steps of the porch, just under the porch roof so he's still in the shade.
He turns his music up to drown out his parents, and closes his eyes.
Sofia walked down a few streets, finally realizing she was lost. She looked around and sighed, she never came this way, and couldn't remember how to get back. She walked for a while, scanning every house to try and find something that could help her get home, nothing.
Corban opens his eyes. A drop of sweat drips into one, causing a stinging sensation; he rubs at the eye, grimacing. Perfectly, as soon as he opens his eyes again, his current song ends.
He looks around, still hearing the murmur of his parents at the end of their argument. Corban leans back, trying to look nonchalant and oblivious when he sees someone going past on the sidewalk.
(Dun dun dun)
Sofia takes out both her earbuds and hangs the cord around her neck. She stops for a minute and sighs, rubbing her temples. She mutters something under her breath and shakes her head.

Corban does a small double take. Ah. Probably should say 'hi.'
"Hey!" he stands and goes down the walk, a hand up in 'hi.'
She flinches slightly at the sound of his voice. She looks at him and waves slightly. "Oh. Hey," she says.
(How well do you think we should know each other? Acquaintances? Oh-I've-seen-you-in-class-before?)
"Sorry if I scared you," Corban says, noticing her flinch. And so begins the awkwardness, Corban. Good job.
(Ummm, how about they were friends a couple years ago but they stopped talking for no reason?)
Sofia shakes her head and sighs. "No…no it's fine," she says, smiling slightly.
Corban nods, silent for a moment. "It's been a while."
"It has…" she agrees, shifting from foot to foot. She tilts her head to the side and looks at him.
