(cool alright then)
Fade walked in late to the class, he seemed really tired, even more than usual. The sides of his eyes even seemed a bit puffy and red. He notices Aether and walks over to her since he didn't seem to recognize anyone else in the class. "Heya" He says, his voice coming out a bit broken. He clears his throat to sound a bit clearer. "Sorry, I might be sick" He laughs lowly.
"Well…" Peony cleared her throat. "This is the first of my extensive schooling. I have learned to read, write, and do math to the best of my abilities. I finished at the years of 13. After that, I train. For years. This-" she gestured around her. "Is my first real schooling. Mama taught me all of things I have learned beforehand." She the looked to Caleb, then Barry. "What is a pre-schooling?"
(Sorry guys I haven't been on that much. Time for some drama.)
Suddenly out of no where, Magdalena felt something grab her shoulder. She felt like her soul was being ripped from her body, but her screams were silenced by a warm hand covering her mouth. Then, before she could take another breath, the hand moved away from her and the lights flickered back on. There was no one else in the room except her, making it eerily silent.
Aether turned to see Fade, and a smile lights her face. "Hiya, Fade! Yeah, you don't look too good," She thinks for a second, pursing her lips. "If you want, before I left, my grandma taught me a soup recipe that clears a cold right up. I could give you some?"
“It’s like… when you’re really little you go to school to learn the very very basics.”, Barry tried to explain. “And so they an assess if you have magic.”
She nodded. "Papa says that he and mama have always know of my abilities." Her hand unconsciously went to the white-inked tattoo on her cheek. She ran a finger over it. "He says it was…. obvious."
Barry smiled. “Mine too. I accidentally created a miniature rain cloud when I got really upset one day.” He peered at the white tattoo she was fingering. “What’s that?”
Fade gives her bright half smile even though he was tired as hell. "Yea sure I'd like that a lot, thanks" He then turns to face the front, getting ready for the class to start.
"Memory mark…" she told him, taking her fingers away. "My mother… has passed on. And as her only daughter, I am to where her mark. A charmer marked me and when one touches it, a memory it shown to them. Very nice in my loneliest moments…"
"Got it, I'll drop by later and give you some," Aether also turned to the front, where Ms. Gruele was going on and on about…partner duels? She wasn't quite sure, to be honest.
Barry was silent for a moment. "I'm sorry about– about your mom. My mom….. yeah." He cleared his throat. "I guess my tattoos are my memory marks….." By habit, his fingers grazed over the crow tattoo hidden under his shirt.
She patted his shoulder. "It is fine… life is a something that comes and goes, we cannot stop it. But we must enjoy the time we have. We are the lucky ones, Barry…"
Barry nodded, clearing his throat again and pulling up a nonchalant guise. “What class do you have next?” He changed the subject, not wanting to touch on this subject anymore.
"Speech and then Water Magic…" she said with a nervous laugh, wanting to cover the subject as well. She didn't like talking about her mother but, she would if someone asked.
“Im taking Water Magic too, to help focus my storm powers.”, Barry said. “I guess I’ll See you then?”
"Yes, you guess correctly." She slung her bag over her shoulder, stood, and left. She thought of all things she needed to check over with her instructor.
(Barry can have class with someone next, who wants to?)
(Yo, I could have a class with Barry next if ya want)
Fade looked over at Aether when the teacher mentioned dueling partners. Oh great, fabulous, maybe I should have skipped today. He nudges Aether. "Hey, wanna be partners?" he whispers to her, still looking up front.
(yay, I'll just wait until his current class is over)
"Yeah, that'll be great," Aether whispered back, flinching when the teacher clapped her hands and nearly yelled the word "Go!" This is what she hated about Ms. Guelle. It was all quiet and then bam, suddenly blaring loud.
Fade casually looks at Aether. "Soooo….we start?" He said looking around to see what everyone else was doing.
"Yeah, I guess…" Aether trailed off, racking her brain to remember what exactly the teacher said. "If I remember correctly, we go on one of the mats to warm up, and then she'll call up our names to duel on the big thingy," She pointed at what resembled a boxing ring. "Want to go over there?" She asked, gesturing to an open mat a couple feet away.
Fade nods. "yea sure, so does that mean we'll be going up against other pairs or is it just us two that will be going up against each other?" He asked, a bit confused as they walked over to the mats.
