Barry was speechless. “That’s… wow.” The Greek Gods. Damn. That’s— whoah.
Barry was speechless. “That’s… wow.” The Greek Gods. Damn. That’s— whoah.
“They exist still, but on a smaller plain of existence, very minor deities, even sort of angels…” Oliver notices his speechlessness, “I hope I haven’t ‘blown your mind’, as you Americans say, too much”
Barry chuckled, still dazed. “That, you’ve definitely achieved. Consider my mind blown.”
He smiles, “then I definitely shouldn’t tell you about my interactions with one of the gods..”
Barry laughed. “Yeah.. better hold off on that for now.”
Oliver goes back to eating, “it would be a shame to blow your mind and kill you on your last year here”
Beau decided to hop in after his long silence. "Well, not all the gods are gone." He said quietly, still fidgeting with his pencil. "Where do you think I come from?"
Barry just stared at Beau for a few seconds. “Whoah….”, he whispered. “Which one?”
Oliver turns and looks at Beau curiously, “no?”
"Zeus, of course. He's the only one left. I've never met him personally, obviously. I'm not high enough ranked for that. But I hear he reminisces a lot about things."
“Ah of course, Zeus…” he wrinkles his nose slightly
"He's not as 'all powerful' as he used to be, you know." Beau said thoughtfully. "I've heard he's rather gone soft and is just kinda sad a lot. You know, having all his friends and family disappear and stuff…"
“Of course. I’d not wish that on anyone else”
Peony had hoped unpacked would've settled the nerves that began to bubble and burst inside of her, but the task was over just as soon as it had started. She and her roommate went downstairs to the dining hall. And as she held her plate, she stood on her toes to look over seas of people, trying to find somewhere to sit.
Oliver quickly glances around, eager for some distraction, he once again waves someone over, “there’s a seat over here!” He calls out to the girl
Peony hears the boy and gives a sigh of relief. She sat down at the table and bowed her head to the kind boy. "Thanks and appreciation." she thanked him. She then hands her ID to him, Peony of Iridescent Day, Year 3, Foreign Exchange Student, it read. "Peonui'o Iridescent Aur, that is my name. Call me by first name, please." She said with a smile. She looked at all of them with golden eyes. "And all of you?"
“Oliver Savvas! Call me Oliver, I love your name, it’s beautiful!”
"I'm Beau Liam Torres, but you can.. also just call me by my first name."
Beaming, she bowed her head to Oliver once more. "You are kind, Oliver." Though it sounded more like 'Ali-Var'. "Nice to eat you!" she said with a hand gesture, pressing two fingers to her chest, then her lips, and flicking them towards her. She was showing regards to him in heart and voice. She turned to Beau and did the same.
Oliver smiles, “it’s nice to meet you as well!” He tilts his head, “where are you from?”
Beau looked confused for a moment, but repeated the gesture after a second, hoping that was the right thing to do in this situation.
Barry repeated the action as well, worried he was messing up. “I’m Barry Lawrence. Of um…. of New York. Nice to meet you.”
"I'm Sym Arter, I'm from an entirely different dimension," Sym said, having finished his food and was just watching the conversation."
Fade, who was quietly listening to Barry play, suddenly flinches when he drops the guitar. He turns around to see what was wrong, he looks at Barry's face and notices that he didn't look too well. As Fade starts to get up Barry storms out of the room. Fade just stands there staring at the guitar.
(Aw poor Fade)
“Nice to meet you too, Sym. God, everyone’s from other dimensions or immortal or from heaven and I’m just…. from New York.”
